I love to do cross stitch. I'm working on a christmas sampler right now. I've had it packed away for a year or so and started working on another sampler. Got the other sampler finished and framed and that got me psyched to start this one which is a little harder.
I'd love to hear from you about what you're doing ")

I love to do cross stitch too, but honestly since ds#1 was born (he's 7!), I can probably count on one hand how many cross stitch projects I've actually finshed, and that's including Christmas tree ornaments :(
I've got quite a few things going - not sure if they would count at WIP's (Work in Progress) or UFO's (Unfinshed Objects) but no matter what you call them, they're not done and they're not presently being worked on.
I'd love to get back into it more, but with everything else I have going on, I can't seem to find enough time to work on them.
But I'd love to see what everyone else is working on - and see pics - maybe that would give me some motivation to work on my things!!

I do I do! I've been cross stitching since I was about 13. I haven't started a new project in years though. The last one I finished was a HUGE dragon, covered corner to corner in soooo many different colors. It took me almost a YEAR to finish that sucker lol. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would.
I have carpal tunnel AND tendonitis in my wrists so I can't do it much anymore. I can't hold the hoop for more than 10 minutes or so. Hurts.

I haven't used hoops in years - I use Q-Snaps - they were originally made for quilters, but I know a lot of cross stitchers that use them. Instead of stretching the fabric and having a circle or an oval to stitch in, the qnaps make your stitching area square and it's easier to prop them up against something (like the edge of the table if you're sitting at a table or desk or even on the arm of the couch) so you don't have to hold it in your hand.
I was so into cross stitch for so many years and have so much money invested in it. I have a portable tabletop/lapstand as well as a floor stand. With each one you clamp the qsnap and it holds it for you.

I'll check into those! I really want to get back into it, but my youngest (2 yo) is still into the "grab everything and RUN" phase. So maybe next year I'll be able to start back up. I still have a project that's *almost* done that has been in the hoop for 4 years! All I have to do is outline it! But nooooooo, I'm almost too lazy to finish it lol.

I do! I'm working on a 5x7 of two kitties next to a pond. I don't get as much done during the summer since I garden and bicycle, but it will wait for me.

I am working on 2 cardinals sitting on snowy branches. I usually work on it while I am watching TV in the evenings.

I don't do the cross stitch currently but I love latch hook boxes. But I've run out of room for them. LOL

I love to cross stitch. I find it very relaxing. I usually do the christmas ornaments on the plastic. Easy to work on. I used to be able to find them in walmart but not anymore. They are made by Dimensions.

I've crossed stitch for over 30 years now...haven't worked on anything "steady" for a while now but it's been on my mind quite often...which usually means a project is prolly around the corner.;)

I'm totally nuts about cross stitch! I work on 1 project at a time and I only take on things that are huge or very detailed so it usually takes me 6months to a year to get them done but I LOVE it!
My fav thing to do it switch out the colors and make the design into something that will match the colors I use throughout my house. I just finished something last week actually, it took me about 8 months to do (took a 4 month break in the middle bc I went back to work) I'll post the link if I can.
What I find is that I can only cross stitch if I'm not working. I have a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old, so when I'm not running around playing with or cleaning up after them I'm working on the house and making sure everything's done. So the only time I have to stitch is nap time and after they've gone to bed for the night and when I was working, I was always waaayyyyy too tired to stay up late and stitch.

I really like to cross-stitch and I have been working on a Santa picture. It's going to be beautiful, but it has a lot of blended colors and metallic threads which make the needle hard to pull through the fabric.
I wish I had the time/energy/skill/supplies to do my own framing. I love to cross-stitch but can't afford to pay to have things framed.

Looks great! Inspires me to get back to one of my many half-completed projects!

When I was a kid, I used to do ALL kinds of projects with my mom. Sewing, quilting, crocheting, decupauge (sp?), knitting, cross stitch, macrama .... And mpre! But I haven done ANY kind of project in probably 25 yrs!! As I have been missing my mom more and more, I am pulled to start working on these types of projects again. New Years resolution: start being craftie/creative again!! I just started a cross stitch sampler ... Snowman w/reindeer. A super easy beginner piece. Lets see if I can pull off this little trail piece. Good luck me!!
