I know a couple months ago their IP policy changed to not accept IP for $2 or more and no free items. I was told that in my store and also saw it on the corporate webpage. Today while there I was getting 5 steamfresh veggies with 5 coupons so I could not go to the sco. (at my store if you use 3 like coupons it freezes for an employee to "turn the key" and override) Anyway, while in the express lane I saw a sign that said that only take IP for less than $5 and no free items. The cashier was a high school boy who had no clue and I was in a hurry and did not ask at CS. Just curious if anyone knows if it changed again or is this an old sign that no one else has noticed for months!:giggle2:

Haven't seen anything but, the smart ones brochure we received recently in the mail from GE said to go to the smart ones website to download a $5/10 q - I didn't bother because the max for IP's is supposed to be $3. They have never taken free IP q's.

I know a week ago I had the Buy 1dozen eggs get 1 dozen free IP. Well the cashier said I dont think I can accept this and she had to call over a manager who examined the coupon very closely but decided to take it? Its probably different by store.

I'm not sure...I thought it was 5$ and no frees - but I might be confusing the 5$ limit with Rite Aid's new policy...LOL
Maybe they changed it for the Snow White coupon? Because those they sent you directly to the disney site from the GE site, and wasnt that a 5$ coupon? or was it 10$?

A couple weeks ago the cashier didn't let me use a $3 IP on the glade candles. They were on sale for $2.99 and she couldn't make it go through, and she told me it was because they weren't supposed to accept IPs for more than $2. But who knows if she just made that up on the spot because she couldn't get it to work.... GRRRRRRR

Last week, a teen aged cashier said they could not accept the following IP coupon:
B1G1F Renuzit solid air freshener
+
They said they could not accept 'free' IP coupons.
I was about to point out that it was a B1G1F IP coupon.
Instead, I instructed them to take the two Renuzits off of my total and that after paying for my groceries, I would take them and the coupon to the Customer Service Desk.
At the Customer Service Desk, all I said was, "I would like to pay for these two items."
Without a blink, they scanned the items and then the coupon.

In terms of a IP coupon policy ...
I believe that only when a major announcement regarding them takes place, there will be no policy that all the stores will adhere to ... it is a YMMV until then.

The official policy on the GE website still states $3.00 max. But that doesn't mean it isn't about to change -especially with them linking $10 Q's to their ad!!

Jen276here: What are you talking about when you say they're linking $10 Q's to their ad? I'm still pretty green and I'm trying to figure out all of this stuff.....lol

I've never used a super-high value IP at my Giant E, but I know that mine will accept BOGO IPs, just not straight free IPs. I have no idea what the dollar amount is that mine will accept though.

Which actually reminded me why I saved a copy of that ad. My store claims they don't take Ips.

The Giant Eagle in Austintown will not except B1G1 Free IP coupons. At the Brook Park, OH Giant Eagle located on Snow Road:
They must have talked to all the cashiers because they now do not accept free IP coupons.
That included B1G1F IP coupons.
I was attempting to use the B1G1F Renuzit solid IP coupon from coupons.com and they saw that word 'free.'
The cashier said that they could not accpet any free IP coupons and I did not want to argue the point so I told the cashier to take the two Renuzits off of my transaction.
I then took the two Renuzit solids to the Customer Service Desk saying that I would like to pay for them, which I did without any hassle.

On Monday, 11/02/2009 I called Giant Eagle's Customer hotline.
I explained the situation du jour about the B1G1F IP coupon and she checked with her supervisor ...
"The store has the right not to accept any free IP coupons ... end of story."
+
I just take my coupons an my hard earned money to another Giant Eagle store that does accept them.
