Kmart wont price match

I was at our local Kmart today, and while there I looked in the toy dept, and they had the playskool riding/walker toy I wanted to get for the granddaughter, and they had it for $19.79. The same toy is advertised in the walmart flyer for $17.00 . I asked one of the ladies that has worked there for awhile , and asked her if I had the current flyer from walmart, would they price match. NO such luck, she said they loose alot of sales because Kmart will not price match. You think the way the economy is they would price match , so that they could get the sales. Guess I will have to find a different walmart in our area that has the toy, being our store is out of it, and who knows when they will get it in.. :sad:

I think the person to ask is a manager.

I mention this because I once asked a cashier if their restaurant honored their coupons which had expired.

She looked at me like I was from Mars, as in "Why would we ever honor an expired coupon???"

Well, I asked to speak to the manager and he said, "Yes, we honor our coupons which have expired."

That cashier was next to the manager and she got an education that day.

Price matches can depend on the amount of local competition.

Where there is little or no local competition, there is no need to price match.

Where there is a metric ton of local competition (a good example is when a competitor opens up a store nearby), there is a need to price match.

Will KMart do price adjustments? Would love to pick up the leapster games on Wednesday before the madness begins. They are on sale only for Saturday morning but I would be happy to go back then.

Have you tried ordering it online? You should be able to get free site to store shipping.
