kind off topic, but since we order them for Giant Eagle sales, I figured I'd ask here.
So, I ordered a bunch of coupons for Snuggle Fab softner. The item had picture to it (10) $3.00 snuggle coupons - eBay (item 220497127130 end time Oct-19-09 12:58:59 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220497127130&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT) and in no area did it say it was a printed coupon or was copied. The coupons I recieve are colored copies and not good ones! I did the water test and the ink bled. Needless to say, I'm a bit po'd since I paid a good bit for them.
What is my recourse? Contact the seller and ask for money back? Dispute it thru Ebay? Try to use them at the stores? I was a bit miffed to because the seller kept telling me my paypal payment didnt' go thru. (I've checked with my credit card company about it)
Any imput on how to deal with this or avoid it next time?

I would first talk to the seller about it. If they are reputable, they will work with you. if you get no where through them, if you paid through paypal, I would file a dispute through them.

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. Whatever you do please don't try to use them. It will only cause you embarrassment and the hassle of explaining why you are attempting to use counterfeit coupons.
I only purchase items from people who have sold many times and have 100% or very close to that feedback. I have purchased expensive Steeler tickets and many things and have never had an issue when buying from someone with many sales and good feedback.
I don't think I would waste my time with the seller if you are sure they are fraudulent. I would check Ebay under FAQ. I'm sure they have a procedure to follow when this happens. Good luck.

As an Ebay seller (not coupons however) I can tell you that you should file with Paypal to get your money back (item was NOT as described and if you paid with a credit card you can do a chargeback and Paypal will help you with that) I would also file with Ebay...For Paypal go to your account...click on Resolution Center (top of the page) and click report a problem...for Ebay...go to your account and at the top under the help button you will see Resolution Center...click on that and it will help you!!

Email the seller that the item is fake ask for your $ back & tell them you will file a complaint with Pay Pal. File a complaint with Pay Pal and your credit card company to dispute the charges. (If you paid by Pay Pal.) I believe you need to file a dispute with them first before Ebay. But also dispute the charges w/ your Credit Card company immediately. Do NOT USE THE FAKE COUPONS! Your credit card company will probably advise you to mail them back to the party.

thanks for the info. I emailed the seller to voice my disappointment. I also canceled the payment thru paypal. Since we were having problems with paypal (or that is what he told me) he said he would send the coupons before he got confirmed payment. I thought this person was being nice.
Yeah...this person doesn't have many sells under their belt, but all the feed back was positive.
Do I need to say something to Ebay?

Did you file a complaint with paypal?
I never buy IP coupons off Ebay. I try and buy Whole inserts.. so far I have done pretty good with picking the sellers.. and I go back to the same ones each week..

When I purchased an item on ebay and it wasn't the real deal, I filed a report through eBay which also went through Paypal. The resolution happened through Paypal and I got my money back.
I, personally, would file through eBay so they are aware of what is going on and it would help others in the future. Don't forget about feedback as well.

I wouldn't buy and IP either. Heck..I would print it myself. I just went on to paypal and clicked cancel payment. Everything with this seller sounds fishy. I've never seen the same exact coupon like and insert coupon on an online printable site. What site is this person getting them from?
So..what would you do with this? Here is the response...
Im sorry you dont want the coupons but they are not fraud...i printed them from an online coupon site and I have used several of them myself and they work just fine. I have never received any payment so if you would just send my coupons back if you dont want them. Im sorry you feel this way.

report them to ebay. I'm prettysure that ebay policy is no more than 2 of the same IP can be auctioned (someone with more ebay knowledge than me, correct me if I am wrong)(eta- of course I am 99.99999999% sure that this is not a legit IP so that is a moot point)
if you go to their listings then completed listings, they have "made" around $200 auctioning "snuggle coupons" also if you go through their feedback and click on see listing, most of their purchases are ink cartridges... interesting, LOL
sorry you are in this situation.
please leave feedback after you deal with the seller thru PP and ebay.

Michelle,
The thing is he never stated those were IPs in the listing nor did he state the picture was a picture from the inserts and not what the true product. I'm as sure as carisal those you received are fraudulent. Also I found what carisal was talking about the limit of 2 IPs (http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/manufacturers-coupons.html).
I would no longer use direct communication with this seller and go through the resolution center (http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/report-trading.html) to clear up the rest of his shenanigans. I would not think you are required to return fraudulent coupons either, eBay should be able to clarify your obligation if any.

I will def contact ebay and let them know.

Please make sure to leave negative feedback for that person right away so you can warn other buyers if he continues to try to sell those fakes.

Are you kidding me! Isn't this against the law and Ebay policy? Please, please for the sake of all couponers report this fraud to Ebay! No wonder stores are starting to act like hawks, because some newbies can come in with this fradulent coupons and then they think every couponer is like that! He deserves to be fined and should be reported somewhere else too, some of you will surly know where!
Leave the feedback for all the sellers that they all bought fake coupons! Please!
