I've been doing this for some time and have the walmart, rite aid and walgreens down. I can go into walgreens many times and make money -- love that!
Anyways, I really need to better or figure out how to do grocery stores better. No stores in my area have doubles (albies sometimes has 4-doubles - but that really doesn't achieve what I want).
My stores are Albertsons (usually go - best sale prices) super walmart, safeway and fred meyer. I've been stockpiling forever and have lots of things we use but am really looking to get a better handle on groceries. I take advantage of sale/coupons/catalina deals but a lot of these deals are on food we do not use.
Suggestions? Is this just the way it is if there are no doubles?
thanks so much!!

Well, it sounds like you are doing everything right - the only thing I would suggest that you did not mention is rebating. I recently got into doing this and in one month I got $56 on all stuff that I would have bought anyways. $2 and $3 rebates can really add up.
I save all my receipts because you never know when you will find a rebate. I also trade for rebates because I do not get as many in my area.
Without a store that doubles your savings are never going to be what some other people's are - because they are relying on double and triple Q to get more items for free or very low cost.

I dont have a store that double either so I feel your pain...I shop mainly at walmart and I price match any and all sales ads that I can..I have 2 year old tiwns and its to hard to run all over town plus I save on gas.
Contact the products you use and often they will send you out a few coupons and even some frees sometimes..and if your mom or friend dont use coupons recontact them useing their name and address to help out some more on those product but be sure to ask them before you do this...
I dont save as much as others I mean getting $200 in food for $20 I have not done that yet and mostly wont unless I get a store that doubles and dont down grade the coupon value if its more than the item cost. But I have already saved about $3000 with coupons this year and thats a good chuck of money so I will be happy with that until I can do better, and I will keep trying...

thanks for the advice ~ I've never price matched at walmart as I've always wondered if they would have the same item. Do they price match say on chicken -- when albertsons has boneless breast chicken for.....since it's albies butcher, would they price match that? Do they price match for store brand also.
And where would I start looking for rebates to trade? I have done some but could always do more!
Thanks!!

Yes, the Wal-mart/Super Wal-marts should "price match" store brand for store brand. Great Value (Wal-mart/Super Wal-mart brand) for i.e. Kroger (insert any store) store brand. Check out Target/Super Targets for price matching.
Read the forums threads for info on Wal-mart and Target stores for info.
Just carry a current circular sales ad and current copy of their store policy for price matching.

thank you! I thought I had the sale/coupon thing down at Wal- mart and hadn't put much thought into the price matching. That could save a lot of time. Thanks!
