UPDATED in post #31. Petsmart - Corporate office says there is no 6 oz. pouch of Purina Pro Plan

I called the Petsmart corporate office because the Petsmart nearest me says they don't carry the 6 oz. pouch and neither do the stores in nearby cities.

The young man I spoke with said he couldn't explain why Purina put out a coupon on a product not carried in their stores. I told him the coupon is "Redeemable only at Petsmart" and therefore Petsmart has an obligation to the consumer.

I know some people have found the 6 oz. pouch. If you have found them, please let me know your area. I haven't decided what to do next (i.e. contact Purina, call Petsmart again or something different) but I need to verify that Purina Pro Plan does come in a 6 oz. pouch.

Any other suggestions are welcome. As consumers, I think we deserve a better explanation.

I found them at the Petsmart at Turkey Creek in Knoxville, TN. The bad news is that 6 oz. is a tiny amount of food. The good news is that there is a $3 off Pro Plan coupon in the bag. Good luck.

I called Petsmart corporate and was given several different answers. One rep said they did not carry that size. One rep said only certain markets got the size. One rep had no clue.

I am still waiting for the manager of my local store to check it out.

Please keep us posted and help me keep brainstorming. I bought a TON of coupons and I'm not giving up. I begged, borrowed and traded for them. Notwithstanding my wasted time and money, I believe Petsmart owes us the free pouches because their name is on them.

The coupons were in the paper I have home delivered. That means I should be able to use them in my neighborhood. Petsmart should have been sitting on this stock and waiting for the coupon to come out so they would be ready. Their wishy washy answers aren't satisfactory. I want them to ship some of those bags to my area so I can buy them....that's your expectation when you get a coupon in your Sunday paper.

Keep the ideas and experiences coming. I'm probably going to try a call to Petsmart one more time and then call Purina.

We can get this job done. Petsmart doesn't want to take on a HCW crowd with fists full of coupons.

Throw in some phrases such as "false advertising" and "bait and switch" along with "negative publicity."

Also add in the fact that over 200,000+ viewers of this board (and more counting the lurkers) can have a noticeable effect on their sales.

but, remember that these coupons were put out to a certain area. some traders are reporting that they arent finding the pouches in their area and some of these areas did not get the coupon.

:shrug7: i got the 6oz pouch q and i posted in one of these threads what the store i went to said. I will be calling corp tomorrow and will also call Purina. I am SOOO not even half way finding this amusing

I am in the Chgo land area and my local Petsmart did have the 6 oz. pouches. One tiny little hanging strip of them - what a joke. They were also out of stock on the larger bags in the afternoon on Sunday.

I live in South Carolina, just over the state line from Charlotte, NC. I bought the Charlotte Observer and the coupon was in there. I went to the Petsmart in south Charlotte at Rivergate Shopping Center.

Petsmart corporate office told me they do not sell the 6 oz. pouch - clearly that was not true as some have found them.

I'm still fuming - and thinking about the best way to proceed.

I was about to ask if anyone has found them but then I saw this. I'm in Houston and we got the q but I went to Petsmart by my house and they don't have them. The smallest I found was I think a 9oz :sad: and I did trades for them.

Today, the shipment came in! So keep calling your store. I did lodge a complaint with petsmart and corp called me back yesterday to let me know to check today. Sure enough they were there!

I decided to go to Petsmart one more time to check out the situation. They had PLENTY of the pouches and the bags. I am a happy couponer!

I bought 10 bags and 12 pouches. I have more coupons for the pouches but I didn't want to wear out my welcome. :hysterical:

I went to petsmart today and got some of the free 6lb bags and I asked the manager(I think she was the manager) if they had the 6oz pouch she said no but she also pointed out that I could use the q on the 9oz bag, where they write the amount it says up to $3 so she let me use them on the 9oz that was $1.19 so Free. The only kind I found was the Toy Breed Formula it's perfect for my chihuahua.

I think there are coupons in the shredded blend as well but I didn't grab any. If you "squish" the pouches around a bit, you should be able to see the coupon.

I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I looked up and down the dog food asile and the 6oz pouch wasn't there, it was hanging on one of these peg thingys( like what Walmart puts their little stuff on) at the end on the asile and the pouches sell for .99 cents. I also got the free can of dog food when you buy 2.
Right now my store has the 3.5 bag of Pro Plan Puppy food on sale for 4.99, so with the coupon makes it 1.99

A store in the next county told me that they don't have them but that there's going to be a huge reset for all consumables in the next week or two and to check back then because they might come in.

I'm not even worrying about the pouches, the store closest to me won't even let me use more than one coupon per transaction per person per day. Even if I bring my sister and fiance, they won't let me use more. I'm getting totally sick of this store. I've left 5 messages for the district manager and have never gotten a call back. I finally called corporate but they said it can take up to 7 business days to get a call back. I may have no choice but to drive well over an hour to go to another county to use these or let them expire, gah, not a very good choice!

The manager at my store said that the Manufacturer changed the size of the pouch from 6 to 9 oz. I had to do battle with the manager on duty to get her to accept the coupon. It was the same price for Pete's sake! Just a bigger bag. Anyway, they are all out, hopefully, they will get more soon.

Where were the pouches? I was there yesterday and I didn't see them anywhere, asked and got told they've never carried such a thing. I also had an awful time checking out. They told me I could only use one coupon per transaction and I couldn't do multiple transactions per time in line. So I had to get in and out of line 14 times to pay for my 14 free 6lb bags, AFTER waiting 15 mins for the "manager" to call his loss prevention guy. The Bradenton store did the same thing to me when I went in for 8 bags. I'm really tired of being told by corporate that I'd have no problem when I get to a store, I drive an HOUR to get there and then have major problems there.

i found a bunch at one store near me on an end cap....then another store had them hanging next to the big bags...the same store had some sitting on a shelf...so look around if you can not find them

Well both cashiers were arguing with the supervisor, Larry, that there was no problem with what I was trying to do and that it was insane to make me do one at a time and have to keep getting back in line. But apparently, he felt that he and some loss prevention guy that he HAD to call were correct. He had me wait and hold up the line the entire time he was trying to get a hold of loss preventation because of my "fraudulant" coupons but I couldn't do multiple transactions and hold up his line. I've already called and complained about the bradenton store telling me one coupon per transaction no matter what the coupons say, no matter how many items I purchase. That case was opened on Friday and I'd better get a call back this time (I've called the DM four times already and have never gotten a call back). I asked the rep I spoke to if I should have a problem. I told her exactly what items I planned on getting and read the entire coupon to her, she said I'd have no problem but alas, I did. I told the supervisor that I had called, whom I spoke with and the case number and he still said that his loss prevention guy and he trump anything said by corporate CS.

I walked the entire store looking for the white hanging strips and never saw them, grr. It was just an all around bad day Sunday.

Only select areas got a 6lb bag free coupon, others got a $5 off coupon instead. I traded for mine.

FYI- There is a 6oz bag. I found 5 bags hanging on a strip down the treat isle. They were not w/ the dog foods.

The 6oz bags were surprisingly large. It looks like 1 1/2 cups of food in it, and the package is like 10 inches tall and 6 inches wide.

I'm going to call the St Pete store. It'll be worth the cost of the toll if I find them and don't have issues like I do in Manatee stores.
