When you hover over it and see it, go to the view menu, then toolbars, then make sure everything is checked.

OR you can right click on the far left side of the toolbar when you see it and make sure what you need is checked.

Flippercloset, welcome, glad to have ya! When you are on hotcouponworld's homepage, you should see a forum (somewhere near the top) that is called "couponing basics for beginners." If I were you I would spend some time reading through that for the basics. As far as easing your way in, Kroger is probably a good place to start then you can work your way up to the drug stores. I see that you are from Arkansas, but if you want to let us know a more specific area you can post it here. If there is someone in your neck of the woods they can let you know if your Kroger conforms to the following which are pretty standard for most Krogers in our region:

Double coupons every day up to .60 (so if you hand them a .60 coupon it deducts $1.20 from your total, .55= $1.10, etc.)
You can use up to eight identical coupons in one transaction, more than that will not double
Go to www.shortcuts.com (http://www.shortcuts.com) and www.cellfire.com (http://www.cellfire.com) and add your Kroger card number. These sites let you load coupons to your card, so when it is scanned at the store you get extra savings. Also, doublecheck on www.kroger.com (http://www.kroger.com) and make sure that they have the correct mailing address and phone number associated with your card number, as I get frequent coupon mailers from them.

As far as where to get the coupons (listed in red in original post-"OP") most are from the Sunday papers. When you haven't been saving them, you will have to locate them elsewhere. We have a very active trading forum here at HCW, you just can't trade in the store forums. Many traders will accept paypal "in trade" for coupons ("Qs"), so don't feel hesitant just because you don't have paper coupons to trade. Also, learn to keep your eyes open as you wander the aisles. You would be surprised how many are available in the store. Grab one or two, even if the item isn't on sale this week because it may be later. In the OP, you will also notice some listed in gray, these are hyperlinks to printable coupons, click there to print, usually one or two per printer.

What is a good deal is going to vary per person. Since you are beginning without a stockpile, you would probably be willing to pay more for something than I would, but it is still a deal if you can get it cheaper than at Wal-mart and you need it.

For our newbies, a catalina is a coupon that prints at the register that you can use off of anything in your next purchase. Even without any coupons, assuming this works here, you could buy 4 boxes and it would look like this: purchase price 4 X $2.50= $10 minus promotion of $4 when you buy four= $6. Then a catalina would print for $4 off your next purchase. End price of .50/box. If someone in Delta region gets this OYNO let us know!!!

Regarding the Totino's pizza, the $2 WYB 8 catalina appeared in the database, but I don't see anything about it in the catalina thread. Anyone know particulars? I have been holding off because in the past these pizzas have been as cheap as .80 each, but haven't seen that this year. This may be the week to do it if you want them, combining the catalina with the coupons.

I will probably also do a few transactions with the Nature Valley granola bars, since I didn't get as many as I should have a couple of months ago. This looks like another decent time to stockpile these. Be aware that there is a cap of two promotions per transaction of the Nature Valley and post, so don't buy more than eight (of either product, total) in one transaction.

Sure! The original recipe is for bran muffins (using Raisin Bran) but I make it using whatever kind of cereal I have on hand that sounds good at the time, and add blueberries or strawberries or mashed bananas or chocolate chips or dried cranberries or.....well, pretty much whatever you want. :giggle2:


Cereal Muffins

3 cups flake cereal
1 1/4 cups milk
1 egg
1/3 cup oil**
1 1/4 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar

Pour milk over cereal in large bowl, let set for a couple of minutes. Add egg and oil, mix well. Add all dry ingredients, mix just until moistened. (If adding extras, add them now**.) Fill muffin cups just below full, and bake at 350 for about 20 to 25 minutes, until done.

**If I'm adding a mashed banana (goes really well with chocolate chips) then I drop the oil to 1/4 cup and add the banana with the wet ingredients.

These have been my favorite deals too! One more deal that was reported on AFC I think. Kikkoman soy sauce is on sale for $1.49. There are .55 peelies on the bottle. .39 for a bottle of soy sauce is a pretty great price! It also has a very long shelf life - mine have exp dates in 2012. I am glad to read that $4 ONYO is working in our region. I was planning on stocking up on boxes of cereal for our church program and the $4 extra makes the deal even sweeter.

Does anyone have a full listing of what products are included in the cereal/bars deal? Is it all the Fiber One bars? Which Post cereals are included?

Are the Fruit20s the single bottles or the packs? I looked for this deal at my Kroger and the packages weren't on sale. I don't think my Kroger sells them individually.

It is the single bottles. Mine were in the water section.

These are the items that I noticed: NV Nut Clusters, Fiber One Bars, NV Granola Bars, Chex Mix bars are included but don't seem to ring up properly,
Honey bunches of Oats, Raisin Bran, Honey Combs, Fruity & Cocoa Pebbles, and Shredded Wheat.

Only the Honey Bunches of Oats produces the catalina. HTH

I was really fortunate to have signed up for the Psst! Nature Valley Clusters mailing a few weeks ago and I received 10 coupons for $1.60 off one bag of NV Clusters. Did the math on Thursday on the way over to a Kroger-wanted to confirm that these were part of the $4 off your order deal and was so happy to see that they were! Small Money Maker !! And there is a SC coupon for $1/1 too. Plus, I had 2 coupons for .55/1 for the Post cereal from Red Plum ( I think) and I managed to pick up 2 of those. Had to get 1 box of the Nature Valley bars because the store only had 5 bags left on the shelf. I'm hoping to go back tomorrow to use my other 5 coupons for the clusters and a .75/1 Post cereal coupon that printed out for me. This is what I got:

1 Box of NV Bars
5 Bags of NV Clusters
2 Boxes of Post Cereal
=$20
(5) $1.60/1 NV clusters
(2) .55/1 Post Cereal -doubled
(1) Shortcuts $1/1 NV clusters

I purchased the HBO today at Kroger and my catalina printed!

Awesome! Was it the regular HBO?? This is what I'm thinking of doing:

4 NV Clusters
4 boxes of HBO

Use 4 $1.60/1 Qs

Get $8 discounted at register
-$6.40 in Qs
=$5.60 and get $3 Catalina

This one rolls-so...
2nd transaction would be:

2 Bags of NV Clusters
1 NV Bars
1 Box of Post Cereal
Use (1) $1.60/1 and $1/1 Q (not sure if it is from RP insert?)
(1) .40/1 Q -doubled

Nobody has mentioned the discrepancy in my first post about the cereal, even though a couple of you have mentioned the $3 catalina in your scenarios. Apparently it was listed wrong in the other thread and it is producing $2 WYB 3 HBO cereals or $3 WYB four. Still a good deal, but enough off that I spent forever trying to figure out what I did wrong.

I was disappointed because my store doesn't carry the Nature Valley clusters and I don't think any of them have the pecan HBO- so much for those good coupons! Oh well, I think Kroger has been good to me and I shouldn't be so sad.

Hubby is out of work and we've got less than $5 left in the bank, so I have to be careful of even the sales tax (which THANKFULLY has dropped on food tax within the past few months - it used to be almost 10% even on food!) but we're out of nuts for snacking and we're about out of cereal too so this would be a good expense for us.

I feel your pain! My husband is in sales and with the economy the way it is things are just really slow for him right now.

I think I'm ready to move back to Texas where we didn't have to worry about state tax!

Thanks for the info! Grape Nuts are always in a small box I think, because they're such a compact cereal. Hubby and I both love them, even though it takes about an hour to eat one bowl. :giggle2: *crunch crunch crunch*

Re: the soft coupons, I had an older $1/1 on both SC and cellfire that haven't expired yet, then I went in last night and added a new one at each site, so four total. :smile:

Assuming that Grape Nuts are included at my store as well (which they should be, these things are usually chain-wide) I should be able to get four boxes of cereal, four bags of nut clusters, six king sized Reese's (to use up the rest of my coupons) and maybe a loaf of bread too. :biggrin:

I got my ad in the mail yesterday advertising the mega deal. I went in today to grab some carrots and the signs were all up everywhere - there is a TON of stuff included in this one(like over 100 items)! I'm so excited :)
