I don't have that ad in hard copy yet, but on the meters I am thinking they are part of the Bayer promo spend x$ get the $5RR. I will try to look at my ad bulletins to verify this.

You mean we get another Bayer deal!! There's an upcoming Bayer q in the 10/25 paper...woooohhoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS DEAL. My local senior center was so happy to have the meters awhile back...and talk about a tax deduction..well actually I'm still not sure about that..but saving my receipts just in case.

Could someone explain the Contour/ Breeze/ Bayer deal. I have read about it several times in last year or so, but have no idea what it is or how it works. I am a paralegal and work with senior citizens. I think this is something I could get free that they might use.

Am I the only one excited that there will be a $5/$25 coupon.. (or did I totally misread this and it's not $5 off a $25 purchase)?

Not excited because lately, their $5/25 coupons say AFTER all coupons. No way am I going to actually spend $25 in cold hard cash!!

I am with ya on that. I will not spend that much at Wags. They would make a lot more money from many of us if the credited the $5 off $25 before coupons.....since they get reimbursed for coupon values. This penalization for using coupons is just stupid and one of my pet peeves of Wags.

The monitor will be 14.99. There are coupons coming out in this weekend's paper for a free monitor up to $30 I believe. So instead of you paying 14.99, just hand over the coupon as payment and then you'll get a $5 RR.

WHOA . . . so wait a minute--can we use the Contour Meter Q to make it free, plus $5 RR, PLUS rebate?? Obviously, the rebate is a one-time deal, but for that one time, it's actually a $19.99 MM? Can that be true? I'm waiting for someone to burst my little bubble here . . .

Can that be true? I'm waiting for someone to burst my little bubble here . . .sorry to burst your bubble ~ if your receipt shows you used the $30 coupon to get the meter free, you will get a rejection letter from them. This has happened to a lot of people who submitted for rebate while using the $30 coupon. Some blacked out the coupons used and Bayer rejected it saying receipt is tampered.

a quick question, so are there 2 RR promos from Bayer? one is buy any 2 Bayer products and get $5 RR and the other one is just buy 1 Bayer monitor and get $5 RR????? I think my brain is having systems overload with all info and I'm getting them all mixed up now :hysterical:

Agreed. I was hoping for the 11/1 ad to know whether or not to save my RR this week or to go ahead and blow it. Just not very many rolling opportunities. Can they stop with all the cold meds and laxatives and do some useful RR deals like deodorant and toothpaste again??? If I have to I will roll all my RRs into Chapstick this week.

I am really keeping my fingers crossed that they will have monthly RR deals that are comparable to the ones that we had for October.

I think that there is hope because they really seem to be increasing the number of RR deals since they ended the rebate program.

All mine has is the refreshing mandarin flavor which kinda reminds me of those orange creamsicle things. Not bad, not as good as the shimmer flavors. But I may end up rolling my RRs into Chapstick and Vaseline this week just so I have an extra week of expiration on my RRs. We got spoiled getting all these Oct scans so early and now I'm jonesin for Nov lol.

I wish my wags had any chapstick at all. They sold out of all the free RR stuff in the first day of the sale. And they did not get any new in stock until last week and it was not much. And that was gone quickly and no more was ordered to arrive this previous wednesday. Maybe they will get more of the other things besides the razors since now they aren't going to be giving RR's. And our manager is not nice and won't order stuff for us if it's a free item. Sadly only one wags in 25 miles.

The key to getting the rebate is to request a "rebate receipt." This is a second receipt that they can print out if you ask, which shows only the purchase price and not the coupons used. I've seen several people on this forum mention that they have received the rebate after sending in a rebate receipt.

I am excited about the Bayer deal, but I'm not using all my q's yet. Last time I did that and then four weeks later they were doing the same deal, only it was $9.99 and print a $10 RR!!! Less tax and more rr's- I was so mad I missed out on those! Hoping for that one again...

Can you claim taxes paid? I know it would be tax fraud to claim anything else.

what a deal

for those planning to submit for Bayer MIR, be careful when using your RRs to pay in part or full for the meters because even if they don't see the 14.99 MFR coupon used for the meter BUT you used other coupons for other items which they can assume you used for the meter, they may likely deduct the amount if not totally reject the rebate.

ADD to the fact that they can compare the serial numbers written on the rebate form with the MQ submitted by the store with the SN so that is enough proof a MQ was used to purchase the meter. they have enough time to check it since rebates are paid within 6 to 8 weeks. Just FYI.

Bayer has been notorious for sending rejection letters so its best to follow their terms and read the fine print of the rebate prior to submission.

Q) Sales tax on a glucomenter?
A) The situation could be different in every single cotton pickin' state.

Here in the great state of OH we do not pay tax on glucometers.

I so envy you that do not have to pay tax on the meters, unfortunately here in wonderful KS we have to pay it. Makes me sick to know that I am going to be out almost $30 in tax next week. I don't know what Libby's intention is for use of that coupon. HOWEVER, pumpkin is a squash and squash is a vegetable and the coupon says "Save 50 cents on the purchase of 2 cans of Libby's vegetables".

HOWEVER, I can tell by looking at the barcode on the coupon that it WILL BEEP on the canned pumpkin. So, be prepared for the beep and know that the pictures on the coupon are of green cans and the can of pumpkin is orange and with a beeping coupon it's a good bet that the cashier won't accept the coupon.

My head is about to explode! I am normally just a Rite Aid shopper... Ya'll are bringing me over to the dark side! :wink7:

I have $30 coupons for the Bayer Glucose Meter. If it's $14.99 don't I just buy another $15+ in items and the $30 coupon will scan? (or will the register beep?)

*and I need to remember to ask for a rebate receipt (chanting)*

Nope. The coupon is for UP TO 30.00 bucks off. The cashier will be prompted to enter the amount, and it will only be 14.99. And, your rebate will be rejected if you use the coupon, so save yourself the stamp. Hope that helps.

I beleive the coupon is up to $30 on two meters and the coupon will be entered at $29.98 and you should get one $5 RR on the frist meter and nothing on the second. So both are free, I plan on taking the $5 rr and getting the monthly luberdierm (?) and the Rubitussen and turrning the $5 RR into a $8 RR and a $2.50 RR for the cost of a filler. the deal is,6oz lotion 3 @ $3.97 - 3, $2 mfg coupons & 1 Walgreens $1 coupon comes to $2.37 oop for the lotion. Add The Rubitussem 2 ct to go at $2.49 and a christmas pencil at $0.39 for filler you end up with the two meters, 3 lotion, 1 Robtussen and a pencil for $0.35 and go home with a $8 and a $2.50 rr, Thats a deal thats hard to beat anywhere.

Please remember to tell the cashier that they need to write the serial number of the meter on the coupon so they will get credit for the coupon. The serial number is usually located on the back of the box in a cut out area where the meter is.The UPC code is not the SERIAL NUMBER.I would feel bad if the cashier got in trouble if they don't write the serial number on the coupon.I don't work at WAGS so I don't know if they can get fired for not writing the serial number on the coupon.Anyone know?

Man I SCOURED the walgreens today.....but I live in a rural area...I'm sure we don't get everything KWIM.

I don't think WAGs normally carries pumpkin, but they are for the holidays. My store was putting out an endcap today that had pieshells, pumpkin, and some other things that you can make pie with.

So check in a day or two, your store might have it, too! HTH.

THis is a great scenario but you don't need a filler and you're math is a bit off :wink7:
3 Lubriderm*3.99=11.97-$6(3 $2/1) -$3 ($1/1 Wags q)=2.97

You are correct, In my math I fillped the the 7 and the 9 and figured with a cost of $3.79 insted of $3.97, Its hell when you get old. I guess thats why they call you supergirl. Thanks:rolleyes24:

Sorry, I posted this on the wrong week!

Question about a transaction my mom did the other day. She bought 2 of the Kashi cereals, along with a lot of other things and had the $3 vocalpoint coupons but the cashier said she couldn't take them (register beeped) because it was more than the cereal. Is this right?? I thought for sure she should've been able to accept them. I have my $3 q's still and want to go get the cereal tomorrow for free but now I'm not sure.

Just wanting to make sure there is no conflict with rolling the Bayer into J&J RRs since both owned by Johnson & Johnson? (At least I am pretty sure that J&J owns Bayer). Does anyone know if there has ever been a problem with something like this- where although the RRs print out with different company names- is there ever a conflict when trying to roll one company (Bayer) into another company owned by the other (J&J)? Wow I am dizzy now :giggle2:

just thought you would like to know.

My experience is that this is true for typical manu coupons (inserts, IPs, etc). But not for Register Rewards....they will not reduce the value of a register reward to match your purchase(s). There is a reason the RR is always rounded up by a penny to the full dollar....since most products are x.99 and most RRs are x.00, it makes you buy more stuff.

Most of the Walgreens in my area won't adjust the price of the item up to the price of the coupon! The managers all insist that they aren't allowed to do this. And one store employee practically accused me of fraud when I asked if he could do this. (This same employee has fits when I use IVC's and they come off on multiple items. He can't figure how to make them only come off one item.)

True they will not round RRs but in my area they will take them if you are willing to lose the remainder of the RR. I can't bring myself to lose part of a RR so I find a filler that will make up the difference like a candy bar, I have a storage bag full of candy bars we use for a snack in the kids lunches, save me from buying little debbies. This letter has worked for me at a Walgreens with a .99 item and a $1 coupon.

I found a great deal this morning on the Noxzema Spa razors (3 count) that are $1.99 each!!

I picked up 3 and noticed the ones in the back had $2.00 peelie coupons on them!!! I could only find 2 with the coupons so..... I got 3 for $1.97 :BigHand:

If your store has the peelie coupons, I dont know what will happen if you only buy one since the coupon is $0.01 over the cost of the razors.

I don't know any diabetics, does anyone know where to donate these monitors to?Many / most hospitals have a:

Diabetes Department

+

Give them a call, let them know that you have unopened and unexpired glucometers that you would like to donate (if they could use them).

• Ask what brands / models they can use
• Inform them what brands / models want to donate

You do know that the minute you dispose of them (because you could not find someone) someone will show up asking for them.

+

The OneTouch brand of glucometers have expiration dates on the boxes that relate to the control solution found inside the box.

Many styles in the OneTouch brand are powered by what I call a 'button battery' (the size of a nickel sized button).

CR2032 (3 volt)

Mouseclick on me to see an image of a CR2032 battery (http://www.ecvv.com/product/1204307.html)

+

Which just so happens to power things like a Chevrolet Malibu's keychain remote.

Q) Now, isn't that special?!

The key to getting the rebate is to request a "rebate receipt." This is a second receipt that they can print out if you ask, which shows only the purchase price and not the coupons used. I've seen several people on this forum mention that they have received the rebate after sending in a rebate receipt.

Any idea if they can print one out AFTER the fact? Got 3 meters and DOH! forgot all 3 times to ask for a rebate receipt (need to chant this one in my sleep!). Going to go back tomorrow and find out. (I know YEARS ago hey would hand write a rebate receipt)....

I forgot that I was going to say that my SIL had no problem in Indianapolis (GO COLTS). I told the AM that and she said that it maybe a regional thing. The booklet I found looks just like a November IVC booklet and was next to the ads last week, I grabbed it thinking that was what it was till I noticed it didn't have the Almay coupon. It says Healthy Savings over $160 in savings inside! on the front. Coupons good 11/1-11/28

I got that book but it has no Kleenex Q in it.

I found this book (with the Kleenex q's) at one of my local Wags. It's in the same place as the usual November IVC books, it just looks different. It says Walgreens Healthy Savings and has a picture of a mom with her two kids on it. It also says over $160 in savings inside.

Good luck!

I just got back from my Walgreen in Ottumwa Iowa to do the meter deal. The BA and one of the AM told me before I walked all the way back to the Pharmacy to get them said that the RR is not printing and that I will have to send in a form to get my RR and that they could take about 6 weeks.

Has anyone else had this happen today and what do you think I should do. I would like some ideas. I only have the 1 store in town and my next store is a little over a hour away.:shrug7::sad:About one month ago, Walgreens had a RR offer for an Oral B toothbrush.

FARR (Free After Register Reward).

The very first day of the sale the RR did not print.

Rats!

The manager gave me a one page form to mail in to get my precious RR.

Riiiiight!

Instead, what I did was wait until later in that sale week for the RR snafu to clear itself up.

It did clear itself up.

I then boogied back to the store with my receipt, rebate form, and Oral B toothbrush.

When the store manager said the RR is now working, I replied:

"Great, generate the RR for me now and I will gladly give back to you the rebate form."

I was not in the mood to do a mail-in rebate and have to wait for the RR (or rebate check).

Do not take 'No' for an answer.

Do the glucose meters come with test strips?Oui!

+

• The Breeze2 contains a disc that holds ten tests.

• The Contour contains a vial the size of a 35mm camera film container that hold ten test strips.

+

Most / all glucomemeter boxes will mention what is inside the box (usually on the side of the box).

I have found only specially marked OneTouch brand glucometers contain test strips.

Most OneTouch boxes do not contain test strips.

Test strips are the money maker (the cash cow) for the glucometer companies!

They more or less give the glucometer away for free because you have to use THEIR brand of test strips.

No ands, ifs, of buts.

One store has the Healthy Savings but there are not any Kleenex q's in it-but this one says on the front over $30 in savings inside, these are good to 12.31. I only found these in 1 store (I have 5 I go to) and they had them out with the Nov IVC book-which is no where to be found, both stores I went to yesterday did not have them out and I wonder if they pulled them due to the Almay deal. Luckily I kept the IVC book I got last week.

rebate reciepts can only be printed during the sale. The only way to get one now is to do a return, rebuy.......and with the return you will need to return the RR you got for the purchase of the Meter when you purchased it.

I ran this deal 2 times today. The Glade coupon in the Walgreens Nov book does not scan right. But the manager read it and said it should. So he price adjusted it. So I got 4 for .48 cents.

Don't forget to send in for your SC Johnson Rebate (buy 3 items get $5 back), if you haven't already met your 3 rebate per household limit. The rebate info can be found in the "gimme my money back forum" (sorry - I am helpless at trying to add links....).

Tried at 3 different WAGS last night... everyone said no to rebate receipts. One said they did away with them when they started the Catalinas (not sure he understood what I was talking about)

Has anyone had any luck getting a "rebate receipt" ?

Walgreens did away with Rebate receipts when they stopped their Rebate book, my fiance works in the Pharmacy and has been asked at least 10 times this week if he is able to do this with people buying meters. The manager has told him NO, there is no possiable way of printing a rebate receipt or otherwise known as a gift receipt. Only possiable way to get a receipt without the coupon on it is to have them get a manager, have them ring it out completely without the coupon, they would put 14.99 and hit cash ( like you were paying cash) give you the receipt and then the manger has to Void the transaction out of the register or the cashier will be short in their drawer. We have very coupon friendly Wags, and there is no way they'd do this normally. Especially because they know what most of us are up to, trying to do the rebate and use the coupon. Maybe you can convince your but highly unlikely. Hope this info helps :)

Londonderry, Derry and Hooksett NH are completely wiped of meters for anyone needing a heads up. We went looking Sunday and everyone was cleared out. Luckily we got two because Jake has left two coupons with his manager who rang us out when she opened Sunday morning, just put our meters and RR in a bag in the office for him. We brought her coffee as payment :) We only bought two because I didn't want to clear the shelfs, and right now I can use two new meters for myself :)

to get a rebate reciept.....
before the item is rang the cashier needs to hit the "special reciept" button, then what ever number it is one is gift, the other is rebate ( or something like that can't remember the exact wording )

There are two books. I am in the DFW area and was lucky to snag both of them. There is a white book with a mom and two kiddos on it called Healthy Savings. That is the one that has the Kleenex coupon in it. The other coupon book is the November Coupon Book and it is green with a red ornament on it. This one must have the Almay coupon in it. Not to be difficult or troublesome, but may I ask why the coupon code is deleted? After all, it is in a public booklet that should be available to anyone who wants it. OooOooo... during my many WAGS shopping trips Friday night, I saw a Bayer Combo pack. This was a Bayer Contour Blood Glucose Meter with a FREE Bayer A1C Now SelfCheck At Home A1C System. Still kicking myself for not remembering the location (think it was the one with the meanies!) lol It was $79.99. I'm wondering if it will be on sale for $14.99? Wishful thinking I'm sure. Thinking of driving back down tomorrow just to find out! (coupons or no coupons)....

I did this deal to get the A1C System, it was $14.99, however, no RR. Which was totally ok since I got it free and like I said just did 1 to get the A1C.

Alright - I realize I'm not the first to respond to this but thought I also might have something useful to add. The rebate receipt CAN be printed but after their rebate program ended they removed the label on the key which needs to be hit before scanning. I can't swear it was removed on ALL the stores, however I've been to dozens in a 3 state area in the midwest and not one was labeled but it still worked in all of them I happened to try.

The VAST majority of Wags register keyboards are identical, I did find that the ONE keyboard in the pharmacy that I looked at was laid out different and I can't give any advice for which key to hit on those style keyboards.

Back to the rest of the registers. When you look at there keyboard you will see a cluster of keys on one side where there are only 3 keys on the bottom row. The middle key on that bottom row of 3 keys is the one they need to hit before scanning the item. As I previously stated in all the stores I've been in over the last couple years I've not seen one marked with the "Gift/Rebate receipt" label since they ended the rebate program. However the key still works and once they hit it it will prompt the clerk to either hit "3" for Rebate receipt or some other number ("2" I think for a gift receipt)

Maybe one out of 10 stores I go to still have any employees that know this so I've learned to just show them which keys to hit. I did have one clerk insist on checking with her manager first before hitting a random unmarked button. I think she was worried it would either give me some unauthorized discount or honestly I think she was so confused that she thought it was going to give me some sort of receipt to mail directly to Wags for a rebate. But thankfully even though the manager was just as unaware of the button he was willing to give it a try and "watch" to see what would happen. Once it printed and they saw it wasn't priced wrong or giving some wags mailing address for a rebate they let me keep it. I explained to them it was a feature available for me to be able to get separate receipts for each item I might have a rebate for without having to split up the transaction into tiny pieces and that it allowed me to keep a "copy" without needing a photocopier.

I am so mad. I was in my local Walgreens last night and I had some good deals going and I tried to buy 4 of the Glade sprays. I had more than enough items and used 2 of the 75 cents off 2 coupons. When the cashier tried the November Booklet coupon for $1 off 2 Glade items it would not work and beeped. The cashier was very nice but also very new and called the AM over. The AM said the November coupon booklet coupons are manufacturer's coupons and can't be combined with my other coupons. I had already let 3 people go in front of me at the cosmetic counter so I would not hold anyone up, well :whistle67:the AM said either buy your items or forget it - we are closing! I was using 2 $5 RR and they both expired yesterday. I said I would just buy enough items to use the RR and come back later. The AM said no! We are closing buy it like it has rung up or nothing! The AM said Walgreen booklet coupons are the same as any other manufacturer's coupons you bring in here and don't forget it! Forgot to add that the AM also said my RRs had a grace period of at least 3 or 4 days. I have always been told they have no grace period. Help:rolleyes24:

Coupon codes could be store specific, customer specific......so even though this particular coupon code isn't.......we won't allow coupon codes to be posted. We don't want people getting in the habit of posting codes because like I said some could be store/person specific.
Hard to make exceptions so no codes allowed.

I was in Walgreens today and got held up in line by a fellow couponer in front of me who was trying to use a RR that expired yesterday. She insisted that she had been told the same about a grace period of a few days. The manager was pretty nice but sounded totally firm about no expired RR. I made my purchase at a second register and never heard how it ended up - but I definitely wouldn't trust any verbal info like this. Maybe a few locations allow it, but I am pretty sure that the FAQ says it's a no in the official policy.

Well this won't come as a big surprise to anyone. After being told I am the "only one" who tries to do the Catalina deals in my Walgreens I encountered at least 3 if not 4 people last night with big folders of coupons and papers shopping in my little Walgreens. I noticed every time they checked out nothing worked and the cashier had to call the AM. Duh! Now I know they aren't always non receivers of stock as they normally try to tell me:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Anyway, I think I am finally at the point where I am going to aggressively seek positive feedback from corporate Walgreens. This frustration is becoming overwhelming.

Yes...on Sat before the sale, my Wags has a full stock of Meters...then Sunday they are all gone....I know I am not the only couponer at my Wags. I went to the next nearest Wags and a woman had emptied the shelf of all 10 meters they had into her cart. It's for these reasons, I support stores that have limits or at least let people place advance special orders.

joshmamabear

After reading how some placed orders of the meters for 100 and got them, I think pre-ordering is also a form of shelf wiping. WHY? since most people are now encouraging this pre-orders all over coupon boards, many have learned to place advance orders 2 weeks to a month before the RR promo dates are active. Because of this trend, some stores get all the stocks leaving ZERO for the rest. Is that fair?

I think those who have zero stocks of RR items advertised for the week should call the attention of WAG with a link to lots of posts on the net where they got their 100 meters rang up separately to get their $500 RRs while most can't even get one meter! Something has to be done about stock distribution in all their branches. I don't have a problem with friendly stores fulfilling pre-orders by the hundreds AS LONG as the warehouse make sure all their branches get their share of stocks for customers in all regions. These ads are printed months in advance and if they know what RR promos there are, they should be prepared for the huge demand.

I wrote to them when I observed this problem at our stores during previous promos and the DM did something about it. Those who see empty shelves first day of the sale might want to write to corp via the website to make them aware they are not getting any of the weekly sale items.

JMHO.
