Mega Deal Scores/Scenarios...

I was hoping some of you who got the jump on the shopping yesterday might want to post some of the good deals you got. Im still trying to figure what to do to maximize value :)


Im headed there after lunch to check it out... can you believe that as of 4pm yesterday the kroger ad for my store was still last weeks ad? I was like.. wow the post deal again? Um no.. they are just behind as usual.

Can anyone confirm that we are getting the snuggle on sale?

Can't help you as I haven't hit Kroger yet, but when you look at their ad on their site on Sunday, look at the left hand column, part way down. It should have a spot where you can click to see the next days ad, which worked for me (Lansing, MI). I think it was under the "Other Specials" tab. I don't if this was something new or if I just never noticed it before...if its new, lets hope they keep doing it.

If in one transaction we do..
3 gatorade,
4 carnation milk
Bogo ricola 2

That would be 3.00- 5.00 mega deal means 2.00 in overage for the tenth item like a bottle of all.

Am on the right track here or?????

OK, I am really really new to this whole couponing thing, however, I shopped yesterday afternoon and saved a total of $112+ dollars on my grocery bill. That's the most that I have ever saved. Here are a couple of the really great deals that I can remember.

(4) Franks Red Hot Sauce is on Sale $2.49 -$.50 off w/ your card = $1.99 each.
I had 2 MM q's $.50 ea. doubled =$2
I had 2 q's from Franks Website $.50 ea. doubled =$2
FREE after coupons

(4) Keebler Fudge Shop Cookies $1.49 - $.50 off w/ your card = $.99
(1) $1.50 q on 1 and (2) $1/2q and (1) $1/1q
$.50 for 4 after coupons - (sorry, cant remember which coupons came from which site, coupons.com and smartsource are 2 that I do remember)

(2) OreIda Frozen Potatoes $2.49 - $.50 off w/your card = $1.99
(2) $1.50q on 1 and (2) $1/1 on 1
Made $1 on these items YAY

(2) Hormel Pepperoni $2.99 - $.50 off w/your card = $2.49
(2) $.35q doubled = $.75 each
$1.74 each pkg - not to be I don't think - i use alot of it with my son

(2) Chex Mix $1.99-$.50 off w/your card = $1.49
(6) $.50 q doubled = $3.00
FREE after coupons

(2) Colgate Toothpaste $1.59-$.50 = $1.00
(1) Colgate Toothbrush $1.59-$.50 - $1.00
(1) $1/1q Toothpaste
(1) $.75q Toothpaste (1) $/75 Toothbrush
(1) FREE Toothpaste and (1) $.25 Toothpaste and (1) $.25 Toothbrush

There were alot more, but these are some that are coming right to my head. Oh, the great BoGo on the meat is a great deal if you can get it as our stores. English roast and some of the steaks. Well worth stocking up in the freezer.

I saw that you said you were new to the coupon thing so I just wanted to lend a hand.

On the keebler you said:

$.50 for 4 after coupons

If you just had 4 packages of keebler, you would be ONLY able to use to following:
(1) 1.50 q on 1 or (4) 1.50/1 q's on 4 OR

(2) $1/2q on 4
OR
(4) $1/1 on 4.
Or a mixture of (1) $1/2 q and (2) 1.50 or 1 off 1 q's.. But not all.

On the Ore-IDa you said:

You could be able to use:
(2) 1.50/1 q's OR
(2) $1/1 q's

I did not copy and paste the others that I saw but you have to remember It is only ONE coupon PER item.

I think on your chex mix you said it was 3.00 before coupons and then you used (6) .50 coupons?

Trust me I love free stuff and cheap stuff.. but we have to make sure we use our coupons correctly..:) All of us here on Kroger Great Lakes and of course the whole HCW site are more than happy to help with any coupon questions you might have.

We were all new to couponing and had that d'oh moment. Would be happy to help if you have any future questions as it seems like with a few minor adjustments you will be on the right track to saving tons of money..:BigHand:

In OH weve been getting them after every harris tetter one and HT is having them this week so I was hoping with the mega sale = cha-ching. BUT I went back and looked and it looks like we ussually get them 3 days after the HT ad ends. So, that would be next week if so and most weeks AFTER a mega sale ends the ad sucks so probably nothing to get excited about.

I need to go to the store so I am thinking about putting it off till Friday just in case :giggle2:

A few things I remember off the top of my head from my trip to Howell where they double up to $1. These are after the $5 has come off:

Nestle Toll House Morsels $.99 ea after $1/2 doubled
Tombstone Pizzas $.99 ea after $1/2 doubled (don't know where these came from, got em in a trade)

I'll have to see if I can find my receipt...
