The sales associate at my store yesterday said that they were told that they had to accept RR before they took MFR q's. I said that I would prefer she take the MFR q's first and then my RR. She did and then was surprised that it worked. Of course it worked.
Thoughts?

not official policy that I have seen......could be a district/regional policy, but no information from corp. on it that I have seen

Sometimes when you scan the RR first, you don't need to have the exact "item count" right. Meaning, the RR won't attach to an item, so you can still use a manufacturer's coupon with each item. The times it's happened to me are few and far between but it does happen occasionally. It certainly doesn't hurt to hand it first, but that means you have to know which ones you'll be using. And I always go on the fly so it doesn't work too well for me.

That's funny...cause a couple times recently I've handed all my q's together including my RR's and when they've scanned them b/f finishing the mfq's...it beeps. I had it happen the other day with the Halls...I told her to void the RR and scan the mfq first then the RR and then it went thru fine...hmmmmm....wacky wags!

I believe it must be a store or regional thing because non of my Wags do this. I even hand them everything at once and they always scan the MQ's first. There are times when I have to wing it so I keep my rr's in my bag until I see the total and know how much I need to dig out.
I'd say best thing for you to do is keep your RR's out of sight if you don't want to give them first (which most people need to wait and see their total before figuring out which RR's to use).

this can work to your advantage. By doing the mq last it will suck up tax where the RR would not.
Regardless, stupid policy. I don't always calculate my totals down the the penny knowing what the end balance would be. I just pay what the total is after coupons & hopefully I have enough in RR that I don't have to use my real money.

The last couple times I've shopped, the register has beeped and not taken the RR when scanned last. The girl voided the transaction and redid it by scanning the RR's first, then the mfg Q and it worked fine. I had the same number items as Q's. I don't see how doing it this way would ever work to our disadvantage, so I'll do whatever makes the register happy :)

I agree with irish, I think it's a made up rule just for that store.
I have heard the rule before. Next time in, I "forgot" to give them and the cashier "tried it".
I guess I am a rebellious child at heart.
Tell me not to do something and I will do it.
Store Policy wise, not fraud wise.

ok, so to remind us all....
WHAT ORDER is the usual best order to hand over Q"S......
I thought it was Man then RR then Wags....but now I am thinking about RR first!

Yep, yours is my preference also. Use those mfg qs first, cuz the rrs are much less restrictive and specific and can be used elsewhere.
