Is there a huge difference in quality/flavor between the different brands? I bought a Jennie O, but now I'm thinking I may want to get a Butterball for the family dinner? Hmmmm....:new16:

I was wondering the same thing. I thought jennie-o was a good brand though.

I've had Jennie-O. There allright although a Turkey seems like a turkey to me. I don't care much for it but eat it as part of the tradition, lol.

I'm planning on getting a Jennie-O today at Dillons. I have a $5/1 coupon that I got in the mail a while back. Yessss.

Turkey's turkey. It is how you prepare it that makes the difference.

I agree Trish....
I have directions on how to slow cook a turkey (and also a whole chicken) that is wonderful!!! Not sure I should post the directions here though.....I mean it is a Grocery Sales Forum, but if the moderators agree, I will...........
otherwise I could just pm it to ya i guess if you like!
Happy T-day everyone !!!!

I went to Dillons on St. Louis today and asked and they're out and not planning to get more of the Jenny-O turkeys (and she seemed to imply that was true *everywhere*)! So sad, I was counting on that! They're also out of the 59-cent ones, but they're getting more of those in on Friday.
So if anyone's store in Springfield happens to have the Jenny-O ones, let me know?
On a flavor note, I think it's all in how you cook it. Especially if you're eating it with gravy and stuffing and such, you're definitely not going to be able to tell any difference (if there even is one)!
