I really want some free green giant boxed veggies :(
I have so many steamfresh and birds eye I'm about to burst - but it recently dawned on me the awesome flavors in the boxed variety - like the green beans with almonds :)
Anyways - anyone want to join me in a green giant rain dance??

I have 10 Qs for the birds eye and can't decide if I should use them with this sale and pay a little bit OOP or wait to see if they go on sale so I can get them free again. We go through so many veggies.
One thing I can say about the birds eye is that the broccoli is full of 'stumps' and we tend to throw a lot of it away.
I'll dance with ya! Any kind of free veggies is a bonus - and I also like the green beans with almonds!!

Somehow ...
Edible grocery store items taste sooooo much sweeter when you know that you got them for free or better yet, via a MM (Money Maker) deal!
Show me the mon-ey and ... eat your veggies!

It is great that those Birdeye frozen veggies are low in sodium.
I do not purchase canned veggies because of their high sodium content.

I don't like canned veggies b/c they seem mushy!

I'll join in a Green Giant dance! Me and the kids love the cheesy veggies :-) I had a ton of the bird's eye...and we don't like them! LOL I'm planning on giving most of them away - and trying to find a good spinach recipe for the frozen spinach :)

LOL the only canned veggies I like are green beans for a casserole (not by themselves) Canned make better casserole imo
Anyways
Who said anything about canned ? This is the green giant frozen veggie dance!!!! :) :)
I agree with MJKN on the whole stumpy broccoli thing with the birds eye - I've had enough of that!
If I have to go birds eye I'm sticking to the peas and corn from now on.
Have no idea where you found the dancing veggies but they rock and ty for joining the green giant rain dance!

Oh oh! Plus the boxes are easier to store!
They tend to fall on me less in the outside fridge!

I was just complaining last night at the Valley Fresh Steamers - my freezer is packed, but they do not stack well at all - and they alway fall out on me! But free is free - and they are yummy.

MJ - the reg BE, the blue bag? Yup, terrible broccoli!! Almost no florets in the bag!!! We usually use 2 bags, and remove the excess stumps, just to get enough florets for us.

I can't remember the color of the bag. I thought it was white - it's the ones that you have to put into a steamer or pot (you can't throw the whole bag in the microwave). What a waste of $$.
One company makes a chopped broccoli that is excellent - it is ALL florets cut very nicely. The next time I go into the freezer section, I'll try to find out which one it is exactly. I know it to see it.
I also like to buy fresh broccoli when it is .99/head and freeze it. I just rinse it, drain, chop, let dry and pitch into a freezer bag. When some of the teeny, tiny florets fall of, I keep them and sprinkle on top of a cheap pizza (er, one of the ones on sale this week!). Kids love it, extra taste and extra veggies for their little bellies!

I LOVED THE CHOPPED BROCOLLI!!!! lol We must have similar tastes!! I think it is BE in the blue box, but I haven't bought it in a while and forget too! That's a great idea for the fallen florets! I'd have to fib to my boys and tell them its parsley or something - they love brocolli but are funny about what foods go together!

...trying to find a good spinach recipe for the frozen spinach :)
I have an awesome recipie for lasagna with hidden spinach. It's the only way I'll eat it cooked. Lemme know if you want it!
(And on a side note - where is everyone getting FREE veggies? OhMyGoodness @ the money we spend every week on frozen veggies!)

I think it was two weeks ago (maybe 3) the BE veggies were on sale 10/$10 and there were .50/1 Qs available making them free. Then, with every 5 you bought, you got $5 worth of Steeler bucks to spend.
This week they are 5/$8 and there are .50/1 Qs available, so not free, but cheap.
You end up with 5 bags for $3. This sale should end Wed (I haven't seen the ad starting 11/5 yet).
