Cheap/Free Dog Food/Treats

I've recently started couponing and I'd like to help out a family member who has a pet. Can a seasoned couponer point me in the right direction for getting cheap or free dog food or treats.

Watch the coupon insert previews. Every few months they put out coupons for a free can of Mighty Dog food. There have been a lot of Purina Chef Michael's coupons floating around too. B1G1s and $$ off. I think those expire 12/31 if memory serves right. I've yet to see any inserts for free treats though.

Watch the ads and grocery store forums of stores you shop at. That will be the quickest way for you to find hot deals on dog food/treats.

You can also post ISO threads in the trading forums.

I just purchased 44 Qs off Ebay for 1 FREE (up to $2.50) Fresh Pet Select Homestyle. They are single serving (depending on size of your dog) located in the referigated section. I paid $7.98 for them. I'm sure there is someone on here that may have some to trade. The Qs are good until 12/31/09. I use them as "snacks" for my dog.

Do you have a Stop & Shop nearby? They were selling 3-4 lb. bags of Chef Michael's dry food for $4. You can get coupons for $3.50 or $3 from coupon clippers (see list at this site's Home page) so if the deal is still on, you have cheap food.

I found a tear pad of these at my Safeway that was $2 off ANY SIZE of these exp 12/31/09... Fred Meyers had them for 1.49 cats & 1.79 dogs for the least expensive.

If you go to www.petsmart.com (http://www.petsmart.com) right on the first page i think in the middle right you will see $3 off greenies dental chews in large white letters and if you read under that you will see that you can send an email greeting card to up to 4 people (you can use your own email address) and send them a free individual greenies dental chew coupon. My dog loves these and i send them to my co-workers and they print them for me. Love it. Hope your dog likes them. :biggrin:
