I went today to grab some silicone bakeware at $3.99 sale, and saw the Fit and Active brand. I bought a cream of mushroom and cream of chicken at $.69 each to compare to Campbell's.

Fit and Active has 60 calories and 2g fat per 1/2c serving. Campbell's has 100 calories and 6g of fat per 1/2c serving.

This brand does have advantages as out where I am (Iowa) as now I have a cheaper and healthier choice - and we go through a ton of Cream of soups.

When I have a chance I'll compare the cream of chicken and update this post.

How does it taste compared to Campbell's?

We had tatertot casserole last night with the Fit and Active Cream of Mushroom. I found the taste to be nearly identical, but it did have a less fatty taste to it than cream of mushroom. Not bad at all, just reminded me of Campbell's Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom (rather than the regular cream of mushroom)... which makes it an awesome find for me as I can never get Healthy Request cream soups under $1.00+

Edit: yep, checked and healthy request cream of mushroom has 70 cal and 2g fat per 1/2 c serving. Makes Fit and Active cream soups a GREAT find for me!!!

Most Campbells also have MSG in them, I've discovered to my disappoinment. My hubby has become very sensitive to it. My pantry is going to diminish as I try to avoid MSG, corn syrups, sodium, trans fats, etc. No wonder our society is so un-healthy, all the crap they put in these processed foods.
