I have been reading the Wags forum for about 1 1/2 yrs now. When I was a newbie, I found it very easy to follow along as the deals were spelled out in the following format:
Product here, Overage/FREE/GDA here ( your user name )
TOTAL: Total price for number of items after all coupons and rebates.
SALE: Sale price. If unadvertised MegaSaver, please make a note
MQ: Coupon value AND source
AD Q: Coupon value and page #
RR: Brief description of RR deal AND/OR ad page # AND/OR link to deal thread
MATH: How you got to the total so if there's a mistake, others can catch it.
Lately, we haven't been getting many deals in this format. Personally I don't have as much time now as I did last year, so I have cut back on my posts as well.
I know when Irishlass suggested this format, there were many positive comments. I know some members are not very experienced with this format- but it really doesn't take that long to figure out. Heck, if you are able to figure out the deals, the format should be a snap!! It really only takes a couple of extra minutes to put your deal in the above format.
What are everyone else's thoughts? Would everyone like to see us go back to this? I know it would really help a lot of HCWs if the ad scan was in the first post and all the deals were outlined in the same post. Mods- do you think this is possible?

I like that format - but it is pretty cumbersome. I would rather see people post a great deal at all, in any format, rather than someone not post because they don't like/don't know/don't have time to mess with the "format."

I love our mods and all the work that they do. :BigHand:
I also love putting the deals in the Wags format. I copy and paste the deals into a document and print them out to take to the store. It is so much easier to do that when the deals are done in the Wags format. It is so easy to miss a deal when it is not in that format. The formatting really makes things stand out and also helps everyone to check the math, coupon usage, etc.
I have tried to find all the deals and do a little update in the thread the recently. It really helps when they are in the format.
I was a little intimidated by the format at first. I found just copying and pasting the format and then replacing the words with the correct info was pretty easy. It also kept me from posting a couple of deals because my math was off. :giggle2:

I absolutely love the format & though personally I haven't posted any deals on the forum, I love coming to the Wags forum for that very reason.
Thanks Mods for all you do!!!!! You R-O-C-K!!

Hmm part of that is my bad. I know some of the stuff I post is copy+pasted from another site and I didn't even think to reformat it to match HCW's format. I give credit to the other site(s) and didn't know if it was proper to change their work when I'm giving them credit lol.

I don't think OP was criticizing the Mods (Who ROCK!!), just trying to point out the format so many of us are used to isn't being used as much. Being a Mod takes a lot of time and effort (without pay!!!) and it can be hard to keep everyone on track.
Personally, the format helps me make sense of the deals. I really like to see the deals laid out that way. It helps me collect all the coupons/flyers I need to put a deal together for a, IMHO, complicated store.

1. I LOVE the mods on here and appreciate so much all the time and effort they put into making this such a great thread. 2. I also really like the format and prefer deals be posted that way, but I am grateful for any deal posted as I do not have the time to figure out the stuff you guys do.
Big thanks to the mods and also to you posters of deals---you don't know how much you guys help me!

No complaints here. Either way is fine with me, like the format, but happy when someone shares deal info whatever format it is posted in. Mods rock! :BigHand:
