Hey, just wanted to let you all know that Kroger is running their 20% off one shopping order for those who qualify again. If you check the bottom of your receipt it should state that if you spend X amount of dollars between 11/15 & 12/12, then you qualify to receive 20% off one total shopping order from 12/27 through 01/ 09 !! Last year I participated in this promo & I killed them !! My order came to 1,347.00 (5 carts) after the 20% off & mq, my ordr came to 714.00.... I saved 633.00 !!! My best all time record in one order !!! The Kroger I shop at is located in Cross Lanes West Virginia !!! I'm not sure what areas are participating, but I hope it's in your area !! Check your receipts & if it's in your area be careful, because the cashier will ask you during the redemption time if you want your reward & if you only have one item, then you only get 20% off that order( you can choose which order to redeem), sooooo cross your fingers & hope your Kroger is participating & PREPARE to hit the motherload... !!!! I held on to my reward last year until the New Year's ad came out as to get the best deals possilble !! Good Luck & have fun !!:BigHand::giggle2:

Awesome - I love the Cross Lanes Kroger -- the employees there are so nice... don't get to go there too often but I've never had a problem with them :)

Here's hoping I get this promo! That's so awesome :D

As to answer all of your questions or to address your comments... let me start by saying that yes it was nuts last year & no I wasn't buying for my extended family... I have a family of five which includes THREE teenage boys !! I really did purchase alot of meat & products that rarely go on sale, but mainly I enjoyed stacking the 20% off with Kroger sales, MQ, Kroger reward Q's & my downloaded Q's !!!! I basically spent a little less than my monthly budget & had enough to last way beyond the month ( some paper products & bottled water lasted until May or June !!) To answer when I hand them my MQ's , I first accept the 20% discount & then proceed with the MQ's. I am going to do even better this year because now that I've been through & done that, I am going to start buying multiple papers on weeks that have great Q's & try to seek out & hold onto some really good Q's !!! I like to challenge myself & kick butt !! LOL. Also hbequeen... where do you & your mom live ?

Shes Mid atlantic region and I mostly shop great lakes region but shop sometimes in MidA while visiting her.
I wonder if you have to spend it in the same region you got it in.
GL price are higher BUT if she went to the store that doubles to .99 every day...hmmm.
she gets a 5% senior discount on tuesdays in Mid A though :giggle2:

We got that offer but it's only 10% AND you have to spend $300 to get it... and we don't spend that much, so we won't qualify... I'm bummed!

But yea for you!

The discount IS nice on things we don't usually get coupons for.

If it makes you feel any better, I rarely get any great catalinas/OYNOs! Even when they're supposed to print! :hysterical:

Well I answered my own question. I used moms card at Great Lakes Kroger on Tues and she got 0 points and it didnt even show her point balance at the bottom like it does when you shop at Mid A krogers so it looks like no crossing the border! You have to earn it in the region you got it.

I got it as well! 20% here, so I am really excited. My extended family uses my card as well as my coupons, so this will really really help!

That is the one I mostly shop at as they are really coupon friendly even with the Dunbar one is closer but they are not coupon friendly if you have a stack of them:). LOL But I do go to both and if it something really hot I will drive to St. Albans Krogers or if I at that CVS because of something HOT:). I know the land of Krogers as I told someone that I have 6 in driving distance so feel blessed. I came from land of no double ID and boy I was excited to move where they double. I from VA born and raised there.
Glad to meet so many WV people.

Not a bad day's work !! ( then I had to come home & put it all away). Well worth it !! My coupon savings for the year is over 5,500 !! I'll have to say I'm a little tired... happy, but tired !!I plan to try to live off of my stockpile on 2010 except for fresh foods, wish me luck !!! I hope you all have a very happy New Year filled full of your wishes come true !!!

Great job TammY!

I spent mine Tues I was there over 5 hours and my total before tax was $994 my total after tax and discounts was $398
I skipped produce and 2 or 3 other aisles and Im dissapointed I didnt get everything on my list but it was all I could take I had to go. I wish I had had a helper but my sister was suppose to go and she blew me off instead. My husband and friends all had to work. And my mom had to watch DS so that was worth its weight in gold not to have to take him.
Luckily my other sister did come home and help me put it away though.

Great job !! WOW, you really saved a ton !!:BigHand:, you're lucky you had help putting it all away !! I didn't buy produce either ( I go to Aldi's in Dunbar), but I did hit the meat counter !! Are you going to live off of your stockpile for awhile? Happy New year !!

Dumb question but, how do you know if it's available to you? I know we were only supposed to get 10%, but mine hadn't been mentioned to me and hasn't come off that I'm aware of....

I know I spent the required amount.

PS - you guys did great jobs with your discounts!

hbaqueen
01-01-2010, 07:30:12 AM
It should have been available after the 26th and when you shop after they hit total it should give the cashier the option to ask you if you want to use it.

Tammy- As much as I possibly can yes. Over half of what I got was non food though because we were out of diapers and stuff so that was a big amount of what I spent.
I was in so much pain I had to quit. We shouldnt need to go to the store except for a few things -fresh milk, yogurt ect for a couple months though.
I made my Jan menu and tried to get most of the things for it Tuesday.
I already browned my hamburger and cooked my chicken and foodsavered them into the freezer.
We have been living on our non food stock for some time now and will continue to do so but I did restock on some things with that 20% off and the PG sale.
By golly if I get one next year DH is taking the day off and going with me to help! LOL
And Ill use more coupons too. I had slacked off on the coupon collecting for a few months so I didnt have as many as I could have.
Im going back to only going to the store if I have to and only getting one insert a week for a few months but come next winter if I get one of those 20% Ill be back hot n heavy!! ;)

OKay that worries me because I think it was only good for so many days?? Anyone remember how long she had to use it? Maybe you should call CS on the back og your Kroger card and ask about it?

ETA from OP
shopping order from 12/27 through 01/ 09
So you should be okay but thats weird they have not asked.

Hmm, well I guess in the grand scheme of things its probably a small thing to worry about. I would have spent that amount anyway, discount or not. Maybe next time I go (this week) they'll ask about it. :wink7:

Well an update of sorts. I was finally asked if I wanted to use my 10%, I did. The order wasn't big, so it didn't take off much - better use it or lose it though I suppose.

My order could have been a little larger but I discovered I couldn't use my softsoap coupons on the softsoap 10/$10. They were for the bottles of 8.5 oz. The bottles on sale were 7.5 oz. :(
