Rainchecks for circular items only?

I went to HT tonight to get a raincheck for the Bertolli Pasta Sauce. The lady at CS looked through the circular for it and could not find it. She then proceeded to tell me that she could not give me a raincheck for it unless it was in the circular.

What??????? I've never heard of such a thing. It's on sale, right? A raincheck is issued when whatever is on sale is out of stock. So it shouldn't matter whether it's in the circular or not.

Can you tell I didn't take no for an answer? :wink7: The manager said to give it to me.

Have any of you encountered this before?

I've heard hinting of this, but I haven't had a problem getting my RC anyway.

I have heard the same thing but never had a problem. Also the Bertolli is in the ad along with all the other unilever items.

Also I would think with the new raincheck policy it would not matter. The CS person has to look it up in their computer and verify the price before writing the authorization code on the RC.

This has happened to me as well.

I have had them look up items in the computer and she couldn't find it (it was items that I am pretty sure were MONTHLY sale items) she would ask me what the sale was for and wrote it for that amount.
I went to get the Karo Syrup during triples (which was montly) and a different white shirt (who I really like) said "well that is a montly sale item, you don't need that you can come back and get it." and I dropped it because he knows I am in there ALL THE TIME. Probably had I pushed it I would have gotten him to get it for me.
