there is a new Kroger Market Place opened by my moms house an dI was wondering if anyone has been to this store, like Dbl / Trpl per transactions, or do they accept internet printables?

so do we have to ask to get the info (double triple accept internet coupons etc), or is it "as you get it" (whatever the cashier rings)

Whereabouts on Grand Parkway? someone told me something about one, but I thought they were confused with another location.

I would try to call and ask their Q policy ... or, stop at svc desk and ask before shopping. That way, I wouldn't be surprised at checkout!! ... and, if I was, I'd promptly go to svc desk and say, "Huh???? but YOU said ...!!"

I'd ask manager when you are in the store to find out. Don't ask a cashier, they normally make crap up anyways!

at 59 & 99? ... been a while since I've been up that way. Isn't there a HEB & Walmart right there, too (between 59 & old 90)? ... 3 d/t might make it worth it ... although, I can hit 2-3 stores in Katy for about the same miles ... hmmmm...

Well, it seems I am going to get to tour the new fabulous store and speak with the Consumer Affairs manager. What, besides the coupon policy would you guys like me to ask her while I have her undivided attention?

Well, it seems I am going to get to tour the new fabulous store and speak with the Consumer Affairs manager. What, besides the coupon policy would you guys like me to ask her while I have her undivided attention?

if it's Ruth, tell her thanks for putting up with me!! If it's not, tell 'em she's a nice lady!!

now ... questions ... hmmm, how many hours you gonna have her?:hysterical:
AND please tell them thank you for getting involved with the Shortcuts problems!!! (but I still haven't figured out if, next time I don't have a Q come off, if I'm supposed to contact SC or Kroger to get it fixed, since I reached the "dispute limit" SC set:shrug7:)

My biggest question is how come they allow managers to drop Q acceptance to 1 d/t instead of keeping our region 3 d/t. (I realize mgr's have to have some authority, but seems like driving customers away to HEB & Randall's it should be Division or Corporate decision.) ... couponers buy meat, veggies, prescriptions, and a lot of stuff that we don't have Qs for ... where would they prefer we spend that $$, 'cuz Randall's also does 1 d/t AND offers loadables on their card, (and has higher quality meat, at least on the beef)?????

When are they going to start paying me for bringing my reusable bags? like the do in other region. -- I give Kroger a LOT of free advertising, using those bags. Seems like I should at least get ¢ per bag at check out OR 3d/t at ALL stores in region for all that free advertising! (and I had to pay for the bags to give them free advertising... go figure!)

How often, if ever, are they gonna do Super Doubles? will it last more than ONE day? and will they remember to re-set computers to do d/t after it's done (next time)!

What is the definition of:
Ground beef
Fresh chicken
or do we need to get the Meat Mkt Mgr to write that on the products as we buy them? (only partially :hysterical:)

Please inform managers that couponers are NOT the only people that can clear shelves on good sales (what comes to mind is months ago when they had bags of Totinos Rolls for $1 -- couponers got blamed for clearing shelves -- WHO wouldn't stock up on them at that price????) ... a lot of other shoppers do it, as much or more than couponers. Add to that, we only get the number of items that they allow Qs to d/t (1-3) at a time, NOT a basketful!! ... and inform managers that it's corporate policy to d/t, and CORPORATE sets the prices, -- it's not OUR fault we get some items at excellent prices or free, we're following CORPORATE rules so some managers/employees shouldn't get mad at us for doing so ... and driving customers to HEB & Randalls in the process.

And, how come, when you write corporate about a Q question, they send the same "canned" response instead of answering the question? and take a LONG time to even get the canned response.

When are you gonna meet with this person? given time, I'm sure I could come up with a bunch more questions!!

lol, I can always expect to have a days worth of questions from you

I meet with her on the 7th and no it is not Ruth
Here is what I am getting from you so far:
1. Do managers have the discretion to set coupon limits and can they not clearly post that to make our lives easier
2. What happened to the bag credit that you had previous and are there any plans to bring it back? Target is doing it, hint hint
3. Super doubles, what is up with the rumors, we WANT to know
4. Is there a better coupon policy in WRITING than the canned response that doesn't answer even half the questions that I have sent more than twice now

!! Yep! you can blame my moma for that! her theory was if you don't ask, you may never get what you want!

I meet with her on the 7th (Good! plenty of time to think up more questions!!) and no it is not Ruth
Here is what I am getting from you so far:
1. Do managers have the discretion to set coupon limits and can they not clearly post that to make our lives easier -- actually, corporate told me they do have the discretion ... my question is WHY, since it drives away customers (I'm sure Division Mgr gets an override on sales ... then, again, he/she may think 1 d/t is great, too -- one of those double-edged swords)l However, yeah, having it posted would be nice ... AND whoever answers the store phone giving good information would be good, too! (wouldn't believe the number of times I've been told, "uh ... I don't know, let me ask somebody" -- for cryin' out loud! They're supposed to be the service desk! and don't even know their own store's Q policy, much less what a "like Q" is???)
2. What happened to the bag credit that you had previous and are there any plans to bring it back? Target is doing it, hint hint (actually, I've never gotten one ... but you can tell them I moved here from up north! I think they get 5¢ a bag or something like that. Also heard something about CVS giving credit!)
3. Super doubles, what is up with the rumors, we WANT to know
4. Is there a better coupon policy in WRITING than the canned response that doesn't answer even half the questions that I have sent more than twice now

Being me, I'd talk about how some SMs' attitude to couponers is shameful ... how 'bout a little "sensitivity training" in THAT area? ... we are NOT the root of ALL evil, just part of it!

All for now ...!

Ok, wait, the new store isn't 99 and 59, its further up 99 closer to Katy. There is a new store opening soon near me, like 1 mile away, 59 in Richmond, exit Reading Road... can't wait :) That will definatly be "my' store! LOL

Gonna have to drive up 59 and see for myself! ... y'all both sound convinced!
I knew about the Marketplace (going toward Houston) on the right side fo 59, between Reading and FM 762/Thompson Hwy ... in the same shopping center is an Academy, Cracker Barrel, Sonic, WAG, Anna's Linens(I think). On the other side of 59 is Home Depot, Target, Petco, Office Depot, some banks and restuarants.

Haven't seen the one on 99&mason ... just looked up the one the site's saying, on S Grandparkway (but doesn't mention the Marketplace one:shrug7:)... and yea, it is at mason, but it's a mason rd S of 1093/Westheimer. Coming from Rosenberg, I'd go 90E, Lt onto 359. When 359 bears left (that curve north of Randall's) --(think there's a light there) becomes Farmer Rd -- stay kinda straight to get onto Farmer. At 99 Farmer becomes Mason, LT onto 99, then just a little ways down.

What happened to the thing of Krogers making a big deal of grand openings and advertising it? ... How they heck are we supposed to know it's there?
Durn, the one on 99S of 1093, I coulda "swept by" on my way back from Katy stores if I'd known where it was! ... or, could run by it when I run by Randall's ... jeez.

wouldn't be surprised if ZM got the exit correct and there is a new one at 99 & 59 ... esp with the competitor stores up in that part of 99!

There is a new Marketplace store open on 99 @ Mason. They sell furniture! It is a huge place, a little overwhelming. Reminds me of a Super WalMart.

I love my Katy Kroger!

Thank you to all of you for helping me get this coupon thing down!

lol. glad you told me, I would have headed to the wrong one. I noticed the address but I guess I never knew Mason extended all the way to 99, when did that happen? I do know there is a wags at mason/westpark toll, just thought it was a dead ended subdivision after that:wink7:

Guess I will have to try and drive by so I know where I am going on the 7th:giggle2:

ZM, according the mapquest Mason does NOT go all the way to 99 ... it just shows a piece of it at 99.

Nena, yep, there's a WAG on NW corner of 99 @ Mason, Kroger is on the NE corner (across 99).

ZM, don't know which way you'll be coming from, but unless you're just out exploring, I'd go 1093 to 99S (toward 59) ... or, the opposite if coming from 59. Looking at mapquest, looks closer to 1093/Westheimer than 59.

BTW, asked Svc Desk lady their Q policy ... didn't know, BUT signs at registers say 1 d/t ... cashier had no idea when I asked her.

Think Svc Desk said store opened 10/9/09 (or somewhere near that date, I don't remember). Said it was on the news and everything ... told her I musta slept through that day cuz I didn't find out until a couple days ago.

PS, gave you a couple more questions for CA lady on mega thread ... think it was:
-- WHY don't they just print a complete list of mega items, prices, and end dates and publish ... or AT LEAST have at svc desk at store?
-- WHY do different stores have different items on mega sale ... (see Imhzgirlnotu's post about BC pouch potatoes).
(THAT is NOT the way to compete with HEB and KEEP customers happy.)

[going to my cave now, rolling rock in front so I don't go from irritated all the way to mad, thinking about it! ... later!]

I just went to this new Kroger Friday night. It's off of 99, but you definitely cannot see it from Hwy 59! It's further down 99, past hwy 90, but before I10.

They were great about taking all my coupon, everyone was super friendly. They did tell me that they are not suppose to take printables, but they did allow me to use mine. They store was very nice, clean & well stocked on all items. I may just have to start making the drive to that store all the time!

There are 2 kroger marketplaces.... one is 8011 W. Grand Parkway, outside the Waterside Estates subdivision at Grand Parkway and Mason Road in northern Fort Bend County. (taken from chron.com-fortbendcounty.) The other one is on 59/Reading Road in Rosenberg __I dont know if the Rosenberg one is open yet, I havent' been on that side of town.

I live right across 99 from the new store, in Long Meadow Farms. I am SOOOO happy, this store is amazing!!! I have been there 3 times for this mega deal and have had no problems with them taking every coupon I've wanted to use. I think they are trying really hard right now to make their customers happy. Everyone is so friendly. I hope it doesn't change once the store is there for a while. Come Check it out!

Small world! I live in the same neighborhood across from the new store and have had the same great experience each time I have been there. They don't even blink at a pile of coupons!
I read in a Houston business journal that the new market place here at 99 & Mason and the new one at 59 & Reading Rd (not open yet) will be identical stores and are the largest in the state! Crazy that they are so close to one another! The Rosenberg store is supposed to open in December.

That's what I keep hearing now ... for you folks that shop at WAGs, there's one in the same shopping center! I used to shop at it when they had the old rebate program ... they are/were VERY coupon friendly!

I had asked Ruth, at Kroger Division, how many Qs the Rosenberg store was going to d/t ... she said 1-like ... sure hope whoever the manager is changes it to 3 d/t!! Will be real nice to have the option of shopping there instead of having to drive further!!

I had my tour of the new Marketplace on 99 @ Mason and the store is AWESOME!!!!
Not only is it clean, but the employees greeted me as I entered, one offered an ad, another offering me a shopping cart!
The store is HUGE and it was extremely well stocked. Plenty of lanes open for checkout so no waiting in line. I asked cashier if I could do 2 transactions (due to rebates) and she said NO problem. Took all my coupons and even let me use as many catalinas as I wanted!

I encourage everyone to go check the store out. They also have a Little Clinic inside the store that offers better rates then I have seen at Walgreens or CVS for office visits.

I was told the store off 59 will be opening in early December, I am trying to get the exact date on that. ALSO, there is ONE more Marketplace opening in Texas. You DFW peeps might be excited about this. The third store is already being built in Frisco! I am also trying to get the opening date of that store and will keep you informed.
