I was at Kroger's today they had a 75 cent peelie on the egg carton .
The peelie was for .75 cents off eggs when you buy any flavor 17.5 oz or larger of the betty crocker cookie mix
I also had a .40 cents off said cookie mix coupon

The cashier refused to use both items saying I had to purchase 2 cookies in order to have it work .

This confused me no where does it say must purchase 2
Also it was for the eggs to be ,75 cents off not the cookies (which I tried to point out to her.

So is she right ?

I thought the cookie q I had would attach to the cookie mix I got then the other coupon would attach to the eggs I bought .

Help please

I know I have used something like this scenario before and no problems

i had a similar problem with the same scenario....the cashier gave me the "but you have to buy the cookie mix" and i said " i did" and pulled it out...she then said "oh" and looked at the coupon to see it was for the eggs....
the $.75 eggs scanned but for some reason it attached to the cookie mix and didnt double right for me...i just chalked it up to one of those things and let it go

you can use the $.40/1 on the cookie mix, and then the $.75/1 on the eggs wub cookie mix...in theory...but some stores will not take both..i know my walmart will not...

the .75 coupon is coded to work on the cookie mix not on eggs. that is the problem, there is no way to code the coupon for eggs unless it is a specific brand of eggs

I would suggest asking for a manager to override the coupon or enter it as a "vendor coupon" if this happens again. You did pay for the cookie mix, you just used a coupon to pay for part of it. The egg coupon should be ascribed to the eggs, even if it won't literally "attach" to it. Any manager worth his/her salt should be able to clearly understand the coupon and force the register to cooperate = some kind of coupon override.

My .02!

At this point, it will cost you more in gas, but atleast you know for next time. Pick your battles. :wink7:
