Has anyone notice there is a crisis with eggo waffles or is it just our little town that we have noticed it.

The first sign of a crisis was the signs that went up in our stores Limited no more then 3 per person once out we are OUT.

The second sign there is a crisis shortage bare shelves and a sign saying coming soon. hmmm!!:shrug7:

The third sign of a crisis was announced on our news today there is a Eggo Crisis going on due to the fact of a plant in Atlanta that was flooded and full production will resume by middle of the year 2010
OK
Which is true I found the following on their website Kellogg Company - Eggo FAQ (http://www2.kelloggs.com/general.aspx?id=3006&terms=eggo)

Eggo recently experienced supply constraints caused by flood damage at our bakery in Atlanta. In addition, we've been making significant equipment and repairs in our largest waffle bakery. Unfortunately, this is taking longer than anticipated.

Eggo is working around the clock to bring everyone's favorite waffles back to store shelves as quickly as possible. We hope to regain full distribution of Eggo products by the middle of 2010. This is a top priority for Kellogg Company.
For more information, call 866-971-3320. Thank you for your patience during this time, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Is it just my family going through Eggo with drawl:whistle67:

It was bad when I find a sale for the Eggo's only to find out I can only get 3, well we sort of went around that I got three and then later my husband got 3 (hey, what can I say if it is Eggo crisis we need to stock what we can?) Now in our house the Eggo is sacred no one eats Eggo unless they have gone two days without a Eggo Waffle (harsh I know though we got to survive this crisis and stretch them out)

Well I do apologize this a little long though I am just hoping my family isn't the only family being affected by this Eggo Crisis's.

I guess it is a happy moment for ole waffle iron, He gets all the years of dust and grime brushed off, lovely and tenderly oiled, and excitedly waits for some good ole fashion use and just before the holidays. OH Boy, I think he is more excited then us for the day of reckoning.

Yeah, one of the non-chain stores I shop has had a sign up for months now about the Eggo shortage. I noticed a few times at Sams, they didn't have the big box on the shelf.

We've seen the signs up here but the only thing thats been oos is the chocolate chip variety. Everything else is always full. I figure it might happen eventually but I'd prefer a fresh waffle off the iron anyday so its not too harsh in my world.

I saw that too! I'm glad it's not a food safety issue. I bet they come out with really good coupons when everything is back online and running smoothly.

I've seen the signs around here, too. I haven't searched for a specific variety...but, there have always been Eggo's on the shelf behind the sign. :shrug7:

I know I saw at stores here in MA signs saying there was a shortage of Eggo products. I really thought this was some plan to jack the price up. But I haven't noticed they've been wiped out yet in our stores. Hope not, i have some coupons to use up before next week.

Are you serious? A freaking shortage of eggo products.

LOL are we really that worried about waffles? I mean seriously? So worried that they have to make signs and all. LOL

I saw the signs a few weeks ago at my Food Lion. That day they had none and the next they were fully stocked. I stocked up a while back when they were doing the rebate. 10 boxes goes a long way in our house w/ just me and DH.

Yep, here in Indiana that sign has been up for some time now and the past few times I have went the shelves are EMPTY. Nothing from Eggo brand. Thats such a shame, my son loves them. I guess it was a good thing the last time they were on sale in early summer and I had q's I bought around 20 boxes. I think I still have 4 boxes left, so they need to hurry up.

I cant run out until school is done.

Looks like I'm actuallly going to have to break out our waffle maker. Haven't made them in several years. Actually, they're not too hard. And, obviously, they freeze well.

I wondered why they were empty. I thought there was some deal I had not heard of :)
We were in the flood area, not the worst of it but freakish flooding for this part of the country.

There have been signs up for a while at my store, and there were nothing but empty shelves behind that sign. Last night the shelves were jam packed though.

I have seen the signs and glad to hear its a flooding issue, is it was a issue with contamination I would be sad. Eggos are the only waffle brand we eat (except for homemade) seriously leggo my eggo:biggrin:

You know what is weird, I went to my Shaw's yesterday and they had plenty but most of the smaller packages of waffles were cheaper than they usually are on sale for the shelf price. I was happy but don't shortages usually mean prices go up. lol

We haven't seen a huge issue with it here. did see something funny from batter blaster (organic pancakes /waffle batter in a can) about how they're solving the crisis:

Waffle crisis?? Not in my house!!!! LOL.
I have a year supply after that amazing Kellogg deal a few months ago. My crisis is it is taking up my second freezer space! :-)

Have you thought about making your own waffles? It is super easy. If you have a waffle iron (if not, you can get them cheap on ebay, at yard sales, or craigslist...or ask for one for your birthday!)...google recipes and one day when you have time, make an enormous batch of them and freeze them. I used to take a Sunday once every few months and make zillions of them and freeze them. Super easy. Super cheap.
