Raincheck question

This is kind of a silly question, but I can't remember the last time I used a RC. Do I hand them to the cashier at the beginning so they know to look out for/adjust the price on the item, or wait until the end and hand them over with the rest of my Qs?

Basically, which one will make the cashier hate me less? TIA.
