I went to A&P today and did the Green Giant boxed veggie deal. They are on sale for .90 each if you buy 10, $1.00 each for less than 10. First off, they scanned at .90 from the first box on which I guess means that they are .90 regardless if you buy 1 or 10. Then I used the .50/1 coupon that was in their in store flyer a month or so back. They doubled to only .90. This is the first time I have seen this at A&P. I am hoping it was just for this sale, but that's not likely. Has anyone else experienced this?
That was one of the great things shopping at A&P. I know Shop Rite and Pathmark do not give overage.

Is it .90 with the card or without? If without, the system can easily limit you - since it knows the "final" price. If the price is with the card, the machines (at least in the past) have not been "as smart" to know the final price.

Overage was eliminated around the time of the last triples.

Not sure either way, but I am inclined to think that it's the same deal with the Target Q's that self adjust and don't allow for overage, unlike the MQ's that would have to be manually adjusted.

Wishful thinking :-)

THis is definitely something that started this week at my store. Other stores (pathmatk, Shop Rite, etc) are programmed to double up to the sale price of the item and not to give overage so it does not have to be manually adjusted. Manually undoubling coupons is another matter.

I got the rice snacks and also received overage. Hoping it was something to do with the veggies, but doubt it.
