A couple of weeks ago there were a bunch of great new icons - I don't mean smilies - and I even mentioned how cool they were. Now it's back to the same ones that were here before.

Just now seeing this. Thanks everyone so glad you like them. I really do enjoy working with graphics a lot. However with a busy life as of late I have not been able to practice / develope my skills as often & as in depth as I would like to.

Yes the smilies, posting icons & avatars are obtained in various ways.

I have been into graphics for years so I have tons & tons & tons saved on memory sticks, etc. Last count was well over 150,000
Some are oldies but goodies floating around free for use
Some due to my limited talent I have asked / called in favors from my graphic friends & acquatances to make or assit me in making specific ones
I also have quite a collection that I have made over the years
There are sooooo many that I like it is hard to pick favorites. I do however take a shine to all the little girl :wavehi: & all the various holiday ones :smalltree: .

Well a couple of weeks ago there were a BUNCH of new ones added so there were lots more to choose from but the past several days (maybe more) it's back to most of the same ones that were there before.

No, of the ones you just mentioned below I've seen all of those in the smilie section (except the Kwanzaa but I prob overlooked it).

In the icon section, I SWEAR, a couple of weeks ago there were lots more there than are now. I noticed and made a post on it and queenofthehive replied back on it. It was definitely a big difference compared to what's there right now.

I've only been here since February.

OK, when I look there are currently 7 rows of icons. How many are there for you? There were definitely more than 7 rows when I made the first comment a few weeks ago because I noticed immediately when I did a reply on something.

Yes those are the ones that are now, but you can see by the other reply here that I am not the only one who experienced this. Perhaps you were working on them and for a brief time accidentally made them available to the general membership?

I know they were there, now they're not and that's fine but it would have been nice to have more because there were new ones that that were fun and interesting. Many times I start a thread and look for an appropriate icon and can't find one so I don't use anything.

I only mentioned the smilies in the original thread because I'd stated they were my favorites.

Oh well, sorry this took so much of your time.

To edit permissions I have to on purpose access a certain area so it isn't likely that happened. When I added the one new icon I did not have to edit permissions just drop it into place. Maybe it was a short term board fluke. :dontknow1:

The ones you saw are for "staff members" only. They are used for specific reasons such as to mark, label or call attention to important staff posts or other threads we as staff members deem important. If they were made available to the general membership then that concept would be lost as they would be used all throughout the board.

Example: When this posting icon http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/images/icons/button108a2a.GIF was 1st added to the board I had it available to the general membership. I ended up having to make it "staff use only" as it started appearing casually throughout the board with no concept as to it's real purpose which is to mark the weekly store ads.

Because of the new prefixes I am setting up around the board I decided to once again make it available to the general membership to give it another try. However, should it start showing up in a manner against it's intended use then I will once again have to make it "staff use only".

I changed my profile picture from my baby when she was 24 hours old to one where she's wearing a hat. I see the new pic on my profile but when I post I still see the old one.

Under Settings/Options in the Control Panel, you will need to edit your Avatar. Then you will see the change.

Thats your Profile picture. To add an avatar under your user name, go to User CP (the 1st link along the long orange bar underneath the HCW logo) Then scroll down to Edit Avatar and upload your picture from there. HTH!

Can we get a "WINNER" icon to signal when a RAOK is finished...instead of the "Dead Deal" icon? It seems like it would be a more positive way of marking it.
