My husband stopped by Pns to get some flowers and was given a new shoppers card. It is all black and they told him the old one won't work anymore. Are these new? I haven't shopped at PNS in two weeks so this was news to me.
Anyone else given new cards at their store?

I shopped at my PnS in NE WI yesterday morning and wasn't given a new card then. I'll have to see if I get one sometime this next week, I wonder what the difference between these and the old ones are (besides their look). I checked on the PnS website, and it still shows the old one - but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't update the picture on there for awhile.
I also noticed it says "Benefits included: ... Special Advantage Plus Savers Club holder mailings". Hmmmm, I have never received anything in the mail from PnS that wasn't a mass mailing to everyone in town and addressed to "current resident".

I haven't been to my PnS this week yet, so I don't know if I'll be getting a new card or not. But I did talk to my sister this weekend; she lives near Madison and told me they've had the black cards for a long time. From what I understood from her, they are Roundy's cards so they can be used at PnS and Copps (I know the old cards could be used at both too). I'm not sure if she meant they actually say Roundy's instead of the particular store or what. She did say they are poor quality compared to the old ones and that the barcode on hers wore off really quickly and the cashiers have to manually enter the numbers now.
Also, she said at her store you don't need to use your card to get the "with card" price - everyone gets that price now, with or without card. She said that the card is just used to keep track of things like the payback premiums and other promotions. Again, this is what my sister told me, so I'm not sure it is 100% accurate, but it does make sense.
Hmmmm... I guess I'll have to wait until I get mine to find out more. If they are really only going to be used for keeping track of purchases for promotions, then I hope they change the promotions so that you don't need to buy, for example, $35 in one purchase. It should be that they can keep track of the grand total and figure out how many premiums you earn that way.

I can verify most of this. I'm in Madison and we've had these cards from the beginning of summer. The card says "Roundy's Rewards" not Copps or Pick N Save. And, she is right about the card tracking your spending. We don't need to buy $35 in one purchase, we need to buy $510 total before earning a $10 giftcard. For example, at the bottom of my receipt it says "You have earned $190.xx toward" whatever the reward is called. Same with the other deals we have going on for Kelloggs cereal and Yoplait yogurt (which I've heard is regional). No need to save receipts or vouchers, everything is automatically totalled and applied. I love it!

Thanks and reps for posting this! I'm actually excited about getting a new card now! I never have earned premiums from their promotions because I don't buy enough in any one trip, but now it seems I might be able to get in on the promotions - hopefully my 2 stores start using the new cards soon!

I asked about a new card when I did my PNS run on Wed, and the manager and cashier looked at me like I was an alien. Needless to say, no new card for me. My stores are in Delafield, Pewaukee and Oconomowoc.

This is so curious, one day last Spring while shopping in Kenosha I stopped at local PnS. I was told card must be replaced. I was required to get black Roundy's card. I must use black card at Kenosha stores. DH/I still have old card (bluish/aqua color) & it works in all the other Wisconsin stores in the SE area. Just can't use old card in Kenosha stores. How about that?

At the bottom of the RoundysRewards.com page it says:
Prices good January 31–February 6, 2010 at participating stores: Appleton, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Kimberly, Neenah, and Oshkosh.
This might be where the personal perks is currently. Who knows. Another thing, at the bottom of my receipt it says A Roundy's Rewards Card is Needed to participate in Personal Perks and Store Discounts.

I am in Appleton and in November there were signs up at our stores that we had to get the new (black) Roundys Rewards card. We all had to be converted over by December 31st. They took the old card when they gave me the new, but through the computer was able to link all of the info from the old card - it was all done at a little kiosk type machine. They scanned the old card, you confirmed your info on the screen, then scan the new card to activate it.
They are doing the Personal Perks thing up by me, which is linked to the new card - it sets a goal for you based on your spending and if you meet the goal each week you get a certain amount off your next transaction.
The new cards seem to work fine my only complaint it is that I can't add it to my Upromise account as of yet - it won't allow it.

@Karen, you know what's weird, I'm in the same parts and go to the Ballard Copps and Kimberly PNS and we had to be switched over by Jan 24. Interesting. I just happened to be at Copps a little over two weeks ago and they told me about their new card so I signed up when I left. Had this little kiosk after you checked out. Want to know something even more weird? Your home address is tied to your Roundy's card. I moved to this house about 3 yrs ago. I never changed my address as they never sent me anything like Piggly Wiggly did. Well when I went to the roundysrewards.com to register it has the lady who moved into our old house listed under my account too. Hmm. So I sent them an email asking how I change account info. We'll see what they say.

That sure is wierd. Well I noticed when I swithced over the card at the koisk, my DH's name came up on the card and not mine - which is no biggie to me but I thought it was strange since I got my card in my name before we were married and YEARS before I even even met him! (I had an old white card with Copps in red letters.) I don't recall if the address was correct or not on the account, we've moved several times in the last 10 years.
I shop mainly at Ballard and some at Calumet St. During Nov. and Dec. they were reminding people at checkout to switch over the cards before the end of the year. (Ballard was really pushing it, not really at Calumet and I don't recall seeing a kisosk at Calumet either.) I did mine the very last week in December, maybe they exptended it to Jan. 24th?

Hmmmm.... this interests me a lot! I keep trying to think of reasons why not everyone is getting their perks applied to their orders even though they have met the spending goal, and this has brought up another potential reason. KarenStep, you had posted in another thread that you didn't get your perks, it could be like Chellebelle7377 said - someone else may also be listed on your account if the address is no longer correct. So they may shop with their card after you have earned your perks and then they get the reward.
Not fair!:wink7:
I would check either online or the next time you're in the store to make sure the address is current and no one else is listed in your household - even if your address is right, someone who used to live there may still have your address listed on their card. This probably would be a good idea for everyone to do just to make sure you're able to get the perks that you earned. I'm going to repost this in the thread about the personal perks program also in case someone misses this post. Hope this could help someone.

I checked my address onlne and it is correct, but what I don't remember is if I updated the address at the kiosk or if it was already correct. A cashier was helping me through the screens and my kids were with me, so I was just trying to get through it as quickly as possible and I don't remember if the address was correct or if I changed it there that day.
What I think happened with my first week of rewards is that I must have been just shy of reaching the goal amount. Since my reciept was tracking my amount spent as the amount before any coupons were deducted, I assumed I was over the goal, but no reward came off this week when I shopped. After reading your other post explaining that only the doubled portion is not included, I figured out to subtract my doubled Q value from my total at the bottom of the reciept (but leave in my regular Q value), and with that deducted I would have been close to the goal, but maybe just under. I didn't keep my recipts so I can't know for sure.
This week I did get my reward. Did 3 transactions on Wednesday, my 3rd one got me over the goal (after the doubled Q value was dedcuted) and I had to run back on Thurssday for something I forgot and the reward did come off of that transaction. So it appears to be working for me now. Trying to figure out if I've met the goal has been confusing since the reciept does not track the spending properly, but I think I've figured it out now. :shrug7:

I still have yet to hear back from PNS about this issue.....Last wk used $3.75 in perks, but not sure if they were all mine lol. I feel like my address at the kiosk was current, but when I looge on to their site it showed my card listed as my old address. Weird. Who knows.

Our PS (Sheboygan) changed cards at the end of October. I was told you didn't need the card to get the sale price, but to get your rewards. Starting November 1, you earned ten cents off a gallon of gas (max. 20 gal.) for every $50 accumulated in purchases. The nice thing is that the $50 doesn't have to be in one transaction.:hectic1: So far, I used my cents off once (got $2.10 off a gallon), and now I'm up to $2.00 a gallon. However, the program will end April 1, 2010.
FYI - if your PS has this program with the gas, most vehicles do not have 20 gal. tanks. I didn't want to loose my $2.10 off 3 gallons (I have a 17 gal. tank). If you have a gas can, bring it with you when you fill up and after your tank is full, use the gas can to get the rest. After I filled my vehicle, I squeezed the rest of gas in my can and got the $2.10 off the full 20 gallons!:BigHand:
Wonder if a new promotion will replace the gas one.:shrug7:
