Hi everyone! This will be my first time to do the glucose RR with the free coupon. I spoke with the manager of my local store, and she ordered 32 of them for me. I am working with a local VFW to donate them to the disabled vets clinic (which I told her), but obviously I would like to maximize my RR return. Have you guys noticed the cashiers giving you grief in situations like this, do you buy filler so that your total is not 0, and how difficult has it been to find all the meters within a weeks time? When you have the manager order stuff for you, do they make you purchase it in 1 transaction? The mgr. seems VERY coupon friendly, however I don't want to wear out my welcome when I have just started, ya' know?!? Sorry for all the noob questions, and TIA!!

During the last go around with these, when they were $9.99, earn $10 rr, (so free plus $10rr back) I ordered 40 of them.

My Asst Mgr said, "you know you will have to do those in separate transactions.". I said, I know. :) So she already knew I wanted the rr's.
I stood at cosmetics and helped the cashier fill in the serial numbers while we rang them up. One per transaction. If anyone else wanted to check out, I scooted over so they could help that person.

No fills, just the monitor. Since our tax is outrageous here, it was plenty. I am on very good terms with my store, so no grief. They thought it was awesome that I walked out with all those rr's!

Good Luck!

anyone keep an eye on how often walgreens and/or cvs do this and is it better to wait for $10 rr rather than $5?

When I have had my store special order for me I tell them in advance that I will need to do however many transactions. That way, I have permission for the transactions ahead of time and don't have to worry about it when I show up. If they don't want to do the separate transactions, I wouldn't have them order it. I also let other people go ahead of me in line. I just do the deal that I want to do and don't add anything to the order. The store knows ahead of time what is up, so I have never had any problems. That said, there are stores in my area that I would never ask to do a special order of large quantities because I know that they would just give me problems. Lots of times the manager herself will do the ringing up because she likes to watch me get good deals.

I am very curious to see how this deal works out. I think I will be ok, since she volunteered to order them for me, but after today, I am not too sure. I went to do the Almay foundation, and they only had 5 left in-stock. Once she saw that the $9.99 ones were printing up $10 RR, she was surprised and wanted to limit it to 2. Honestly that was fine for me, since this store only had the BOGO50%. I was just trying to roll today for some RR that were about to expire. I told her that if she ever needed me to limit my purchases based on stock, that I would be happy to do so. I just don't know how she is going to react once she sees that each meter will print out a $5 RR with no OOP (maybe tax?). Should be interested to say the least......The VFW was thrilled though when I called them to ask when I could drop them off :0)

That's a good question regarding pre-orders of items for an upcoming RR promo:

1. keep in mind even if you ordered 32 with just a week to go before the sale, it doesn't mean that you will get them all even if the SIMs coordinator ordered them. It still depends on warehouse inventory on how many they will send per branch. If there are others who ordered way ahead, they may get theirs first based on first come, first served basis.

2. in cases of RR promo in conjunction with pre-orders, if they come during the promo period, I suggest you inform the SM ahead of time of your intention to ring them up one meter per transaction to get $5 RR for each. I've read a lot of conflicts between customers and MOD when the store staff INSISTED to ring them up in ONE transaction. if that happens, you can only get 1 RR for all in accordance to the rule of 1 RR per offer. to avoid misunderstanding, it is best to be transparent and if the SM is okay with the plan, there should be no problem. Be informed that some store staff do not like the idea of multiple transactions done by 1 customer since it is time consuming. This is something you have to keep in mind when you plan to do 32 transactions. If allowed, make sure to be ready with payment for each transaction to make it faster. If we cooperate with them, they will likely cooperate with us.

3. it is also best to inform the SM if you will go ahead and buy them in the event they don't come on time for the sale. Make it clear to them of your plans either you'll go ahead to pay for them with coupons and get them free w/o RRs OR you'll cancel the order if it doesn't come any day week of 11/8 until the last day of sale. If the SM tells you they'd still sell it to you @ the sale price but no RRs, better let them know if that is okay with you or not.

whatever your plans, it is best to be transparent and let them know so there will be no surprises from both ends. You'll know ahead if they are agreeable to your plans rather than have conflicts later that will ruin your good relationship with the store.

Good luck!
