Leftover Nail Polish Stained Glass

Have you ever admired those stained glass windows
in churches? Well, now you can make your own right
at home and without all the mess! Using a dry-erase
marker, draw the desired design on a glass vase or
jar and fill in the spaces with old nail polish. Use
black fabric paint over the dry-erase marker to
create a lead-like effect. If you don't like the design,
just peel off the paint and use nail polish remover to
start all over again. If you really want to get bold, go
ahead and do a window in stained glass or just a
border around the edge of one.

I am always finding old nailpolish @ yard sales, CHEAP!!

I can see achieving a painted design from this technique. I question, however, if you'll get the light-through-colored-glass effect though. I reason most nail polish (not all) is akin to opaque glass.

Worth trying on an old glass to see what effect you would get. Thanks for the idea!

DD was looking for something to frame out her bathroom mirror. This might be something she wants to try.

I can't remember where I saw it, but there was a lady that repainted her whole car with nailpolish, like a patchwork quilt, and then had it clear-coated to stay.

I think I am going to try this! I have a small window in my front door that I want covered so people can't see in. I thought about cutting vellum to fit, but I like this idea better. Now to come up with a design idea! TY!!

I've done several paintings on glass with nail polish, just never went for a stained glass look, I'll have to try it!

Well, I tried to google it, and it brought me to this thread, lol!

I did find this, the artist said she had done some of it with nail polish...she just didn't say which parts.
