Good morning everyone! :smile:Thanks to haiho2000 for posting some of the best deals already. I love that members jump in there and let us all know whats going on! I don't get the ad early on Tuesdays 9 out of 10 times because the free paper delivery kids must be lazy. LOL

Anyways...I have got a dentist appointment here in just a little bit and I have to take my puppy in for her second round of shots so I am not going to have time today to do match ups. I did however type up the highlights for ya incase there was anything I spotted that was not already listed out. If I am feeling OK later tonight (depends on how bad the dentist is...I have a dentist phobia) I will see if I can get match ups added in. But I am making no promisies. In the meantime you guys feel free to chatter away about what deals you are spotting!

I really liked how this thread was run last week. Just looking at the best deals was way easier than sorting through a super long post of stuff I don't need. IMO :)

Thanks maddie for some coupon matchups. And I hear that heather. I was trying that out last week more for a change of pace. Do others prefer a longer list with matchups or a shorter list with just the free uber cheap stuff?

I want make sure I am giving you guys what you need but what is a good deal for some maynot meet the needs of newbies or others.

But I will take my cue from you guys.

I had a rough time at the dentist so I am just popping in on the site quickly from my phone.

I prefer the shorter list with just the uber cheap deals. I don't see the need for you to retype the entire ad when it's available in-store and on the store's website.

Hunt's Back To School coupon rebate offer. Buy $10, get $25 in Qs. It states SuperCenter, but I've done them with Albies receipts and purchases. I didn't see any decent coupons in this month's AY magazine, tho'.

I too agree....Too much time taken from other things you can do with you family when you type the whole list.

OK guys this week I am taking it easy as your mod as I just have a butt load of stuff to do this week and I have not been feeling all that good either.

Next week we will just do the uber good deals and I may test a new feature on this forum only too. One of the many projects we have been working on.

Ran into Albies to grab some produce (Honeycrisp apples are so yummy! Even if they are expensive here) and the 10 Lb. bag of potatoes for $0.99 had a coupon attached to the top of the bag for $1.00/1 Tyson Heat & Eat Entrées.

Nature Made Vitamins are BOGO and I needed some vitamin D (not enough sunlight exposure in Wyoming to get it naturally) and those were $5.04 for the 90 ct. small bottles. Used (2) Nature Made Vitamin D Supplement, Any~$1.00/1 that I had printed from Smartsource (http://coupons2.smartsource.com/smartsource/index.jsp?Link=GLPAHOLHDARLS) making them $1.52 each which I thought was a good price.

And then I had a exactly four $1.00/1 Honey Nut cheerios coupons that are going to expire at the end of the month so I went ahead and got 4 boxes at $1.50 each AC and got my Catalina for free milk. Would have been much better if the cereal was cheaper but my kids like that cereal and I was needing milk.

Ended up spending $45 and some change, mostly on produce though which is just part of the deal I guess. I also noticed that my store had beef brisket for $1.49 a lb. But I did not get any because it was a huge chunk of meat and I have no idea how you cook that so wanted to Google it and see what you do with that much meat outside of BBQing it.

Try This (http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/06/brisket_baby/)recipe. I've heard good things about it but haven't found cheap enough brisket to try it myself yet.

I LUV brisket when its cooked in the smoker all day....It's not a tender meat but it tastes so good when its cooked that way!

Cool thanks. That looks like an easy enough recipe. I may go back to the store and get me a brisket and see how it turns out.

You think $1.49 lb is a good price?

Its not a really good price but its a good price. :)

queenofthehivemomof5
10-22-2010, 01:13:37 PM
what do you consider a really good price for it? I am not a BIG meat eater so it is always something that stumps me outside of a few cuts that I know good prices on. I actually grew up most of my life vegan (not sure if that was a philosophy my mom subscribed to or if we really just could not afford meat LOL). I know good prices on ground beef, pot roast, london broil and a few others but I have never bought brisket before.

I have a whole lot of lamb right now in the freezer because we bought a whole one from a friend who's kids raise lambs for 4H.

MaddieT
10-22-2010, 01:48:41 PM
I've never bought or cooked brisket before either. We don't have much lamb left. Got a quarter from a friend's kid doing 4H as well. We've got the big leg o' lamb that we need to figure out a rotisserie for.

queenofthehivemomof5
10-22-2010, 02:24:26 PM
We have a rotisserie on our grill. I forgot all about that! Might have to do a My Big Fat Greek Wedding style BBQ and grill a leg of lamb on a spit in the front yard. LOL Seriously we eat red meat like once a week. So that lamb is going to last us forever.

jenrose

I have never had lamb in my life!

queenofthehivemomof5
10-22-2010, 02:29:18 PM
It's really good. I don't really like steak (beef) but I like lamb steak. If you cook them medium rare they are very juicy and tender. We like to put fresh garlic, rosemary, olive oil and balsamic vinegar on them and let them sit a little then throw it on the grill. Very yum.

melodyjg
10-22-2010, 05:14:33 PM
A good price for Brisket for me would be .99 cents a lb....At that price I would probably buy at least 2 or 3...

10-22-2010, 07:17:31 PM
You can always cut a big piece of meat into smaller pieces too. Most anything comes out good in a crock pot.
