FINALLY got around to checking out the Hanscom Commissary today. Definitely worth the trip... I still managed to save 30% even though this was our post-PCS 'stock-up' and I bought stuff to send to DH that I didn't have coupons for.
the large 28 oz cans of DelMonte corn, peas, greenbeans for 50 cents, plus there was a tearpad coupon for 30 cents off 6.
Butterball turkey bacon for 1.00 plus there was a tearpad for 50 cents off!!!! Between Mom and I, we came home with a dozen of 'em!
4cup bags of Kraft shredded cheese for $2.
4 pack of Crackerbarrel cheeses for 3.78
Oust 2.29 less $2/1 coupon (edit by PMFan: coupon expires 5/5)
El Paso taco seasoning 39 cents less 1/2 coupons from 4/29 paper
Challenge Butter 1/2 lb box for 1.09 less 75/1 coupons (got these a LONG time ago on ebay... expire in June). We bought all they had!
Their bargain meat wasn't marked down all that much, so that was a bummer, BUT they were the most coupon-friendly commissary I've ever seen. Everything went through, no problems with overage, no anal cashiers... we'll probably try to get there once a month.

I went yesterday, seems like everything I had a coupon for was higher even with the coupon than the brand that weren't on sale. I far as I was
concerned I was really disappointed for the stuff that was supposed to be on sale. :-( I did get one really good deal. I have 3 of those Allavert $6 coupons. I can't seem to find those trial sizes anywhere around here. But the commissary had the 24 count boxes of Allavert for $7.49, so I was happy I got them for $1.49. Not free, but I think it was a good deal. I wasn't able to go on our Wild and Wacky Wendesdays for the really good deals. Crud. Oh well, better luck next time. I also clearly see I need more coupons for the things we really use.

I don't think either of my commissaries has something like wild & wacky wednesdays. Pretty much straightforward what is in the monthly adverts (except for an occasional shopping cart of about to expire caramels or marshmallows-lol).

Seems to vary per commissary, when we were in Wichita Falls, Tx at Sheppard, there wasn't anything like there is here. However both are pretty small bases. I am gonna have to try and go during those special times...lol.

i saved 43% today! WOOT! ok, not as good as the 66% someone else posted, but anything over 20 is good for me! lol! here's some things i found ~ not sure if this is like "nationwide" or whatever or if it's just a sale our post is having (there's a case lot sale on the 18th here as well), but worth looking for?
i don't remember the expiration dates on these q's (some exp 5/31, some don't exp til end of june, some later...), and i didn't grab extras (kid on a sugar-high in tow, plus payday "traffic" in the store was terrible!! :P sorry!).
i can try & grab some tomorrow if there's an interest though.
honey bunches of oats, asst flavors $1.50 - $1.00/1 tearpad ... these were by the front door
koolaid packets .07 each, tear pad coupon for buy 10, get 10 free
kraft bbq sauce was .69c each ~ tearpads hanging off the display: buy 3 listed kraft items, get $1.00 off beef (pictured was the kraft bbq sauce, mayonnaise and some other things)... these were also by the front door
powerade 32oz bottles .60 each - .50/2 peelies exp 12/31/07
small jars of vlasic sweet relish (also dill relish) .69c each - .75/1 MFG = overage no problems
bullseye bbq sauce .99 - .55/1 hangtag

chore boy sponges .59c - .55/1 MFG
on a side note, there's a new policy floating around our commissary where the cashiers have to check .... every.... single.... coupon.... fine print and all ...before they scan them. my coupons totaled $49.60 after they all scanned, so that should tell you how long it took!! i'm not complaining tho ~ it was well worth it!

argh. now i'm kicking myself for not grabbing any extras yesterday. the cereal is still on display up front, but no $1./1 coupons to be found anywhere.... i even checked the cereal aisle, all the end caps, and asked a cashier about them. the cashier didn't know for sure but said it was probably just a one day special they were having. sorry gf! i'll keep checking tho ~ usually those coupons find their way to their appropriate aisles eventually before they expire.
i did find some $1/4 oscar mayer cold cuts coupons in the little hanging boxes and .25/1 any sargento cheese 5oz+ tearpads that i didn't notice yesterday. some of the OM balogna is on sale for $1.00 and the sargento's were $1.39-$1.89, depending on the flavor. i have 7 or 8 of the sargento's and 3 or 4 of the balogna if anyone's interested. when the kids get home from school (in about 2 hours) i'm going to head back up there and put them on coupon picker duty.
ETA ~ ok, coupon picker duty will have to wait til tomorrow --- the poor maintenance man is stuck here til a tow truck comes... his truck died ... and with where we live it could be a few hours before the tow truck shows up!

Not too bad of a commissary run today. Some good deals. Saved $29 in coupons.
KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce on sale for 1.19 -1.00q = .19 woohoo!!
Renu contact solution 6.82 -4.00q = 2.82
Hunts 24oz Catsup sale price .75 -.25q = .50
Zip lock freezer bags pint size 1.59 -1.00q = .59
Once again Allavert allergy medicine 7.38 -6.00q = 1.38!!
There was two ladies chatting behind me and one was making loud comments that people with coupons were wasting their time and everyone elses, they weren't worthwhile, ect. I just smiled and continued. Once I was done the cashier said he had not seen very many people with that kind of savings. So I turned to the lady making the comments, voice slightly raised, smiled sweetly and (borrowing a sig line I've seen here)said I may take longer, but I leave with more money in my checkbook, turned and walked away... to leave her standing with her mouth open!! The last part was a bit off topic, but felt it still applied...lol.

Still finding the $1/2 kraft dairy tearpad. It's good on singles string cheese for overage. I've also been combining 1 string cheese w/ breakstones cottage doubles (.89) or breakstones sour cream ($1). Hoping the 8 oz kraft blocks go back down to $1 soon. I'm almost out.
Mrs. Dash marinade $1.69 - $1/1 insert + $1 meat wyb Mrs. Dash tearpad.
Heinz 57 sauce $2 +/- (can't remember) - $1/1 Heinz 57 insert + $1/1 fresh/frozen meat wyb Heinz 57 ht found on bottles

1st time I've been excited about shopping @commissary!! Went to Oceana on Fri w/some really great coupons! Expected to spend $100 w/o any meat purchase, rang up $80 & w/coupon discount got down to $60. Would have been $10 dollars less but made a mistake w/oscar mayor ham & got 3 $3 dollar packs instead of the $1.25 pack. Anyways Murray cookies were $.69 w/.50 coupon...can you say 19 cents!! I tried to grab em all!! Then they had j&j shea butter lotion for $1.97 had $1 coupon making them .97!! Got 5 cans of van camps pork n beans for .95!! And poptarts 8 count were on sale...got one free w/buy 3/$1 off coupon!! I was so excited! Hadn't been to this commissary in months, was trying to do the list thing and shop @ WG, E, and other stores to get the good deals but you just can't beat the commissary!!!

Found a few good deals yesterday:
CBAD ravioli .75 - $1/3 IP
Crunch n Munch 4 oz box .50 - .30/1
Kid Crusine $1.15 - $1/2
The above qualify for the ConAgra $10 wyb 15 rebate, so an additional .67 off each item after rebate as well. The crunch n munch is a real money maker w/ this deal!
Purina ONE natural blends cat food $5.49 - $4/1 military tp on shelf
Mrs. Dash marinade $1.69 - $1/1 and $1 fresh meat wyb Mrs. Dash.
Boca lasagna single serve $1.89 - $1/1 insert
Ziploc "big bags" were $3.5? (I think). Seemed like an ok deal w/ the $2/1, but I didn't get any.
There is another $1/1 any Kellogg, Sunshine, Keebler military tp out - ex 5/31. Most of these were taped to big boxes of cereal in the value mart, but I found a few on a shelf. I used them on Sunshine saltines .99, and Kellogg sweet and salty granola bars $1.99 that also had a $1 milk wyb tp on the shelf. Since I was already buying milk, it made these free. If you find these, a few other deals would be poptarts for $1.55 ea or Keebler crumb pie crusts (near cake mixes) were $1.2?. I didn't want to take the ones taped to the boxes, but I may have to go back on the 31st and if they are still out, help myself before they go to waste.
