Assume these are errors on their part?

"Claims must be postmarked by 1/6/09 and received by 1/13/09."?

I've never done the CoinStar machine before. What are the gift cards? Is it a gift card to the store that the machine is located in or do you get to choose from a list or something.

:smile:Great find OP!

What are the gift cards? Is it a gift card to the store that the machine is located in or do you get to choose from a list or something. They have a variety of gift cards to choose from ~ Lowes, amazon.com, i-tunes, etc. If you go to the coinstar web site, click on "machine locator" & plug in your zip code, you'll get a list of coinstar locations near you. Each location will have icons indicating whether they have gc's or e-certificates. If you click on the icons it will give you a list of what gc's/e-certificates they have.

What are the fees on these machines? No fees if you exchange the money for gift cards :BigHand:.

I did this deal last year & it came through with no problem ~ bought a Lowes GC since that's one place we always spend money at!

Is there a way to put $40 coins in and get 4 different $10 GCs and still qualify for the extra $10. I am thinking about Christmas gifts...but $40 is too much in one GC.

Anyone know?

No, it has to be $40 at one time.

Last year I used 2 $20 bills and it worked just fine. I don't know about this year. Anybody willing to try it? :wavehi:

so, is this one of those--go to the bank, get $40 worth of coins, and then go to Coinstar? LOL.

What are the fees on these machines? In the U.S., the fee for our coin counting service is 8.9 cents per dollar counted (9.8 cents Canada).

+

How It Works ...

You Give Us Coins, We Give You Cash™

Coinstar's patented self-service kiosk is easy and fun to use.

Just pour in your jar of mixed coins and watch them add up.

The Coinstar Center accurately counts up to 600 coins per minute, saving you the time and effort of counting, sorting, or rolling.

When you cash in at a retail store you'll get a voucher to redeem for cash at the store checkout or apply to your purchases.

When you cash in at a bank or credit union, you'll get a voucher to redeem for cash at the teller or deposit into your account.

Check your voucher for special promotions or sweepstakes that Coinstar may be offering.

In the U.S., the fee for our coin counting service is 8.9 cents per dollar counted (9.8 cents Canada).

Retailers or financial institutions may choose to discount this fee.

Coinstar : Our Products : Coins to Cash™ (http://www.coinstar.com/US/webdocs/A1-0-1)

+

So, if you end up depositing $100.00 in loose change, you will be charged 8.9% or $8.90 in the form of a coin counting service fee.

$100.00 = amount of coins you brought in
$008.90 = coin counting service fee
===========================
$091.10 = amount that you will take home

+

For a while I used CoinStar but with $200.00+ worth of coins, that coin counting fee really added up.

I now count and roll my own coins every three months.

The only coins I now take to CoinStar are pennies.

Similar to the ones sold at grocery stores, etc.

More like major retail stores and not as much as grocery store chains.

You could try what I do with mypoints at the end of each year for Christmas - cash them in for one big GC and then have the store the GC is for split it up into smaller ones. Obviously this only works if all the GC's are to the same place. :giggle2:

Or........hmmmm, if one of the places you can get a GC to thru the coinstar is somewhere that sells other GC's (Walmart, Walgreens, Kroger all do I know) you might could pick up smaller amt GCs and pay for them with the larger GC you got from coinstar.

Or you could always put it up for trade here on the boards. YMMV on getting exactly what you need in a 1-4-1 trade though.

There are ways, is all I'm sayin'. :wink7:

There are no fees when you put your coins onto an e-certificate or gift card, which is what the promo is for.

Do you have to send in the entire receipt or just the bottom? If just the bottom then the top half could be submitted for the Coors buy $100 worth of gc get a $10 check or buy $25 gc & get $5 check

The $10 GC is to the same store you chose your $40 GC to.
