CVS has a new promotion on CVS.com. For every $25 in eGift Cards you buy, you will receive a $5 bonus gift card! You get $30 for $25!
eGift Cards can be printed right from your computer and used in the store immediately after purchase. Think of how far you can stretch that bonus $5!
Be sure to go here (https://cvs.cashstar.com/gift-card/buy/) to get started. It's only available for a limited time!
You might have to call 1-877-259-7078 from 8:00am to 8:00pm to verify your purchase.

We're shopping there anyway so we may as well make our money go even further. If my math is right, when you spend $25 on an eGift card and get the $5 eGift card, you already have a 20% savings right away. (5 divided by 25, right? Check me.)
And yes, you can send them to yourself.
For every $25 worth of Gift Card by Email (eGift Card) purchased, the purchaser receives a $5 eGift Card
Limited time offer
You will receive one eGift Card based on your total purchase.
See Reward Chart at right for reward values. (See Reward Terms & Details under the big red box on the right.)
eGift Card purchase total is limited to $150 per single transaction. Please see additional terms on the Terms and Conditions page.
Offer found here: https://cvs.cashstar.com/gift-card/buy/

Can you use the eGift Card in the store or only for CVS.com (epurchases). If only online, I'm not interested because you can't really use coupons or ECB's very effectively. If you can use it in the store how does that work. Do you print it out and take it with you?

Just a heads up that it takes at least several hours (at least in my case) for these to get processed. (I got my "you ordered this" confirmation right away, but have yet to receive the e-certificates.)

This sounds like a good deal. I think I will wait until others have tried it and make sure it all works ok though.
Do e-cards expire?

When does the eGift Card expire?
There is no expiration date on your eGift Card. We recommend that you redeem it soon after you receive it, so you don't forget.

I read on another site of someone buying a $150 ecard. They got an email with a printable card with a barcode. She got a separate email for her $30 bonus. The bonus email subject read "Your $5 bonus" even though it was for a $30 one. You have to love another way to save 20% on your OOP.

Do you have to use it all up in one transaction - - the ecard? or is it like a normal one that just dwindles down as you use it for your SMALL oop amounts?
TIA!

That's what I'd like to know, it's really no good if you have to use it all at once. I'd never spend $25-$30 in one transaction.

A head up. Last night I ordered $150 gift card. It was around 10 or 11 PM. Anyway, I just found a message on my cell phone that I needed to call in and verify some info because my order was over $100. So I just called in and after I got off the phone, I rec'd both certificates within seconds in my email. The woman said that it was because it was my first time ordering and that I shouldn't have this problem the next time I place an order.
I was also just scrolling through my email and I also rec'd an email asking me to call in before they issued the certificates.
So if anyone is wondering what might be delaying their certificates, this could be it.

I also received a phone call regarding my order. Certain information about the order/payment needed verified. Because of internet fraud, etc., the processing company is taking this extra step before processing the transaction for the protection of the card holder. While it did delay my order, I appreciate this practice.
I ordered the $150 one. It came in one e-mail and then the $30 bonus came in another.

I printed my eGift Card yesterday, here is what's on the bottom of it:
...
PROTECT THIS CARD AS YOU WOULD CASH!
This card may be used just like cash toward purchases at any CVS/pharmacy. Cannot be used to purchase money orders or prepaid cards. Not redeemable for cash or credit except where required by law. CVS/pharmacy cannot replace or replenish the card if it is lost, stolen or used without your authorization. Call Customer Service toll-free at 1-877-295-7777 should you have any problems concerning your gift card. To check the balance of this card, visit www . cvs . com. This gift card has no expiration date, and no dormancy or inactivity fees will be charged. Gift card retains unused balance. Balance cannot be transferred or recharged
PLEASE TREAT THIS eGIFT CARD LIKE CASH and SAFEGUARD IT ACCORDINGLY.
...
In the first line it says "toward purchases" (more than one) and also says "Gift card retains unused balance." Also, you can check your balance on their website, so I would take that to mean you don't have to spend it all in one transaction. One big eGift card could fund my CVS habit for a very long time. :giggle2:
I'm going to keep it in my wallet with my CVS card so I don't forget about it. But it is only printed on regular paper, so I'm wondering how worn out it might get before I spend it all. Maybe I should have printed it on heavier paper.

I will confirm these are usable in store and can be used in quantities less than the whole amount. However, if the register is in payment mode it evidently won't scan? Anyway, it had to be typed in by hand. Amount remaining shows up on receipt.

I need to know too, as this would be the only way I'd do the offer.
Also, what happens when you make a purchase? Does the cashier print a new eGC for the remaining balance?
One disadvantage to regular GCs is that these are sheets of paper which get worn out eventually. I keep my regular GCs (plastic cards) in my wallet for months until I use them up, but I wouldn't keep a folded email printout for that long (although I suppose we can just reprint them if they become too worn out).

I am thinking of ordering in more than one transaction, so I get smaller amounts. Then I could put one in my purse and the other(s) some place safe... which I probably will lose for a year and a half before I find it again :giggle2:
I am wondering if you can use the e giftcard to purchase other gift cards, such as Applebee's or Best Buy. If so, this would really be a sweet deal :BigHand:

I used my $25 eGift card for a $5.51 purchase. The cashier scanned the barcode on the page but it beeped at him. He did that several times. But then pushed some buttons and then scanned it and it went through. When I asked him what was wrong he said he was just doing it wrong the first time.
The bottom of my receipt looked something like this:
Total 5.51
Gift Card 5.51
************xxxx
Auth: xxxxxx
Account Balance: 19.49
Change: .00
The cashier does not print another eGift card. You keep your eGift card after they scan it, just like you would a regular plastic gift card. What I did was write the date, amount and remaining balance on the back of the eGift card since I know I won't be able to remember the balance later.
I'm thinking of placing a big strip of clear packing tape over the barcode area just to keep that part from wearing out. If they can't scan the barcode they can enter the numbers by hand, so that's the main thing you don't want to wear out.

I received the call about 5 minutes after placing my order. Since I knew it was coming - I actually answered! They asked if I placed the order, who the issuing bank was, the customer service number on the back of the card, and the "type" of card i.e. "signature", "rewards". They may have also asked if it was a visa or mc. They didn't ask for the card number, exp. date, or cvv. 5 minutes later I had my gift cards.

Thanks Ids, that's exactly what I needed to know. Rep'd ya.
Just like Ids said, I first received the phone call but they offered to email me the questions since I was on my cell. Here's the email I then received:
Dear xx,
Thank you for purchasing a CVS eGift Card! For cardholder protection, we need to verify additional information regarding the credit card used.
The information we need to continue processing this transaction and deliver your gift is as follows:
-Card issuing bank (Capital One, Bank of America, California Bank & Trust, etc)
-Type of card (Platinum, Gold, Business, Gas Rewards, Gift Card, etc)
-Customer Service Phone Number off the back of the card.
At your convenience, please reply to this email with that information or call our eGift Card Support Line at: 1-877-259-7078 between the hours of 8am and 8pm EST, 7 days a week. You can leave a message at any time if we're not available, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you again, xx, for choosing the CVS eGift Card! We look forward to hearing from you.
I ended up calling the phone number from my landline. She asked for order # and then verified the above info and said she'd email the e-cards within 15 mins.
By the time I've written this I received them. One confirming order, one for $10 bonus and one for $50 e-card.
Still seems too good to be true :BigHand:

e-cards don't have to be printed in color!
From FAQ page (https://cvs.cashstar.com/about/faq/):
Do I need a special printer? Do I need to print color?
No and no. Most standard office and household printers are equipped to print eGift Cards, and you do not need to print in color. Some printers produce great results, and older printers sometimes don't print certain images well, but the most important thing is that the code number below the eGift Card is clear. If it is not, you may need to install a new ink cartridge.

I've used mine at two different stores so far and neither had seen them before. The first store figured out they have to choose "gift card" on the screen first, and then hand key or scan the UPC. The first store keyed it in, the second store scanned it AFTER choosing "gift card" on the screen. It really is that simple. It's a shame the stores weren't better informed of these.

I don't even know who to rep. Rep'd a few, but you all gave such great info.
I wish I could convert it to a "real" GC. I don't know if it is outside the rules (please don't give me a infraction if it is - I'm not trying to do anything wrong). Anyway, I bought some appliance or something last year and returned it because it was do-do quality. As a result, they gave me a GC. They couldn't give me my $$ back, because it was paid with ECBs or GC. Maybe buying a product and returning it is an option.
I just know that I don't want to carry around a gift card that is a piece of paper. Too many of those pieces of paper don't end up where they should.
That said - I'm still ordering because I am a CVS addict and I have no choice.

F A B U L O U S ! !
This was just the info I was looking for! We get alot of scripts too and this would be great. Thanks for the info! Repped ya!
Purchased a couple of $50 egift cards just to try them out and used them to pick up 4 prescriptions a couple of days ago.
My co-pays on the 4 scripts came to $36...and I used the egift cert just fine! The CSR had never seen one of the egift certs before, so I told her just to follow the instructions on the bottom of the page......&......voila......it worked!! :BigHand:She said she was going to get some for herself too!!
I think I will get some more while they are still available. My family spends alot monthly on Rx's. Love the bonus $5 for every $25 bought!!

I bought a $50 card last week and didn't have to call or have anyone call me to verify my info.
Got the card and the $10 card in my e-mail soon after.
I haven't tried to use them yet, but kept the instructions that printed with them in case the cashier needs them.

Is the card something that you can print again out of your email if you either jam your printer. Or lose it or rip it or get it wet?

This is a really good question that I was wondering about also. I purchased $100 gift card a week or so ago, so I decided to try it. I kept all the e-mails from CVS when I bought it and I just now clicked on that link entered my e-mail address and there it is. It stays there and it asked if I wanted to print out the page--I did not do it, but I could have. So to answer your question, yes you can reprint it if needed.:BigHand:

Just noticed this on CVS's website, the deal is u send a giftcard by e-mail and u get to pick the design and insert the details. You get $5 in eGiftcards for every $25 eGiftcard u spend. and it would be $10 eGiftcard if u send $50 eGiftcard and so on. So you're sort of rewarded for sending a gift card this way. I haven't read about this before, please disregard if it's old news.

It says $150.00 limit per transaction, but if I wanted to invest $200.00, I could do this 4 times at $50.00 each right? Has anyone done this several times in smaller amounts?
I would safer with smaller gift cards, forreeeeel!

I did it 3 times - 2 for $25 and 1 $50.

Good deal! I did 3 @ $50. I just couldn't imagine carrying around a $150.00 piece of paper. LOL! These are already the most expensive photocopy's I've ever owned! But what a great investment. That's a 20% return. Can't find that in a savings account.
CVS better not close! :hysterical:

Is there a trick to getting the register to accept the e-Gift cards?? I unfortunatly purchased a $150.00 gift card and have had issues using it. I found only one store in my area that can accept my card.

The directions on how to process them are right on the bottom of the e-gift card. Just point it out to your cashier and you should have no more problems!:wavehi:
