Looks like, without coupons, we have canned veggies, knorr soup mixes, knorr sides, cake mixes, cereal, kleenex, Klondike, and Breyers at free or close to it. If you don't need them, buy them and donate them and suggest it to your friends! No coupons needed!

Check the UPC list. I'm guessing they won't be on there as they are the "classics" and it is the Traditional and Rich and Hearty that are part of the cat. (Progresso has too many dirn varieties.) But hey, take the UPCs from the list to the store and check them. It may work!

No problem...if you purchase beer that is. Ok folks! With a little help from my mama I have worked out the overage/cost for each of the items I have coupons for. She organized this by isle/type. I attached a copy in case the info is helpful. It does contain price checks from my local (NCM and WW) Acme in BOLD and those I know from memory with a ? and bold.

This is in an Excel 97-2003 format for those of us with older programs.

I got my shelf price from online, so of course this info varies, my stores are usually the same as the online price. Also on the tissues, I couldn't find the 110 ct, I posted before the shelf price was $2.19 or so, but that was for 112 ct, I wonder if the stores will even have them!!!

My stores did not use to limit the # of Qs in transaction, Then one store set a limit of 3 and enforces it strictly. Another store had no limit but within the last month set the limit to 5 and then the next day set the limit to 4. They said that someone was cleaning out the shelves using 30+ of same Q in a transaction.

Here's how I see this:
Retail on Scott 12 ct is 11.49 as per online shopping.
Sale Price 7.99 each or 4.99 each if you buy 2 (so an additional discount).
Without any coupons you could buy 6 for 29.94 and get $30 back. Even if your store price is lower, if it's $10 retail or more- it's free!

I haven't seen the ad yet, but going by what's been posted I can see how this deal would be confusing. But it doesn't seem that the ads give an exhaustive list of participating items.

That's why I love the UPC list.
a) Of all the things I would use to shop with confidence, it's that list. I've messed myself up trying to buy what's in the ad, only to find that the variety is NOT included. I've not heard of a mistake on the UPC list yet, though someone else can correct me if they have.
b) The items that aren't listed on the sales page are more likely to be in stock- I think. If people don't know, they don't buy.

So here's a scenerio for that deal:
6 Scott 12 Roll 11.49*6=68.94 Retail
4.99*6=29.94 Sale
GET $30! Use coupons (I have $1/1) to make this a MM. I wouldn't do 6 though, as you could get a lower OOP using other items, since you NEED to buy two at a time.

The 11.49 is the shelf price for one 12 pack.

Also the Scott is not part of the Catalina in the circular at least not the bundle pack but it is showing the single rolls for .99 as part of the circular.

But the 12 pack is on the master UPC list so should work as a product to get to your 30.00.

Do you have a 'tax blessing' store in your area? I have one and when I pay with a $10 Cat my tax amount decreases by $1.95! It seems to deduct about 20¢ (19.5 actually) on the dollar. So I imagine $15 in cats should take $2.92 or $2.93 off!

You are correct. But you can get the nice ones with *lotion.* I stick those in a special stash for when those red noses really get sore. Otherwise my DD will just go through them like she does regular tissues, about a handful a day. Ugh.

Yes. I find that if with cats and coupons, I end up breaking even, $0.00 oop, that I actually go negative. $0.30 for every $5.

So for whatever transactions you plan, if you plan to end at $0, grab another item that costs at least $0.30 for every $5. Make sense?

I just noticed that the Kleenex IP's I have are for .50 on 3 or a bundle. They don't have DND and start with a 5. The inserts are for the same amount but say DND and start with a 5. I was going to use the doubling ones first.

Because of how hot a coupon the .85/1 Viva is, and the fact that you could get them free with just the .50/1 Q- that's what I did. I'vbe spent $50 on COUPONS for this sale:shrug7:Oy...It has taken weeks for me to spend that much just on GROCERIES! It'll work out in the end though, because the overage will make for FREE groceries until the expiration date on the new Cats.

It shouldn't, I have used a cat for 2.00/1 Corn Flakes and the sale price was 1.99 and it didn't beep on me. I think it is because the Acme registers are programmed by the shelf price for q's and not sale price if that makes sense?

I think it was posted that the Skippy Natural cat ended at the end of September/beginning of October.
MoneyMags at SD clarified that yes, the Skippy was supposed to stop 11/1 but has still been printings at a couple sister stores. So we still need to wait and see if the wishbone and skippy will produce a cat. If so we'll call it a extra little gift:BigHand:

I know how bad it is.. But we have gross tap water.. soo..
Any brand of water will work for us. I say we're stocking up on water because every time Acme runs a promo where we get CATS back, I always figure out BEFORE hand, what Im going to use my left over (MM) Cats on.. Last time it was diapers, the time before that it was plain old groceries! This time, we have diapers, our freezer is full, we just keep running out of water, and my crystal light stock is almost gone! *GASP*

My additional savings for having used them will be obscene!:giggle2: However, I will save $672.20 if I use all these coupons on thousands of items. So after the coust of the coupons I am UP $652.20 BEFORE I get obscense overages on each order (like 60-80 offers next week- $5 MM each (or even $10!). So to be conservative lets say 60*$5= $300 overage! And THousands of FREE groceries! In reality, it will probably be more profitable than this:BigHand:

Good reminder. My cell phone has a calculator that I like a lot. I can do things like 5.00+3.45*2+4*1.55= and it does it!

Here's something else I find helpful. I attached a copy of this to share. What you do is write down your scenerios or the order in your cart as you go. At the end of each scenerio I put a squiggly line to indicate the end of the deal- and I total everything for the deal. Then I start the new deal below.

A few good things about doing this:
One- you are keeping track of your totals- thus, double checking yourself.
Two- you can add a check or star to the scenerio if it worked properly and you got the cat. You know this scenerio is a winner.
three- you can wash rinse repeat the same deal later at a glance if you really liked how it panned out.
Four-You can easily share your best deals with friends and interweb strangers!
Five- I like to do this to save me from having to remember it all in my head. I can see it all on paper and plan what to add next.
Six- You could start writting out scenerios on this form NOW and have it set out neatly, orderly and legibly when you get there Friday at 3 am!

Hopefully that makes sense to those who are interested. Don't forget a pen and paper (or form like this) along with that calculator!

I WILL live there this week:giggle2:. I don't think I will use all the coupons. I imagine by Tuesday or Wedn I'll be selling them to friends who didn't get them for the sale. Maybe recoup some of that $50. Maybe even some HCW gals in my area would want to share some of the coupon purchases later in the week. Who knows, I kept my calender wide open for this- so perhaps...

I think the only thing keeping me from using them all in time would be not wanting to tick off the employees. I may even drive a bit this time to hit other Acmes.

If this triple stacks I will do one, maybe two at a time. I think it depends on the vibe the employees are giving off. At the big Acmes I'll do the one or two, go to the car and load up and come back- if the vibe is good. After my second time in, if the vibe is good- I may come through again. I keep it flexible. As soon as something happens (and it always does) that makes me uncomfortable (like a cashier refusing a cat or something, and getting the CS- who, though they will put it through, I am now on radar) I just go with the flow.

It varies, I feel pretty lucky though. I have 4 Acmes with in 20 minutes of my house all in different directions. So I usually have a bunch of scenarios planned out and just hit 2 in the morning, wait for the change of shift, then hit the other 2 at night and then the next day rotate. I go to the 2 I hit during the day at night and vice versa. I have some friends at one Acme (from shopping there) and they will let me break my orders up. I have done (the most) 2 back to back, go out to the car, go back in (2 more broke up) and then one last time back in (2 broke up) when the cats were not stacking. So 6 orders in one store. I have also done 3 in a row at SCO back to back. The employees at at least 2 of my stores are pretty pleasant and are more impressed than anything. In fact I have gotten at least 2-3 employees doing deals now too!!

They are on sale, which fuels my suspicion.

Anywho, the 24.5 oz was shelf priced today at 7.89, sale price will be 5.49. If they are included, and you used a $1.50/1 Q you could buy 4 for .96!

Here's my list of prices, if it's helpful to you. Also is a list of UPC's (that doesnot include this new list I just posted in word format for those without Excel, in 2 docs because of size and a simple sheet for planning your scerarios if you wish.

I think the best way to ensure that you don't miss the required totals is to bring an extra item or two in the cart (not perishable) and scan the items before you scan your card. That way you can easily see if you hit the target. Sometimes items are not the price we exect and of course the dreaded Knockdown prices can foul you up. If you are a bit short, just add in one of the filler items. If not, put them aside and collect your winnings. This has been posted by others and it works great.

Somebody please post what prices hav been knocked down ASAP.

I don't know how well the above will come through, but here are my first scenarios, starting with $7 in CATS and rolling for non-perishables on my way to work. I assumed some shelf prices lower than they likely are just to make sure I come out over $30, so the listing is shelf price, sale price, and then two columns of coupons (the second is for those that double). Going after the things I really need first, like napkins and wipes and filling in with other money makers!

Alright, I have a Lipton Scenario if you have the $2 on Lipton/Wishbone/AND Hellmans peelie. It's at the bottom of my updated spreadsheet, below. Short version: Do two of the $2 wyb the three item deals and add 2 BC Cake mix- your OOP will be 12.92 or a MM of $2.08 with 2 coupons and you get:
2 hellmans
2 wishbone (perhaps even a 1.50 CAT WYB 2...we'll see!)
2 Lipton 100ct Tea Bags
2 Cake Mix

That's like being paid 26¢ for each item bought!

BTW- I thought of another useful reason to use a spreadsheet, either typed ahead or filled in as you shop: If you work out the ITEM total, and you have something...off at the register, one quick thing to check would be the item count. If, like in the above scenario, you bought 10 items- and the register shows 9- you KNOW what the issue is FAST. If you are able to double or triple stack this deal it could be especially helpful.



Note to my crazy midnight coupon friends. If you don't have coupons for the item you want or it's not quite free- consider throwing in BC Cake Mix-it's a MM without coupons and a nice low cost filler at 2.59 shelf and only .99 sale.

Oh no:( That's not quite the report we were waiting on! Just out of curiousity, since the Tuna Helper rang incorrectly (are you saying you were charged $1 more than the sale price?)- if you would mind sharing the UPC code. I hope you call CAT about this.

The CAT IS ON folks, it's confirmed. Just a quick speculation of what could have happened. My guess (since $61 didn't produce a single cat) is there was a problem with the CAT machine at this register. Did you get anything printing out of the machine (ads or coupons)? If you call, we'll have a better idea.

I did a double order, and got my $30 in CATs. Funny thing is, it was 3 $10 cats. Wonder what's up with that?

Anyway, I noticed that Breyers is knock down priced at 2.99, but had a tag that said without card price is $6.29. I think this might work out for us. I also noticed that cake mix is knocked down, so I decided to try it by buying only one. My receipt shows a was price of 2.59! So, it looks like, at least for some items, they are saying they are "Knock Down Priced", but not it is not affecting us as it has in the past. I wonder if this will be the case for all, or just some items. It certainly makes it more challenging to keep OOP to a minimum!

Just some further warning..when I went to the store this morning I was using my camera phone to snap pictures of labels so I could check the UPC list when I got into work. The Scott Mega single Paper towels is in the ad as part of the deal but I snapped a UPC of 5400016445 and that's NOT on the UPC list...so just be wary if you grab those and don't get your cat...I'd either argue w/c/s to get your $15 or return it....cause I doubt you'll get it through catalina!

Sorry this happened to you. It very well may have been the printer. Back in August or so with the Kelloggs deal, this happened to me even though the green light was on. I had to go into detail with CS about what I bought, etc. Kind of a bother, but it happens. They finally agreed that I should have received the catalina. She tried it again by scanning products, as I was still at the register, but it would not print. She then tried it at an empty check out station and it did print. Going forward I do not get in a line, unless I actually see printouts coming from the catalina printer or the cashier can confirm that it is printing currently. I have found that the green light does not always mean that the printer is working properly. HTH!

Had an OK trip..
didnt really get what I wanted..
shelf prices were WAY off, so had to do LOTS of readjusting..
Thinking about going back to see if Bryers/Cake mix even tho on KD work at high prices..

The toilet paper is a 12 pack.. I didnt even TRY to get a CAT with it to be honest..
I put it in with the 6 klondike bars to lower my OOP.. and use 2 additional Cats.
Im not trying the TP till its confirmed.. Too much money for me to risk trying. :(

It was added to the master UPC list...not advertised in Acme's ad as part of the deal but they do have it on sale and it is on the list so it should work! I'm going to try it cause my brother loves this stuff!!

Paper towels are 1.99 shelf price.. So you need 16, to reach 30
But SOMEHOW when I scanned them, at self check out, after 15 I was above 30...

ok it worked for me this morning, but the TP did NOT work. I could not find the one that the UPC was mentioned. I bought the Soft 12 pk and it did not work, but again it did not match the UPC. The regular 12 pk did not match either. I have a feeling it is the 8 pk and they did not have it at my store. I spent 23 ( this included the TP deal too) and got 3 cats 5 each for a total of 15. Not bad but I wasted the other item coupons that I used in the TP deal. :( oh well at least now I have the 15 to roll.

Did you actually do this deal because I tried the TP this morning and my cat did not print. The UPC's of the 12 packs on sale don't match the Master UPC List from what I can see but there might have been an addition I don't know about.

I was going head out this morning but then I remembered that the coupon police work at my local ACME during the daylight hours. I think I'm going to put off my first run until after my kids go to bed tonight.

Ragu is Knock Down priced. I'm on hold with Catalina to see what price is counting toward the knock down items since the retail is now showing ont he receipt.

This has me pretty aggrivated. I used up all the coupons I had on hand that could make this free or a MM and decided to go stalk to mailwoman. She'll get to my house later today, so I went looking for her. I found her! Good news, I got SOME of my coupons. Bad news, my fav ebayers coupons have NOT arrived yet!:sad:Grrr. I contacted her to ask when she shipped them. It's a $15 order and with these knock downs I need those coupons! If it comes tomorrow this will be 4TH DAY mail...ugg.

Been on hold with Catalina a LONG time.
Edit to say: He couldn't look at the UPC by store for me, to check the value toward the Cat. I'll call tomorrow and see. Unless some brave soul finds out if the retail is counting again, since it shows on the receipt. All someone would have to do to check would be buy 12 BC CAke Mix @ 2.59 (original shelf price, not knock down) and see if they get their CAT. If I find a cooperative manger today I may try.

Sorry this happened to you. It very well may have been the printer. Back in August or so with the Kelloggs deal, this happened to me even though the green light was on. I had to go into detail with CS about what I bought, etc. Kind of a bother, but it happens. They finally agreed that I should have received the catalina. She tried it again by scanning products, as I was still at the register, but it would not print. She then tried it at an empty check out station and it did print. Going forward I do not get in a line, unless I actually see printouts coming from the catalina printer or the cashier can confirm that it is printing currently. I have found that the green light does not always mean that the printer is working properly. HTH!

I always check for the green light and push the Feed button to make sure the printer is not jammed. Actually, that is at A&P and I don't know if they are set up the same as Acme. I'll be at the Middlesex Acme this weekend. Never have a problem asking people if they are on this board. Anybody I have seen with tons of coupons and buying like us is bound to be on one of the boards. I've seen people that are buying the proper products, but don't seem to have many coupons. I've told them that it works on shelf prices and explained a scenario to them and it kinda blows their mind when they see how cheap or free it can be that way.

Just a FYI for those who keep going well my store is still 4.99 and 2.99 at many other stores. All the sale tags may have not been done, when I was doing tags alot of time we didn't finish and they had to be done Friday. Also a knockdown price tag will have previous sale price on it and show up on recipt but the amount won't count towards presale prices.
Also they have to apply the batches meaning they have to go into computer and turn them on.

(insert funny voice here) "This is your local Acme girl signing off wiht the insiders tip of the day!!". Sorry just wanted everyone to laugh since it seems we are off to a bad begining! :sad:

I checked all the UPCs of the 12 pk Scotts on sale. None of them matched the UPC on the master list so highly doubt it'll work.

I had my coupons ready but ditched that plan.
