Well if this is true, I'm going to write them and tell them how I feel. I'm going to stop shopping there. I can do better at Aldi's or other stores that double and don't have limits. So sad, cause I love my HT. But not if they are not having any coupon events!!

I'm reserving judgement until that is confirmed, but if that is true, I'm done with HT. I've had so many problems at mine, anyway. I had shopped there whether there were SD or Trpl but I think that's what they are relying in. The "occasional" bone thrown my way just won't do it anymore. I've learned too much since couponing and now know that they the highest prices in my area and have poor CS. So my dollars are going down the street. Talking to management hasn't worked!!!

I am just going there for amazing deals and that is it. I am going to buy some more cake mixes theere this week after I pick my daughter up. Honestly unless something isn't a great deal after coupons I am not even going to bother going there. So all I am going to get there this week is some cake mixes and some magic erasers I am going to ger for a buck a a pack becasue they are on sale. I buy the cake mixes to make for hubby work his co workers love to eat some cake. If I can make a cake for a couple quaters people at his work would like me to make one atleast one a week.

Wow. If that's the case I may rethink the 95% of my grocery shopping at HT. The service levels have gone done and prices up. On AFC someone posted Bloom is doing Super Doubles in Va starting Wednesday. If the Blooms here in Charlotte do I will switch my shopping habits. During the last SuperDoubles at Bloom all of the cashiers were super friendly and enjoyed watching how much I saved.

Bloom superdoubles in VA?? I've never shopped there, before.
I like my local HT, but only because they frequently send out $/$$ coupons. I also got Febreeze noticables for $2 each (on sale for $5.99 -$4MQ). Most of the time, I don't shop there, though. I've been doing most of my grocery shopping at Super Target.

I'm not surprised at all. I think they are cutting back on these events. But I still shop the weekly sales matched with q's. Hoping for a BOGO Hellmann's sale soon. Need mayo!

Well, i am really really disappointed to say the least. I LOVE shopping at HT and with couponing I had found a way to do it and even spend my non couponing money there as well. But now I just won't be able to. Overall their prices are just so much higher and without the awesome events they flooded us with over the past few months only to pretty much pull the plug on them, I just can't!! I mean you would think they would at least give us one a month during the holiday season. Their weekly specials havn't been that great either lately...what is going on? They have plenty of competition here in Charlotte so why do they think they can stop these events and still do well. I know that they lost a lot of customers when the Super Walmart on Sardis Rd North opened a few years ago so if that hurt them how can stopping coupon events not. I am just so UPSET!!! I love you HT!!! Don't do this to me!!!

Bummer..... I have a bunch of coupons that I have gathered to use for HT's SD and most of them expire 10/31 :( I guess I need to find other stores to use these coupons before they expire!
Although a little disappointed but definitely won't stop me from shopping at HT, matching coupons for their weekly sale.
Cheers...

Me too. I love my HT. It is only 5 minutes away from where we live in the middle of nowhere for this NYC girl. Plus, I have a toddler and a baby girl arriving any day (my EDD is tomorrow). I have done really well this year cutting our grocery budget using coupons at HT and matching their weekly sales. I don't have the time or gas money to be hopping all over town. I guess that is what they are counting on. I have to say my HT has the absolute best CS of anywhere around!

I have always used HT as my primary grocery store partly b.c of the coupon events. Now, I will go where it is cheapest and only do the weekly deals that match with my coupons. It's a shame b.c my HT is very clean and the CS people there are very nice and extremely courteous. I could care less about Kroger going under (if that should happen) b/c their CS people are just the WORST. But I like my HT peeps and would feel bad if something bad happened to them. However, the bottom line is just that ---I gotta go where I can find the cheapest price. Sorry, HT, you are overpriced on almost everything.

I wish I knew the reason(s) for the sudden stop of special coupon events. They *were* just doing it like Thursday through Sunday, instead of all week. Why can't they go back to that? If they did a four day event every month, and alternated super doubles one month, and triples the next, then that would make me happy! :BigHand:

I have found that if I buy the reduced price meat and produce and shop with coupons, HT is the cheapest place for me to shop. CS at HT always pushes beeping coupons through with no questions asked. One of the co-managers goes out of his way to chat with us whenever he sees us and make balloons for my kids. They have great BOGO specials with their meat and I can always find those yellow stickers on bacon, hot dogs, and their fresh meat reducing the price. I hate Wal-Mart and find that their meat is not any cheaper and then I have to deal with madness. Lowe's Foods has the same prices as HT, but don't discount their meat and produce as deeply. I have had success with cheap meat at Food Lion, but it is hit or miss and they don't double coupons. HT has my business with a smile. I love them!

Actually Triples/Super Doubles may happen week 11/11/09 (per the Scan Coordinator that I talked to today). She didn't know FOR SURE the EXACT DATE yet. Since that is 2 weeks out--we shall see.
They may rotate the Triples/Super Doubles (nothing week of Thanksgiving as far as I know). I will post more info as the need arises.

adopt some of my new rules.
1. ignore rumors. :shrug7:
2. watch your weekly ad or their website for the "official" word.
3. use reverse psychology.....assume they will never have triples or super doubles again, and maybe you get surprsied very soon, instead of disappointed every week.
4. send corporate a little letter and explain how you go out of your way to travel to their stores, over the competitors, due to their triples-super doubles.
5. I'm hopeful they do it by Nov. 30th, I have some very good coupons that will go to waste. Another good set of coupons expiring Dec. 31st.

I was talking to HT manager last week (in Northern Virginia) and asked when Super Doubles were coming.. He said something like he saw the next couple of ads and not in there. I got the impression that no triples were coming the next couple of weeks. So sad!

Not necessarily--we live in N VA too. The Scan Coordinator I talked to said more likely Triples week of 11/11/09 or 11/19/09 before Thanksgiving Day. We'll see, I guess.:hectic1::wink7:
