I am interested in this deal, but I don't follow the math and the Qs. The math result is correct, but shouldn't it be $4 - $2 Q= $2OOP, get $2 SCR?
Second, are the Man Q an insert or the printable listed in the database? The database Q is $1/2. So, if there are no other Qs, the result would be $1 net after the SCR? :shrug7:
Thanks for the info.

Mbella, I think what the pp is referring to is the part in red. I think it should be $4, but the end result is still correct.
And yes, I think that reindeer/moose thing is WAY creepy. :scared3::

Mod: Could you please correct the entry for the GE light bulb to show $4 as the sales price for 2 and the insert $1/1 SS 10/4/09 exp 11/29/09
Done......I think I edited it correctly, if not let me know.
Thanks a bunch for the insert date mbella. I found it also. I have noticed that sometimes the inserts vary by region. I am in Virginia. The insert was 10/4/09 SS $1/1 any GE Energy Smart CFL, Ge Reveal or GE halogen product. Also same insert was a $1.25/1 any GE Reveal CFL product.
I will definitely do this deal!:smile:

The deals started today in California. I went and got the toothpaste and 3 bags of lifesavers (with the "$1 Coupon" on the outside- I opened the bags and pulled out the coupon). No problem.
Then I thought- I may as well get more lifesavers- free is free after all... so bought 3 more, cashier could care less that I opened the bags but when all I got were the bags of lifesavers and my OOP was $0, along came mean manager who tsk'ed me for opening the bags and didn't like that my OOP was $0.
Note to everyone: try to "buy" the lifesavers when you get something else too or a manager will have to come override the transaction

Besides the one that was in the P&G book from early this year, does anyone know if there are any current coupons for this Scope/Crest toothpaste? It's 4.0 oz and most of the newer coupons are good on 4.1 oz or larger. I've already used all my coupons from that P&G book.

Perhaps that is regional, too, as my coupon says "4oz or larger". I wonder if this is because Los Angeles is SO expensive? Of course, then I would think that we'd get all the best denomination of qs, and that's definitely not always true. :hysterical:

11-15-2009, 03:46:00 AM
Well, the one I have that is 4.0 or larger says Premium paste and it lists Whitening with Scope. I can't read the box that clearly in the ad, but the text says "extra white Plus Scope." It sounds the same, but I know there are several "plus Scope" kinds. Does anyone know if this is the right one that the q is for?

Watch out for the Crest toothpaste SCR: I think Rite Aid is going to get a lot of calls over this one. I bought the right paste and was credited with SCR #118 not #121. Both are for crest paste. #121 is for "Extra White plus scope" and I guess #118 is for that and any other Crest paste.
I bought the Extra White plus scope and it was tagged in my store as $2.69SCR. Not sure why I wasn't credited other than Rite Aid hopes I won't catch it.
Anyhow, just a head's up. I'll be calling them tomorrow or returning and rebuying.

First post of this kind, hope I am doing this right:

Sale: $5.99 I bought 2
Use: $1/1 MQ x 2, $5/2 RAVV coupon
Total/Math: $11.98 - $7.00 coupons = $4.98 OOP
if you buy 4 rolls (two transactions) with free fillers such as tic tacs or life savers (or rebate items) so that you can use your $5/$20...it is also eligilbe for the REAL SIMPLE $5 MIR, but you have to purchase it today, Sunday 11/15 and get it in the mail ASAP.
Hopefully this helps someone, feel free to retype if I did it all wrong!

Sorry this is a bit late, but I was just going through the ad again looking for something to use my GOS on, and I saw a deal I hadn't seen the first go around:
Trident Layers, Overage, -$0.25
Sale: $1
Use: $0.75/1 IPQ (Trident ® (http://www.tridentgum.com)), $0.50/1 RA VVQ (Video Values Q)
SCR:
SCR limit:
Total/Math: $1 - $0.75(IPQ) - $0.50(VVQ) = -$0.25

This would make for great fillers to help get your total to $20/$25 so you can use a $5 off Q. =)

Yup, there's a $5MIR through Real Simple when you buy $15 worth of participating products. The deadline to purchase everything was yesterday, though—and there's a quick postmark-by date which is on 11-19. The rebate was listed in the DB, and you can find it if you do a google search for "real simple rebate."

Well, doesn't that just bite. I'm teaching a class here, and one of the deals that I instructed my students on is the GE light bulb deal. Got them the coupons and all. Guess what. I'm in the East Region -- this is the West region ad. No lightbulbs in my ad. So now my students are going into RA wondering where this is that I told them about and they're being told 'that's not on sale here'. makes me look just a little idiotic.

The rebate was listed in the DB, and you can find it if you do a google search for "real simple rebate."
HTH!

Oh well, too late for the rebate, but still good deal on TP. Thanks!

Not only did it work for me, but it appears as though it qualified for two rebates. I got $2.69 credit for #121 and $1 credit for #118. I used a $.75 coupon when I made the purchase, so can we say money maker?! :BigHand:

I bought the Crest Extra White Plus Scope. At my store it was clearly marked, but I know other stores aren't so lucky. Just make sure you get the 4.0 oz. size. There is a bigger one but it will only qualify for the $1 rebate.

We have the GE Smart light bulb single packs in our ad 2 for $4. There was an entire endcap marked .99 which I saw on Sunday. Went back there on Monday armed with 30 $1 coupons in hand from SS 10/4. Got 3 3 liter ginger ales, 30 light bulbs, and 3 $1 santa dishes for my daughter. OOP 66 cents!

:shock1: $3.67 tax?!?! Holy cow - how much is your sales tax? My total was $0.40 (should have been $0.42 without the -0.02 overage). We are at 6% tax. You must be paying tax on the pre-coupon total, but even still I wouldn't think you would pay tax on the diabetes monitor and that seems really high.

Update on the toothpaste saga: I received an email today that as a "courtesy" Rite Aid gave me the credit of $2.69. They reminded me that purhaps I didn't buy the correct one (yes I did). Anyhow, I now have a credit of both $1 and $2.69 for the paste.
Just be careful if you get the paste to watch your SCR's and make sure you get credited

You were right, I don’t pay tax on the meters… so my total was only 1.03 each time!
I did this twice, the 3rd time the snippy night manager told me no. I asked why, she said “ we have the right to limit quantities” (I know.. its true, they do) but she was very snippy about it.. so I said “fine, I guess that means you have the right to limit your profits also” Ill go back tomorrow when the nice cashiers are working!

Besides the one that was in the P&G book from early this year, does anyone know if there are any current coupons for this Scope/Crest toothpaste? It's 4.0 oz and most of the newer coupons are good on 4.1 oz or larger. I've already used all my coupons from that P&G book.
I have both coupons, one that says it's good on the 4.0 oz and one for the 4.1 oz. They both have the exact same bar code so I think you can use them on either size. I got one print and my sister-in-law who lives 2 miles away got the other print. Go figure.

You can't copy....you can print copies from the printer queue before hitting PRINT. ;-) No the barcode is the same.

You can't copy....you can print copies from the printer queue before hitting PRINT. ;-) No the barcode is the same.
Printing copies from the printer queue before hitting print is EXACTLY the same thing as making copies of your coupons. Exactly. That's why the barcode is the same. It is not Rite Aid asking you if you want to print more than one copy, it is your own printer/computer asking if you want to print more copies--just like it does when you print a word document or a web page.
So, if you're doing this, you might as well put your rite aid coupons in the xerox machine.

If you say so. If Rite Aid doesn't want us printing more than one copy then they would set it up like they did in September when you could only PRINT ONE COPY. That's my thought.
Taking a coupon that was meant to be just one and using the xerox machine is FRAUD in my mind. If you have one single coupon and the manufacturer only gave you one then coping it is fraud. When the store allows you to print more than one in a single shot that isn't fraud.

I think with manu coupons like from coupons.com or smartsource....any method that prints more than one but with the same pin or unique identifier is illegal....these coupons actually store and print your IP address as the coupon border.
But coupons that don't have a unique barcode or identifier like those from RA Video Values is more of a gray area.....especially since these let you print multiple copies using the print function. Personally, i think coupon fraud is one of the key reasons there are so many restrictions on IPs. Honestly, though.....I truly don't know if holding the print que is ok. I assumed printing multiple copies when you initially print the coupon is okay since they actually let you do that now but didn't previously.....but is that really any different in the end than xeroxing a copy? I think it's maybe best for the mod to make a call on this and we all follow that decision. But in the absence of any formal restriction, follow what you think is right...if in doubt....ask Rite Aid.

I didn't say it was fraud, although it probably is at least unethical. I said it was the same as xeroxing the coupon. And it is. It's something controlled by the end user, not by rite aid. It is possible that Rite Aid doesn't care, since they aren't requiring the use of their own coupon printer. But the wording on the screen before I went to print said you may only print the coupons once. I think it is pretty clear what their intent was.

MOD POST:
If rite aid wanted to limit Video Value coupons or even their "sign up" coupons etc, they could and would. Rite Aid does issue some coupons that are limited such as the $/$$ printed from coupons.com. There are MANY security protections available to corporations to prevent coupon fraud, whether or not a company chooses to use is another story. Rite Aid is FULLY aware (I have wrote to them in the past about the 5/25 you get when you sign up) of the ability to print as many coupons as you want. Taking a coupon and copying it IS ILLEGAL because it states that right on the coupon itself. Plus copies of coupons are usually obvious as the quality suffers. However if the software pop-ups and there is option to print as many coupons as you choose, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Do not underestimate Rite Aids intentions as it is obvious they are aware of the security protections out there, an example being the $/$$ on coupons.com etc. On another note, HCW would NOT allow any discussion of anything illegal. Now.......PLEASE back to the topic of this thread. Thanks

At one of the 2 stores i stopped at today some of the True2go blood glucose monitors in the ad that say free after mail in rebate had stickers with a coupon thing on them that said free after instant savings and mail in rebate but the coupon was for $10 so it was free after coupon
and the same thing on the true result meters for 19.99 they had instant coupons for $30 on them
they look almost identically to the one that say free after mail in rebate but in the little wording under free it says after instant savings those had the coupons
