I have coupons for .40 off any two pillsbury or grand sweet rolls. I think got them from the SS on Oct. 24th. (Correct me if I'm wrong). I will use two of them, and my coupon from Pillsbury® Cinnamon Rolls from Pillsbury.com (http://www.pillsbury.com/products/breakfast/refrigerated/pillsbury-sweet-rolls.htm). Once you get to that page on the top right hand side it says $1.00 off. Print the coupon for $1.00 off any one pillsbury or grand sweet rolls. I just don't know if I can use more than one of the $1 off ones. Anyone know?
With my 3 coupons it will be $3.40 for six, and $4 OYNO. Is that a good deal?

Thanks for the ad! I've been waiting all day for this.
I'm kind of new to this whole saving money thing and I have a question.
Coming up is this deal: Crest 6.4 oz Toothpaste 3/5.00
Now I have 3 $0.75/1 crest coupons so would I be buy all three for around 50 cents? Do they allow coupons on sales?

Yep! That's how we are able to save so much. We match the sales to the coupons to get the best deals. Just stick around this forum and you'll learn fast. Most of us won't pay for toothpaste around here though because it's one item you can almost always get free.
With the Crest coupons, be sure to double-check which kinds/sizes the coupon lists. Crest coupons are notorious for having a lot of restrictions on sizes or types of toothpaste they can be used on and you want to make sure you're using them properly.

Oh, honey! Don't feel dumb. We all start somewhere. You'll find that we all have different standards. Some will pay for frozen pizzas, some only if they are free after q. Some will buy Pantene shampoo because it's all they use, others will "buy" any kind that is free. Don't sweat it. Feel free to PM anytime with questions or ask away in the forums. The people here are great. If it makes you feel better I've only been doing "extreme couponing" for about a year.

10-27-2009, 02:25:27 AM
If it helps, I have only been couponing for about 3 months. I am already to the point where I was struggling to pay 80 cents a box for granola bars. That just seemed high to me the other day!
Not a big week for me, I don't think. Any experienced couponers know when the baking sales start? I am ooouuuuttt of everything baking related. Except for pumpkin cookies pouches, lol!

Do you think the October CATs would still be in play?
Ziploc: $2 wyb 3 or more
Pillsbury: $2 wyb 4 or more
Also, I notice the wording on these ones (for the monthly deal) states "or more" so I wouldn't get 2 $2 CATs if I bought 6 ziploc bags in 1 transaction, would I?

I started doing a few coupons when I first got married 7 years ago, but then thought I was wasting my time because I didn't have a plan, wasn't organized and most of all--I didn't have an information power house such as this giant eagle group!! I am glad they are doing this deal again. I bought a ton of diapers last time and I looked when this was posted and they are almost gone. My daughter is still in pull ups at night and my son is in diapers so I have not been able to stock up at all on diapers for the baby!
It's sad that I am this excited over diapers!!

In the Catalina deals section, it's reported that the $2 OYNO is ending Wednesday 10/28. So it looks like only the $2 OYNMO (on your next meat order!?!) would be in effect. Am I correct in this?

There's a Global Announcement on the board about the new way we're supposed to post deals. I can't find the post or I would link to it here. But here's what I think the Super-Mod's would like:

TOTAL: Total price for number of items after all coupons and rebates.
SALE: Sale price. If unadvertised MegaSaver, please make a note

I can't believe I'm just now getting into coupons.Economics of scale ...
When items are manufactured in large quantities, the cost per item is l-o-w.
That can of beer or tube of toothpaste ...
The container (can or tube) probably costs more than the product inside!
I am guessing that that toothpaste costs them a whopping 5˘ to make.

I really do not like walking down the toothpaste aisle ... there is waaaay too much to choose from.

Every time GE has had a BOGO the item rings up half price & if you have a free coupon the sale price is what's deducted..........case in point - freshpets were ringing .99 each last week and with the free coupon it would only take off .99 for each Q......... so if the lunchmeat regular price is $4 (I don't know what the price is) they would ring up as $2 each making it $6 for 4 with the B3G1 Q's.

I don't know if we've had the Tyson meals but have had that or the Hormel. They are OK - very salty - but I like to keep them as a last minute meal. One would serve 3 people - it feeds DH and I and our 3 and 1 yr old. They keep forever in the fridge and it makes a quick meal with some stockpiled free pasta and free vegetables.

I just tried the beef pot roast this week. It was alright. The meat is just a lump of beef, not quite as appealing as the picture on the box. :giggle2: It wasn't near as tender as a roast made in the Crock Pot. But the flavor was pretty good.

I'm debating on getting some of these - I see the coupon shows....pork roast in gravy, beef steak tips, beef pot roast. Are these any good?
I've tried the chicken before. One was teriyaki and the other was marsala or something. They are pretty good for a quick and easy meal. Especially if you have tons of steamfresh rice and veggies to use it with

Salty but do make for a quick meal on those nights I am running the kids all over. We like to use them to make open-face hot gravy sandwiches. Great on a cold day!

There aren't any birds eye for $1 this week, are there? I ordered Qs and went away spur of the moment. I know we have the 5/$8 deal going on, but thought I would ask anyhow.
I see them at Giant PA, but they only double one like Q per deal, and no steeler bucks. Haven't checked Weis yet.

:mad37: I guess $2 isn't a bad price for meat.
I check the ad and the package list only 6oz/bag. Even precooked, less water, that seems a little high for me. I would need three bags each meal feeding six of us. So $6 for 18oz compared to $2/lb for fresh breast.
Tyson online list the bag of strips as 3.5 servings at 3oz/ serving so at 12oz/bag I'd splurge since it is precooked. I couldn't find a smaller size on their website, so slightly confused without seeing exactly what the store is offering.

My store is already out of tyson steak strips (got a rc for 6), the cinnamon rolls (got a rc for 6 - minus the $4, I'll pay $2 and use 2 .75 blinkies and pay .50), the grands jr (ditto). Also got another 2 rc's for cookie sheets.
I absolutely love when they are out of stuff - this way I don't have to cram everything into my fridge or my sister's.

No it's not. It is only producing the $2 ONYO Meat Cat........I was hoping. The bags are still 2/$5 and the containers are $2.49 so it's only $2.17 for 3 packs of containers after Q's and onyo cat.
Got to my store late afternoon and the cinnamon rolls and regular grands were all gone!! At least I got to do one deal w/jr. grands. Also the Cat that spit out says "Buy refrigerated: crescents, cookies, sweet rolls, grands biscuits, grands cinnamon rolls, loaves, breadsticks, or pizza crust between 10/5 and 11/1" as qualifiers. So at least til Sun. pretty much all pillsbury will qualify, after that I don't know if it switches to just grands and sweet/cinnamon rolls through 11/4 or what?? Of course many of the other items are not on sale, or on sale at 4/$7.

Buy $100 Best Buy gift cards at Giant Eagle, get a $10 oyno, plus double feul perks, plus there is a printable 10% off coupon good until 11/2/09 at Best Buy (I found the coupon on SD). I am thinking of getting DH an itouch and hoping they will pricematch w/Target, plus the 10% off.

Yes, cheapchick mentioned the Q a few pages back. I had seen the flour was on sale for $2, but I thought it was only through 10/28. I am going to the store soon, so I'll report back what I find. Included in the deal is the whole wheat flour, which is what I'm after!

My sister and I went and did the Pillsbury 6/$6 deal. We each got 6 grands and 6 cinnamon rolls. Each used 3 .40/2 cinnamons and 3 .30/2 (I think) grands. I went through the line first and neither of my $4 cats printed. She did the identical thing and she got 1 that printed! So weird. So we went to CS and they gave me an $8 gift card and her a $4 gift card. Nice since those don't expire.

I can also vouch for this. My mother was at Boscovs before they left the Pittsburgh area. I had a different experience with the ziploc containers that I thought I'd share. I purchased 6, one of which was the holiday version (green plastic color), and both of my $2 CATs printed. So I can say that it does work for the containers, anyway. Glad you got the 4 GC from CS, and hey, at least for the trouble you went through, you won't need to use it on meat, and it doesn't expire!

Go to:
Coupons (http://print.coupons.com/Couponweb/Offers.aspx?pid=12926&nid=10&zid=ta33)
There's a $1/2 q. The breakdown will be as follows:
$5.88
$5.88
$11.96
-$1 q
-$1 cat
$9.96 for 2 ($4.98 ea)
I'm assuming it's the big containers of coffee and, if so, that is a good price IMO (especially since the 13 oz containers usually sell for $3.99 ea)

IDK - we should call it a draw:hysterical:
I don't like rice krispie treats that you buy - I like to make them (cocoa krispies are the best) - I like them harder.
My son won't eat them either or pb&j - he takes salad or turkey wraps w/veggies or grilled chicken for lunch everyday. He won't eat school lunches because he says they don't cook as good as I do. Somedays, I just wish he'd buy his lunch so I could get a break in the a.m. (I also cook him bkfst every morning - it'd be nice if he ate cereal (since I have so much LOL) but, alas, he eats cereal for a late night snack and wouldn't think of eating it in the morning).

My store was out of the Pillsbury and Rice Crispys and the cake pans. They were going to just sub any other pan for that, but I actually found one hidden. They were also willing to do a rain check for it too. I forgot to get RC for the other stuff.
All in all with the bogo meats and a few others things, I saved 195 with my card, coupons and foodperks. not too bad.

Here's another idea if perhaps you have lots of the 1.00 and 2.00 oyno's like I do :-)
Blue Bonnet (fake) butter sticks - .75 each
2 x .75 = 1.50
minus 1.00 oyno = .50
.25 a box & great to use with all the cookie mixes
Pillsbury cinnamon rolls - 1.00 each
6 x 1.00 = 6.00
minus (3) .40/2 = 3.60
minus 2.00 oyno = 1.60
earn 4.00 oyno
Pillsbury bisquits - 1.00 each
6 x 1.00 = 6.00
minus (3) .30/2 = 4.20
minus 2.00 oyno = 2.20
earn 4.00 oyno
** Frederick Shoppers - the GE on 7th St has plenty of the Pillsbury, in the regular spot and also on an end cap by the frozen foods/yogurts.
- also the Eagle's Nest has Healthy Choice coupons on the counter. They are in a very small Healthy Choice box & says 'valuable coupons inside' - all expire 12/31/09
1.00/1 HC frozen meal
1.00/2 HC soups
1.00/1 HC fresh mixers
- also there is a display by the Eagle's Nest that has the Jingle in your Holidays booklets
AJS6726
10-31-2009, 10:24:19 PM
Then to use the 4.00 oyno cats - going to do this order twice (hope I have the math correct)
6 BC frostings @ 1.50 each = 9.00
3 BC cake mixes @ 1.25 each = 3.75
3 BC cookie mixes @ 1.00 each = 3.00
3 Wilton pans = free wyb above
total = 15.75
minus:
(6) .50/1 frostings
(3) .40/1 cookies
(1) 4.00 oyno
total = 6.35
...oops, bad math!! (thanks csthedays) - correct total = 3.35
* earn (3) cats for 2.00 off eggs

Has anyone else bought the breakfast pockets yet? I ask cause the cat machine at the register I was at spit out tape on each trans, but of course it was out of ink so I have no idea what they were supposed to be.....hoping it's a hidden cat since I know nothing else on the orders would produce them.
If you have $1 onyos they are free with 2 .75/1 Q's & one $1 onyo. Yes, it's a lot of transactions to do it since you can only use 1 on each trans, but worth it if you just want them.
I did:
$4 -4 cookie mixes
$5.49 - 1 pan
$4 - 2 breakfast pockets
= $13.49 - $3.20 (.40/1 cookie) - $5.49 (free pan) - $3 (.75/1 Breakfast HP) = $1.80 - $1 onyo = .80

Well - I had (20) oyno's to use (1.00 & 2.00 values). I used 5 of them today - 5 sep. transactions ... 15 more to go !! I don't mind breaking up the orders and usually the cashiers are quick but today the store was packed and this girl was sooo slow & stared at all my coupons for each transaction & was not a quick scanner. I just kept my back to the rest of the line and made no eye contact - lol. Anyways, you have to do multiples to use them all up before they expire - happy shopping !!

I am heading the Best Buy tomorrow at South Hills Village to do some Christmas shopping. The reason?
Buy $100 Best Buy gift cards at Giant Eagle, get a $10 oyno, plus double feul perks, plus there is a printable 10% off coupon good until 11/2/09 at Best Buy (I found the coupon on SD). I am thinking of getting DH an itouch and hoping they will pricematch w/Target, plus the 10% off.
I know this is not food-related, but perhaps somebody else is interested and maybe overlooked this deal. I also need a new fridge, so I'm going to test the waters with the itouch. It is hard to imagine going through the line 18 times to buy 18 $100 gift cards, but hey...I'll get $180 of oyno's! I'll report back....
Couple of questions - how did it go? Also, I am searching all over SD for the 10% off and can only find one that expired 9/30. Any help? We just got the "exciting" unexpected news that our washer is broken and would cost > $400 to repair. And because we have an attached dryer, guess what?? We're getting both. Getting this deal would help a ton.
ETA: Found the coupon, thanks! And it is 12% off major appliances.
I'm also going to call BB to see how many gifts cards they allow to be used at once and will report back.
Thank you soo much!

Went to GE and got the Tyson Ham entrees, they had the best fat/calorie ratio. They were very good and worth it for a quick meal, kids ate it and asked for more! Only had 12 Grands Jr left and no Cinnamon rolls. Any idea how many rain checks I could get? Do you get them all on one slip and have to buy them all at once, or each slip with 6 for the deal? Thanks

I swear it's a YMMV. Sometimes at my GE they put a number of items I can get on the RC and sometimes they don't. I've had them do multiple RCs before like say you get 2 RCs and each time you turn one in you buy 6 Pillsbury products. That way you can get 6 right away and then bide your time on the rest. I don't know how long they keep in the fridge and you sure can't freeze them! *POP* I just don't want a jillion little tubes rolling out of my fridge when I open it! :wink7:
petergabrielfan
11-02-2009, 02:18:25 PM
At my store the max numbers of items that they'll write a RC for is 6 (or 6 sets of 2 if it's a BOGO sale). As pp said, it seems like a YMMV situation.

I went this morning and did 3 transactions of pillsbury products (2 sets of cinnamon rolls and 1 set of grands). After the 4th cinnamon roll was scanned, a cat for 15 bonus box tops spit out. Did this for both orders of cinnamon rolls but not for the grands.
I was able to get a rc last night for 12 cinnamon rolls @ 6/$2. Most rc's I've been getting are for 6. I haven't gotten any rc's for the grands or grand jr's because they have been plentiful.
I can't wait for my friend to come up this weekend for the Giant Eagle expo at Monroeville Mall (and to visit me of course LOL) - she'll be taking home 2 dozen cinnamon rolls and at least a dozen grands (hopefully 2 dozen) and I'll have some fridge space.

I meant to respond to this post days ago but never did. You are right, only the big boxes of diapers are included in this deal so it's not that great. I did see a Huggies deal coming up at CVS on 11/22 so I am going to save my qs for that.

Yes, there are also coupons for the biscuits. The ones I've seen are .30/2 for the Grands biscuits, making it .20 for 6 cans. The sweet roll coupons are .40/2, making it a .40 MM for 6 cans.

I got a great deal when I went to my North Royalton store. The blinkie machine for the Pillsbury was 75c off of 3.... with DND 5!!! So, I did sets of 6 of the Grands that are $1.
Grands 6x $1= $6
Coupon 75c/3 x 2 doubled= $3
OOP $3 get $4 OYNO!
I think they loaded the machine with the wrong coupons, since every other store had those with DND 9. I'm hoping to find more of the cinnamon $1 rolls.
I found this out late last night and just forgot to post it up for any of the peeps around me.
I also got more Yoplait. The whips are perfect for my almost 3 year old messy girl! And for $5.60 for 20 (used 3 40c/6 and 1 get 2 free cat) it's worth it for her. More expensive than the Disney, but the amount of muscle needed to clean the table after her is significantly less.

I went and did the baby deal on formula- we just supplement so I don't buy it that often...
2 cans 22.49
$44.98- 2 $5 Q's- 2 $5 formula checks- $24.98- $6 cat-$3 cat (double dip WYB 2 large cans- nice surprise!)= $15.98- send in for a $15 rebate that I got from the hopsital and Grand total is .98 for 2 large cans
And they were bonus 20% more cans!
oooo that is a good deal. I just supplement too, so I only get "free" formula to use. This baby will drink anything so brand isn't the problem. Now I need to look for the rebate. I'm amazed at the cost of formula, wow.

They are rare these days! I was able to find 8 of the Pillsbury sweet rolls on early Monday morning (around 7am) - I picked up 6 for the deal. I usually notice plenty of people stocking at that time in the morning - I wonder if they would have more stock in the back?

Haha - I found 12 of the cinnamon and 6 of the grands around the same time Monday morning (went after I dropped my son off). If you were at your usual stores, we just missed each other:giggle2: I found 6 cinnamon rolls later yesterday afternoon too.
Am heading out this morning to get the rest of my Tyson strips, more grands, cinnamon rolls, frosting, cookie mix (they do have the holiday pouches at the Bethel Park Market district - near the frozen food in aisle 10 - closer to the bread), hamburger helper and more brownie mixes. If I get pans, that'll be great - otherwise, I'll just add my rc's to my pile.

This is no big deal but I thought I would mention it in case anyone buys this stuff on a regular basis. In the produce department they have 6 oz. bags of Mariani's dried fruit. Regular price is $3.99. They are on sale for $3.00. I don't know for how long. The tropical fruit pineapple and trail mix had .75 off peelies on them. It would end up being $1.50 for the bag of dried fruit.

Not sure where to post this but since the coffee is on sale this week I will post this here!
I got the Maxwell House Coffee for $5.88 today. I had a coupon for $1 off 2 so purchased 2. The cat that came out was for $1 on next trip NOT for the Giant Eagle Creamer as posted on the November cat deals. Just thought I would let you know in case anyone wanted to buy the coffee but did not like the idea of a cat for creamer vs money value on whatever you want.

Bethel Park Market District GE has a lot of the 5 ct cinnamon rolls - was just there. They also have plenty of the cookie mix, cookie sheets and cake pans.

Hey - another one of us with twins! That makes 6 so far I think! And no pittsburgh24, we have no plans to add to the list :)
My boy twins are 15. Man time flies.

OK just got back from my last run for this sale. One GE was out of the pans. I asked if they were issuing rainchecks and she gave me one on the spot with out even verifying I bought the stuff. Which I hadn't yet, I was just asking so I knoew what to do. That GE was out of anything that was $1/1 pillsbury. They did have Pillsbury Holiday cookies 2/$3. I used 2 75˘/2 coupons and got $2 oyno so I paid $1 for 4.
My regular GE had tons of Cinn Rolls. I picked up 24 more. They also were out of pans and did not have any holiday cookie mix so I didn't even bother with a rain check.
