I think you guys can check out the other kroger threads for coupon matchups as they really have covered everything. I am kind of bummed about the snuggle as I paid a fortune for coupons. I am also bummed that the tuna wasn't .50 but instead is .65. Oh well.

Yes, it says something like 32 loads + on the liquid or 70+ sheets. Other regions are saying the sheets are not included.

My insert Q's for the Tombstone pizzas are $0.75/2 (double to $1/2).
I will still be happy with a frozen pizza for $1.50 each.
I really need some convenience foods right now. Just hope I can get there before they are sold out. Do they offer rain checks on this 8-hour sale??? The ad does NOT say no rain checks.
If you like Ricola, a good deal on those with the BOGO insert Q.
Awesome Cheez-it deal with the $1.50/2 insert Q. Does that make them $.25/box??
looks like a pretty good week to me. :-)

i don't see the carnation evap. milk listed, hoping it is unadvertised, i just ordered a whole bunch of coupons for these.
anyone know how much orville popcorn is? 3 pack bags?
I have some 3/3 2(coke 2 liters and 1 bag of popcorn coupons) the hyvee and price choppers have them for about 2.85 in kc.
so it would be about 1.63 for the 2 cokes and popcorn after mega deal. I got a little better deal at hyvee a couple weeks back, but need more 2 liters for saturday, so far this is the best deal i've seen.

yeah i order 20 coupons for the carnation i only have 4 atm, keeping my fingers crossed, i figured they don't expire until december so surely dillons would have them free sometime between now and then. I forgot about the dole too, i have quite a few of those coupons. I am really thinking that I will be making 2 trips up to the nearest dillons (30 miles,) if there are some good unadvertised deals.

I used to think that Springfield, MO had a lower cost of living, but the grocery prices seem higher than a lot of other regions and we don't get really great deals. Anyone else see that trend as well?
luvmy3boys
10-27-2009, 10:46:57 AM
It is weird b/c you would think the prices would be lower given the cola. My thinking is that those areas have competition. Whereas here, there is only one grocery chain basically, so they can have higher prices. IMO

There is nothing in the ad this time about doing up to three "Mega Deals" per transaction. I even asked the scanning manager in my store, but she did not know. I did one set of ten this morning. I was afraid to get up there with 30 items and only get $5 off. Has anyone done 20 or 30 items in one order this sale?

I think I live in a lower cost of living in the Omaha, NE area also. But groceries are higher here than in the less populated parts of the state that I used to live in.
Plus we live in the LOND.
The ad that gets posted here on Tuesday is a town about 40 miles from me so the prices in the ad is the price I pay. But we do have a few other stores in the area and I think that Krogers is the highest of all of them. I only shop there for the markdowns and the mega sales.
I can not afford to buy all of me groceries there.
As far as milk prices in the ads they have to keep them that low because ALdi's sells there milk for $1.69 everyday.
Plus my DH works for a local dairy that has been here for over 100 years and milk prices are very competitive around here.
Lot of times milk is a loss leader around here.
I used to think that Springfield, MO had a lower cost of living, but the grocery prices seem higher than a lot of other regions and we don't get really great deals. Anyone else see that trend as well?

i did 3 deals in one transaction and 2 in another (suppose to be three but i got a couple items wrong) so it is working, i am thinking there may be no limit this time around!
i saw some candles, not glade or airwick, they were part of the deal varying prices
and airwick products some type of scented oil price was 2.49 a/d
scotch and ocello sponges etc were part of the deal at varying prices
also in lawrence, some of the coke products were on sale 4/5, sprite, barqs, fanta were all 4/5 so these will be .75 after mega deal, i had to get coke too as that's what dh likes, but a got about half the 4/5 flavors. coke, cherry coke, diet coke, fresca were the 1.39 price. i got 14 two liters, and 7 boxes of popcorn for about 11.50 plus tax with the 3/2 coke/orville coupons i had, not too bad!
some non mega deal items i got:
colgate kids paste 1.29 use .50/1= .29 a/c/doubles
rotel in lawrence was .97 so free after ip and doubles
dixie napkins 1.99 used .55/1= .99
bounty basic single roll ppaper towel 1.19 used .50/1 homemailer= .19
i was also excited about the blue diamond milk quarts are 2.49 used .55/1 coupon and double= 1.49
marachun wakisoba? sp? are on sale 3/3 so free after .50/1 and doubles
sorry ladies, and gents, i haven't been to dillons since the megal deal at the beginning of february, so i was excited about a lot of prices!

awww, you are very welcome! A girl's gotta have a hobby, lol!:wink7:
Two things I forgot:
The Cheerios Snack Mix is on mega sale for the same price as the Chex Mix. 1.69
If you have the Marzetti Caramel Apple Dip coupon, .75/1 or .55/1, you can get 2 dips and a 3# bag of apples for 3.98.
The coupons will double to 1.00 and the 3# bag is on sale for 1.99.
Per the ad, buy 2 dips get 2.00 worth of apples for free. It's 3.98 for all and the 2.00 automatically comes off. Not bad, that dang dip is expensive, but goodddd!

I don't see Cellfire q's for BC Potatoes or Chex Mix - am I doing something wrong or need to use a specific zip? I am new to using these q's attached to my card. Also - if I buy 10 potatoes and I use the shortcut q with an IP - I know I need 10 IP's but it will take off 10 short cut q's as well? TIA for the help. I love being able to use more than one q per item.
Also, as a side note, I e-mailed Dillon's about taking exp. q's, and they said their official policy is NO. I don't think the Dillon's here in Joplin takes them!!

5swans0805: Hi:wavehi:
When you register for cellfire or shortcuts, it will pull up the offers in your area by the zip you registered with. I would for sure think you would have the BC Potatoes and Chex Mix available. Unless, you have already used them recently and they are no longer available? At cellfire, click on deals at the top and it will bring up what's available. I guess you could try using a different zip?
The coupons you have loaded to your card will only come off once, on one product. Sometimes, there are two available for the same product from the e-coupon sites. They will have different exp. dates. If you indeed, have more than 1 of the same coupon saved on your card, from the same or different e-coupon sites, it will deduct for each coupon you have saved.
It will not deduct once for every item you buy beyond what you have saved. For example, if you have a total of 4 butter coupons saved from cellfire and shortcuts. And, you buy 4 butter, it will deduct once per butter. If you bought 5 butters, you will not get an e-coupon deduction on the 5th one.
I hope that helped, I confused myself!! Please overlook the rambling and run-on sentences, I'm pooped today!

I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone posting here. I am really having a difficult week (many things, topped with my 15-year-old kitty-girl going into renal failure today....it's wait and see at this point).
I cannot tell you how much it is helping me for all of you to post what you are finding at the stores. I am just going crazy this week and don't have anytime to go to the store and look around.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I will probably not be able to make it to the store until Saturday. I sure hope everything is not gone!!!!!!!!!!!

And I'm sure everyone on the planet but me already knew, but, Dillon's has those dang buddie bar soaps for .99. Free with 1.00/1 insert coupon.
I know Tracy was worried that Wal-Mart was discontinuing them.
I didn't see stinkin' mandarin oranges on sale!! Well, looks like I gotta go back tomorrow!!! MMwwaahHHH!!:whistle67:

Well, Dillons did it to me again. All I needed was evap milk and I came out with $79.11 worth of stuff, but I saved $99.98! I did hit the mega sale savings 5 times. If only I had remembered the Kotex Q on Cellfire, I would have saved another $1...
I didn't see anyone mention the Playtex Living gloves were $1 after mega savings and free with SS coupon from 10-04-09 insert.

I used to think that Springfield, MO had a lower cost of living, but the grocery prices seem higher than a lot of other regions and we don't get really great deals. Anyone else see that trend as well?
Newbie jumping in: Yes! I'm a student and I go back to St. Louis every so often (breaks and family birthdays, that sort of thing) and I always finish up everything in my fridge and don't buy anything new the week before because things are cheaper up there. Not everything, naturally, but there's definitely something to having more competition; I've got a Shop N Save, Schnucks, Aldi, and Sam's Club within walking distance and a Dierbergs and WalMart Supercenter maybe 10, 15 minutes away.
My biggest problem is with the store brand items in Springfield--they're just not as cheap as St. Louis store brands! I find myself not using coupons nearly as much in St. Louis simply because (save the awesome, down-to-almost-nothing coupon deals) I can usually do better buying the store brand than a brand name + coupon (as most that I go to don't double, unfortunately). You can't use a coupon on everything, as much as we'd wish it were so, and that's where the difference really shines through. Even things like off-brand soda are cheaper up there (0.78, sometimes 0.66 compared to 0.80 at Dillons). It's kind of disappointing--I expected to be able to find things for a lot cheaper down here, but it's not the case. Of course, the decent rent makes up for it a little. :wink7:

Only obsure thing I found not previously listed is this: On the back of the 3-packs of Scotch tape (magic tape, gift tape, etc.)there was a coupon for $1 off any Scotch scissors. I had 2 of those coupons.
The scissors are on Mega Sale. They are 2.00 after the .50, so 1.00 after your q. I got myself some new q cuttin' scissors!!
The Dole Mandarin Oranges are 1.25, not .75, so it's .25 after doubled q. Boo!!
I got my 10 snuggles today and paid with the overage I got from my nut cluster raincheck from last week, plus q's plus e-coupons!!!!!!!:BigHand:
So, my total today was $13.58 and I saved $117!!!:dance43:

They were out of a bunch of the mega deal stuff so I had to focus on getting 4 more mega deals items. I forgot to even look at the ziploc bags. The Ziploc deal would do good with the SC Johnson rebate. Then the cat machine wasnt working. Time consuming trip to Dillions tonight, but the customer service guy was real cool about it. He took me at my word of $5 cat that didnt print out, and gave me gift card today for the diffrence. Got a butload of rainchecks too. I think I spent more time at customer service than shopping. But it was well worth it. Now Target on the other hand was a big headache. Tried to get the Fancy Feast deal. They werent having it. I even called corporate at the Kiosk desk, no they wouldnt let me do it. The Mfq says no other coupon may be used to purchse the same package. I knew I should of went to the clueless old man cashier.

You won't notice me because of my binder, because it stays in my van most days. Besides being humungous.... it really wrecks my *under the radar* style....so I usually leave it in the van. You binder toting gals should try this. There is nothing like the adrenalin rush caused by finding something awesome on the clearance shelf and then making the run to the van to see if you still have that Q !

I may not be able to give away cash, but I bet I can make some ppl smile and save money on their groceries  I know, Im seriously ill. Today I actually have a fever to blame it on.

I would fight "no further discount" They aren't taking the item down any further because they are going to get the face value of the coupon plus anything over and above that you might have to pay oop. Unless, of course, it was a store coupon. But I've never had a problem with using q's on clearance or manager's specials. I got two .29 fresh organic herbs on my last trip because I had a coupon for $2/2 and the herbs were on manager's special for $1.29 each.

I've always been able to use q's on markdown/clearance stuff. I've had a few beep in the past and they just pushed it through. I've even used q's plus any e-coupons for that item I had on my card. BUT, the use of e-coupons is only a 50/50 shot. Sometimes they do something to the UPC when they put it on markdown.
For example, I got some Gillette Shampoo on markdown before and I used a coupon and just happened to have an e-coupon saved for the item as well. Worked fine.
Next time, some Yoplait yogurt was marked down and I had a coupon plus e-coupon and the e-coupon did NOT come off. We all know there is always a bunch of yogurt e-coupons so it wasn't a matter of one not being on my card.
I emailed cellfire and asked them and that is what they told me. That sometimes the UPC is changed on markdown/clearance stuff because something or other about the registers???:shrug7:

I went in twice this week and got 5 free Dr. Peppers each time because the bottles had 0.55 peelies on them and they are $1.00 this week. The third time I went in all of the peelies had been pulled off the bottles. I believe that the store did this to keep people from getting free Dr. Pepper because a couponer would have bought the Dr. Pepper right away instead of just pulling the coupons off to use later. Grrrrr!

Made my second trip today. I was talking to Renette? at Sunshine about Ed. She said absolutely that everyone should be talking to mgmt when stuff like this happens. She was very intense over the whole thing and said it was unacceptable. She also clarified that you CAN use a rainchcheck at any Dillons =0) I knew I was right Ed. Anyway this is how I did =0)
Got 24 double rolls northern, 3 boxes Kashi (wags), 6 frostings, 12 Cheezits, 4 ICBINB spread( ty fussy), 7 Snuggle fabric softener, 43 pouches of Tuna( yay ebay!), 2 bags Chex Mix, 4 bags Halls, 20 boxes nerds movie theatre candy ( Cmas gifts for kids at church) Saved 99% at Dillons - Spent $3.12 for $183 stuff. Kashi came from Wags and cost me $3 in register rewards.....which I now need to burn because Wags stinks this week =0P I found a pack of .35/1 halls Qs today too so Im excited. My mom is getting Halls for Cmas =) I still have a bunch of Qs left so Ive got 2-3 more trips to make. Does anyone know if the mega event goes on next week ? I forgot to look! OH ! Also, found this neat little thing at St Louis today. Its a small one page pamphlet in a take one holder at the end of the aisle - it is done *shopping list* style and shows all the *other* mega event items ! I'd never seen this before so I was happy. Now I can easily go thru my binder and pull some coupons so check out when Im there. It be a great way to browse and copy down details and prices ( like niki did) and know you didnt miss anything. Just wanted to tell everyone that shortcuts has another e-coupon for .50/1 any tabasco sauce. Combined with the .50/1 IP (doubled) it would make it .05. (1.55 for the small bottle here)
Also, the scotch-brite nail saver sponges are on Mega Sale for 1.00 each after .50 discount. (I think, I remember the price correctly)
The scotch-brite website has an IP for 1.00/3. If you bought 3, after the mega sale discount and IP they would be .67 each.

Hoping it will go to next week as I just ordered some surf coupons (my laundry soap stockpile is completely depleted!).
I got:
1 Kotex
2 Kraft Mozzarella 16 oz.
1 BC Sugar Cookie
4 Snuggle 2 All 2x F&C
5 Playtex Gloves
2 Scotchbrite Scrubbies
4 Ricola
2 Land O’Lakes Spread
BC Cheesy potatoes
2 Dole Tropical Fruit
5 Del Monte Tomatoes
4 DH Frosting
10 Temptations Cat treats
4 ICBNB Sprays
10 Carnation evap. Milk
3.12# Honeycrisp apples
1 pkg. WW Mini pitas

Spent about $40 and saved $123. Goodness, I'd forgotten how addictive mega sales can be!!

The krusteaz is 1.50 after the mega sale. Then you get a $1 onyo for each two you buy. So it ends up being free after the onyo. I have bought 6 at once and gotten 3 $1 onyo.
Rachel, I'm sorry, I'm not following your math. Can you please explain?

I am pretty sure the Mega Sale is going another week- I looked at a few of the hang tags when I was shopping yesterday (Sunday evening at Battlefield store- didn't have the pleasure of seeing Ed) and saw the end dates were 11/10/2009. I am hoping they don't take the items I missed off before then though- they can add more- but don't remove any of them!
I don't know if I am an obvious couponer. I don't have a binder- I have accordian check-holder files that I carry in a tote. I haven't gotten to sit down and plan this week's trip- so I am always pulled off to the side of an aisle going through my files! I've missed a lot of the deals- I'm going to have to go back!
I told DH about the idea of a whole bunch of couponers lining up one after another for good ole Ed- he thought that was pretty funny! He knows all about Ed and his grumpy loud ways!

I think Rachel was using the $.50/1 (doubled) Qs which made them .50 each and then buy 2 get a $1 oyno making them free. Thats what I planned to do but was assuming the Cat deal went on for both weeks, which Im hearing it does not =0(

I am also an inconspicuous couponer. I have a small blue accordion-style coupon holder that I carry in my big red purse. I usually shop late at night, but today I shopped in the morning.

Duh. Forgot to say what coupon I was using. Yes, Tracy was right, I was using a .50/1 to make them .50 each and then there was a $1 onyo for 2. Not sure when that cat deal ends though. There was nothing on the cat to tell me.

I saw a binder lady at the Andover Dillons and I sooooo wanted to *ask*! I'm not too good about that though. :wink7:
You should have said something! I'll bet you anything it was me! I am a "binder lady" and I always shop at the Dillon's in Andover.

Im going to be at Dillons so late tonight, but I just cant take the chance that something I need will drop off the mega sale. Has anyone done the Almay deals at Wags in Spfd yet ? I must be having a hard time coming out of the flu week because Im having trouble comprehending this seemingly simple deal. Im hoping that it works here ! Praying that when I get down the driveway to my mailbox in a few that my surf and krusteaz coupons are there. Somehow I doubt it, but maybe the postoffice will make up to me for losing 3 train envies in the past 3 weeks .

I am one of the binder and accordion coupon shoppers! You'll find me pushing the cart with the attached car with my three year old, Kyler, hanging out of it and my sweet baby, Dylan, in his infant seat in the cart. Where do I put everything? On the very bottom and all around Dylan! Poor thing! (btw..if my math is ever off..now you may understand why =) ) Maybe we all meet up sometime! Christmas coupon party or parking lot tailgate party with all our free cheez-its and hot dots?? =)
