You're not the only one! I keep refreshing the forum waiting for the new ad, and refreshing my email waiting to hear that my friend who is in labor has had her baby.

An exciting day indeed!

jmupole1, jumped in last week since Sandy wasn't able to post at her normal time. I was hoping she'd be so generous again. ;) I know Pam also posts, but I think she is not able until the evening most times. Several weeks ago I emailed GE and they gave me a number to call to receive the ad in my mailbox, but nothing so far. :(

I'm anxiously waiting too!

Funny Face, could you pass on that number for ad delivery? I don't get it here in the paper because I don't live in a target zip code.

Anyone else's store not have ads last week? Mine never got paper copies of the ad and the lady told me they print less at the holidays but theirs never arrived. Sounded fishy to me... :)

Oh wow we are all so SPOILED!! I start looking on Sundays now since that one week it was posted early...or was that a dream? I ordered my coupons on ebay, they got here Wednesday, my list was made and OFF I went to get free stuff.

My store has been very nice to me lately. I should ask if they get them and see if I can get one. They like seeing how much I am taking out of the store for what obnoxiously low amount of money.

The prices on ebay are high $4.99 for 10...but I found at mycouponhunters, they are 25 cents each. Hurry if you are interested.

Also found them on thecouponclippers for 30 cents each, limit 10.

My new hobby is getting free stuff from GE each week. This week it was 60 lbs of birds eye veggies - and all those steeler bucks. I only brought 50 lbs into my house the rest went to friends because hubby would kill me. I also got the free broth once - may do one more time not sure if I have enough coupons. Oh and the Uncles Bens rice - got 20 of those for FREE.

yeah, a bit early to start, but I wanted to ask about the new add.

so far I ordered coupons for the Swiss Miss...50/2
popcorn 40/1
birds eye 50/1
febreeze air effects 100/1

I got these from ebay (buy it now) and have looked at a few other clipping sites, but it just seems like you have to order so many (at least 3 or so dollars) and some sites dont always have what you want.

My question...what are your favorite sites to order from?
what do you do with the coupons you don't use? Do I have to be a trader to give them away or do a RAOK for locals? I skimmed thru the trader forum and it just seemed a bit overwhelming.

Is it just me or is this a great week at Giant Eagle. It was worth waiting for an add like this. I've ordered so many coupons.

Here is what I am planning on getting:

16 Boxes of Post Shredded Wheat - 0.15 a box
16 Dawn Hand Renewal - 0.25 each
12 Febreze Air Effects - 0.25
4 Mr. Clean - FREE + $1 MM
20 Breakstone Sour Cream 0.15 each (I will be giving some of these away:biggrin:, but I have heard from several people that if you store then upside down in your fridge they keep for a LONG time, can anyone confirm this)
15 packages Hefty plate and cups = FREE
60 bags Birds eye veggies = FREE
40 Boxes Swiss Miss - $8 for all
12 Boxes Ziploc bags - $3 for all after rebate
10 Wheat Thins = FREE after rebate
And I think that is all.

What will you be getting?

I always order my q's from ebay. I have the .75 hefty plates & $1 pepsi cube coming to me. DH is addicted to Mountain Dew & I freak if I have to pay full price. I'm gonna get him 12 cases & hope it lasts until the next sale but that's unlikely.:rolleyes24:

Thank you! I was able to get the Hefty and find a few others to meet the $3 minimum. Will you pm me with your name, if you're comfortable with that, so I can email it to owner and you will get a discount?

My favorite place is The Coupon Clipping Crew. The only downfall is you have to order early because they are in Texas.

What the heck.

There isn't a RP insert this week - so that explains the RP missing  If you had the paper delivered and there wasn't an insert - call the paper and let them know part of the paper was missing and ask if a replacement paper can be delivered. If you bought the paper at a store, I've had luck going immediately back to the store and explaining that it's missing (I've also called first and let them know I'm coming up to exchange the paper lol)

I check every paper now - I don't rip it apart, I just open it up and flip through the inserts to make sure everything I need it there - especially when I'm buying 10-20 papers at a time, I take the time to make sure the coupons are there!

I use *edited by mod...please note that only HCW approved clipping sites should be mentioned on the board.* They are in Dayton Ohio. They post new the new coupons really early too. Last week she had some of them up on Thursday. I ordered on Saturday and got them in the mail on Monday! She has a $2 order min., but shipping is FREEEEE! Most coupons cost 20/$1 too. I also do ebay and mycouponhunter, and thecouponclippers.

edit: sorry, I forgot that was against HCW rules. If someone would like to know the site please PM me.

Is anyone else worried about the Energizer battery deal? It's on pg. 14 Energizer Max AA 2pk 5/$5. It's with the "Holiday Values" products. The disclaimer at the bottom of the page states "Holiday items available at participating locations, selection may vary". I bet this 2pk of batteries will be considered a holiday item.

I'm thinking we'll be seeing these in the store's holiday section rather than where the batteries normally are. I just bought a bunch of q's for this off of eBay and am thinking rain checks might be needed for this but who knows if they'll be stocked back up before the q's expire on 12/31!!??

I am going to have my Giant Eagle order the energizer batteries for me. So I am not worried about the stock at all. I order things from them all the time, and besides the customer service girlies thinking I am crazy, they don't seem to mind it at all. I had them order me 200 ginger bread cookie pouches and 50 cookie sheets for the childrens church group I am involved in. When I asked the store manager if he would order me THAT many, he looked at me kinda funny and said "knock your self out!" I have talked to the store manager about it, and he likes the increased sales volume my purchases bring because that is the metric by which he is measured. Plus he said they recover the cost of the discount and coupons from manufacturer reimbursement, and for charging for shelf and ad space, so they are not losing money and at the same time they are increasing sales volume. A manager understands that, and should welcome your order. The only thing NOT recovered is the cost of the doubling, but they still usually don't lose money on coupon deals.

I didn't see the Energizer in mine, but I do have the Orville in the Columbus Dispatch. This is the only paper I buy now because the coupons are now lacking so in most of the other papers. I think there might be a couple of good inserts in the the Dayton, Cincinnati and Lima area, but I believe most of those in the East and Northeast not as good as before. I speak for the Canton Repository, Akron Beacon Journal, Times Reporter, Jeffersonian and Coshocton Tribune. I've been hearing the Plain Dealer has gone down hill too. Oh and the prices just keep going up. :hectic1:

Yes, you've got it!

I answered in chit chat just in case. It's deal related, but imho my answer not so much. :wink7:

LOL, FunnyFace...your post is fine for the regular deal thread. You are answering someone's question about a deal scenario. Perfectly legal!

My coupons arrived, yay! I have a question since this is the first time I ever bought Q's. I have 30 Q's forBirdseye. When you use these Q's do you use all 30 in one transaction or go back to the store multiple times so you don't look 'fishy'? KWIM?

There's nothing fishy about using 30 q's for the same product. However, many stores have a limit on how many of the same q's will double in one transaction. My store, for example, will only double 5 like q's per transaction, so I have to separate my Birds Eye's out into 5 per transaction. This obviously doesn't apply to $1 q's that wouldn't double anyway, nor would it apply if you want to use 10 50c q's on 10 different items. It's only on multiple q's for one product.

Since I don't have the luxury of GE close by, I use all mine in that one shopping trip. Sometimes I separate my orders just so I know all the coupons get scanned and I don't have to count. I did this with the Starkist putting it in its own transaction since I knew it would be $0 if all scanned.

If I lived in the same town as GE I would probably make a few trips, but that is just so I could gallivant around and have me time. ;)

I think once you do this a few times you will get to know your favorite cashiers that don't mind scanning a lot of coupons and are happy for your savings. Bottom line though, do what is most comfortable and convenient for you.

Not sure which area you are in but if you want to get Black and Gold bucks you need to break them up into 5 per transaction.

This doesn't work at my store. I went to my absolute favorite, most friendly, will-do-pretty-much-anything-for-me cashier. (She even takes catalinas out of the printer and uses them on my current transaction!) Anyway, quite some time ago I tried to use 6 q's in one transaction. The last one automatically did not double, and she couldn't even get it to go in manually. Sure would save an awful lot of hassle if I could do it all in one transaction...

I feel bad for you guys that can only use a certain number of like coupons per day...I would live at GE if I had to do that. It is bad enough when you have to do separate transactions to get each cat...

It's wonderful to have a cashier that is so friendly, but such a pain to be only one over the limit and not have a way for it go through. Does your store allow multiple transactions if you have 20 like coupon? I know that Sarah's doesn't, but it sounds like you can use 20 like coupons in a day just as long as you split those up.

I'm located in northeast ohio near cleveland. I'm not sure which paper would be the best to buy. I get the Plain Dealer, it costs $1.19 discounted at 1 store near my home. Any suggestions?

For me it's a trade-off. I can only double 4 like q's per day, BUT I can double up to $1. I get a lot of stuff free so I don't complain but it does mean multiple trips during a great sale.

Yeah that would certainly make it worth it. It would actually be nice if my GE did that. If I make a day of it I can hit between 6 and 10 different GE's depending on how big I want to make my circle. If our stores did that it would be worth making a huge trip like that once a week.

Yes, they allow however many coupons you want, but only 5-like per transaction. They also allow pretty much as many transactions as I want. I try to be mindful of other customers though. I always point out that I have a lot of coupons, so they may want to go through another line. If there aren't a lot of lines open, I'll circle around and get back in line for my next transaction. It's just a nuisance to have to do that. I don't understand what difference it makes, but rules are rules, I guess.

I can double up to $1 also, 5 like q's at a time, as many as I want during a day. It would be a lot easier if coupon rules were consistent! And you're absolutely right - I'm not complaining! Just whining, which I shouldn't be doing, since the sales have been great the last couple of weeks.

I live in Stow. I choose to get the PD even though I do not get the RP, because the SS coupons are so much better than what is offered in the Beacon. Various DDM in the area offer the PD on Monday's at .75.

I'm hoping that DDM has some papers tomorrow. That will be the only thing I miss about not working Sunday into Monday 3rd shift. WHatever papers we didn't sell, we got to keep the insert portion, they only need back the actual paper! One week (the one with the Playskool one the front) I got 25 of the SS!
I am getting antsy to get to the bird already. Maybe while baby girl is with the SIL and big girl is at school I'll head on over. In between filling out apps and calling about jobs I'm sure I can squeeze in a trip...

Awesome! I was excited because the one person that I ordered BE Q's from off of ebay, sent me an extra one!

I had an awesome time taking DH shopping with me yesterday. Cameron was at the IL's for the weekend, so we just had Cora with us, and I told DH to come with me and watch me work my magic, lol! I found a $5 off your purchase just laying on the floor that I scooped up (score!) and had a really great cashier. I'm going to a different GE tonight and then I am going to post in the brag thread. Definitely a successful week!

I prefer to do larger orders too... My Dawn Q's came in today so I will be doing 15 transaction between now and wednesday!!

Oh my goodness on 15 P&G! lol I only have two or three of those to do. I do have to figure out how I'm going to do my ConAgra items and dumby me kept forgeting the each SM coupon applies to two not one. Not sure if I'll be able to get raincheck since they are ordering 30 for me. :rolleyes24: I'll probably do one large order of ConAgra since I also will be buying the rest of my groceries there.

I talked it over with my husband and think we'd actually save by exclusively shopping GE instead of running over to WM too because I am undisciplined there. Plus the hassle and time factor. I also feel like I should be more loyal since they are small town here and the great deals I get. Now if the quality goes down and the price doubles, loyalty goes out the window.:whistle67:

I finally got my battery coupons in the mail today and I'm wondering where I can use them. So, far the Giant Eagles I've looked at don't seem to carry the 2 pk energizers. Does anyone shop in the Canton Ohio area and know where to find these? Do they sell these anywhere else? I'd love to stock up on batteries, but don't know where to go!

Look on the regular displays if you can't find a freestanding display - I found them in front of CS at the Bethel rt 88 store - no price at all.

I haven't looked at the Market District Bethel Store - their regular batteries are against the back wall near the bathrooms (on the pharmacy side)

7 of my 17 cats didn't print last night, ugh! I can't for the life of me figure out why. It all rang up shelf, if not I would have only got 9, if it was the different Swiss Miss it would have been even less printing, if it was the 12@ I would not have received the 10 I did. Totally confused. lol Called the catalina company, now waiting on their decision. They still didn't get the ICBINB second transaction right and only sent me one instead of nine. That's a grand total of $37 that I could have saved last night. :( That and I got over charged on the Hellmann's because when he refigured he forgot to remove the original adjustment so that is another $6. Fun Fun, but still greatful for the savings I did have. ;)

I just figured it out! The ones that she rang up 12@ and 8@ counted as sale price and the ones rang up one at time counted as shelf. :hectic1: From now on, I will always make sure each and every one is scanned.

Ok, now I'm gonna have to double check the Bedford store to make sure I didn't miss them. I didn't check the soap section - only the holiday section. Would be nice to get them at Bedford and save us a stop after church on Sunday (basically the only time we're ever in Altoona). I just ordered 15 of the q's, so I'd better find them somewhere!

I used to shop at Walmart all the time and only went to GE every once in a while for meat, but now I don't even like going to walmart anymore, except for dog food. I save so much money at GE and even if things are a couple of cents more, I think the fuel perks helps with that. They remodeled the walmart closest to me this past year and it stinks, would rather go the extra 20 minutes to the one I do like, but I am hoping to score some of Walmart's black friday deals because of a GC we have.

I like going to target too, just probably only a couple of times a month. Target is really good for peely coupons and stuff like that.
