i think the 50 cent broth coupons are for the cartons... there is a 40 cents off of 3 though..

the 50˘/2 is for the cartons

So it would be
$10.80 - 18 Broth
- 4.80 - 6 40˘/3 Q's from 9/27 SS
$6.00 - OOP - $2 cat = $4

so it is still a good deal at 22˘ each. Of coure if it goes by Shelf price it will be a better deal.

GracieCappello
10-20-2009, 03:00:53 AM
According to Campbells website the cream of mushroom soup is a condensed soup so if you have the 0.40/2 coupons from the 10-04 SS you could do this.

Buy 13 soups for $10.15.
Use 6 coupons doubled.

Pay oop: $5.35 and recieve a $2 cat. So $3.35 for 13 and if this goes by shelf price it will be an even better deal.

Am I right??

Most of the coupons I have specifically exclude cream soups. I'm not sure of the wording on this one...

The only coupon I have that I can use on the cream of mushroom is $.25/4.

The calories, fat, and fiber are fine but the sodium is like half your daily amount. I got a bunch of them for free at Kmart but I don't eat them...my mom and brother do. I did taste the Roast Beef and Mashed Potato one...tasted pretty darn good. After watching my fat, fiber, and calories, I don't have enough eyeballs left to watch the sodium. I figure if no one in my family has high blood pressure and no one in my family has ever had or even died from heart disease then I might live through a Hormel Compleat...maybe. :whistle67:

Well, the ad is up on the GE website and it doesn't look like an exciting week!! :giggle2:

If the Campbell cat. is going by shelf price, then the Select Harvest soups will be a pretty good deal - 0.25 a can.

It says, save up to $10 on 8 so are they really $2.50 a can regularly. WOW!! If so you can buy 4 use 2 $0.50/2 select harvest soup coupon and receive a $2 cat. So $1 for 4 cans.

I ordered some coupons for those, and for Breyers, we are finally down to our last quart from a previous sale they had.

Anyway, it is a little bit of a disappointing week - I really was hoping for some free mustard and pickle relish. (Just joking, I HATE mustard!!!)

They are yummy, but like others have said, high in sodium. I get them when I can get a super cheap deal and keep a couple in my desk at work in case I am ever in a super hurry and can't make lunch to take with me or whatnot.

Here's a couple scenarios for the Campbell's OYNO, assuming it goes by shelf price.

(8) cream of mushroom - shelf price $10, sale price $6.40
- $1 MQ (2 x $.25/4 doubled)
= $5.40
- $2 OYNO
= $3.40, or $.43 per can

or

(2) Select Harvest - shelf price $5, sale price $2
(4) cream of mushroom - shelf price $5, sale price $3.20
= 5.20
- $1.10 MQ ($.30/2 Select Harvest and $.25/4 cream, both doubled)
= $4.10
- $2 OYNO
= $2.10 for 2 Select Harvest and 4 cream of mushroom

I guess it depends what you need at the moment... I need to stock up on cream of mush for my crockpot recipes.

I just got my mailed ad (MD) today and guess what.....

in my ad the Campbell's Select is listed as 10/$10 save up to $15 on 10
the Soup at Hand and Red & White are also listed as 10/$10 save up to $8.90

SO......

if this goes by shelf:

4 at $10 - $6 = $4 - $2 (.50/2 doubled x 2) = $2 - $2 CAT = FREE

if this goes by sale:

10 for $25 - $15 = $10 - $5 (.50/2 doubled x 5) = $5 - $2 CAT = $3 for 10 or .30 each

I picked up some items tonight and looked at the Select Harvest.

Only the Select Harvest LIGHT (about 5 types) are shelf price $2.50... and they didn't seem to have any sale tags on them yet.
the rest of the Select Harvests are shelf price $2.09 - and they did have the sale tags up already.

So some scenarios may need to be adjusted depending on what the sale actually is.

Hope your right!!

They will give you the new prices at midnight, but sometimes the computer hasn't had everything updated, and they will have to adjust things for you. But if your going to do a cat deal I would wait until about 0300 just to be sure all computer systems have updated, and the printing of the cat won't be an issue.

I just got back from GE and can confirm that in MD the soups are 10/$10 SALE price....... Lights are $2.50 Shelf and regulars are $1.69 Shelf.

The scenario I posted yesterday on shelf price for Lights works! I got 4 used 2 Q's, a $1 CAT from peanut butter yesterday (btw you can only use one of them per order or the machine beeps & says exceeds coupon), paid $1 for 4 & got $2 CAT!

If you don't like Lights the regulars would be:

6 at $10.14 - $4.14 = $6 - $3 (.50/2 doubled x 3) = $3 - $2 CAT = $1 for 6 which is .17 a can

EDIT This is wrong--I checked my receipt and there were only 9 cans!!!! Eck! Sorry about the mistake!
I tried to do shelf for Swanson broth which is $1.09/can for 10 cans is $10.90 shelf price.
$6 sale- 10 cans
-$2.40 (3 $.40/3 MQ 9/27 SS)
=$3.60
I did not get the $2 cat, but I did get *3 $1 cats* for buying the Swanson broth which is a monthly cat deal. So it was still a good deal and "cost" me $.60 for ten cans, so $.06 a can.

So if it is sale for the Swanson Broth
$10.80 - 18 Broth
- 4.80 (6 40˘/3 MQ 9/27 SS)
$6.00 - OOP - $2 cat-6 $1 cats = $2 MM

Yeah, that would be great if the lightly sauced veggies were also on sale for $1. I bought a bunch of these Qs, and probably can still use them if that were the case (though I think they expire soon?)

I wanted to double check my receipt and make sure I REALLY bought 10 Swanson broths, and I am only counting 9.....so what I said earlier is WRONG! It probably is by shelf. I was pretty sure I had ten, I am thinking the cashier might have not scanned one of the cans. I will change my earlier post! Sorry if this caused anyone a problem!

So it is actually a $1.40 MM on 10
$6.00-10 cans
-$2.40 (3-$.40/3 MQ)
-$2 cat
-$3 cats(3-$1 cats
=$1.40 MM

I know the creams are going by shelf as is the select harvest. I am on my way back to GE, I will try 4 select harvest light and 8 cream of chicken and see if I get multiple cats.

Has anyone checked to see if you get more than one cat per transaction.

I got 15 swanson broth and 2 cream soups and got back: 5 ($1) cats for Swanson and one ($2) cat for the $10 deal. Nice to see the double dip is in effect for this deal. Now I just have to wait for the rest of my swanson coupons to arrive!

Based on what I got then yes. I was afraid to go by self price when I did it but if it works for someone then I will get fewer when my q's arrive. It is $1 back for every 3 broth cans and $2 back for the $10 purchase.

Also want to report that if you buy 4 of the campbells microwave bowls you will get a cat coupon for $2 off any 4 campbells microwave bowls. (also in picture are select harvest and chunky microwave bowls.) I do not know if the cat coupon would print with less as I bought 4. I had the same coupon for awhile back that I used towards the $10 deal.

Oooh! I need to roust through the binder and get my Campbell's and Swanson coupons in order! I didn't even think to look yet because I'm not shopping again until Sunday when the next $5/$50 coupon starts. Now I must go to old trusty and gather my friends up and plan my scenario out! I also need other stuff for my soon to be six year olds birthday party, so these will help out so much!
So glad my insomnia is still in effect, or I wouldn't have thought about the soups and broth!

I recently received not one but two $5.00 off of $50.00+ Giant Eagle coupons.

The two coupons arrive in the mail on an oversized postcard, which promotes their $4.00 and $10.00 prescriptions and free antibiotics.

These postcard mailings are target marketed via zipcode.

Each coupon is about 3" x 2˝" in size and has a stated valid date range (two different ranges).

Birds Eye's bagged veggies and their Steamfresh variety are $1, free after Q, but the lightly sauced veggies (like corn and butter) are 5/$11. Even at $1.20 after Q I do not think they are worth it. I can butter my own corn! :wink7:

I believe they are truely on sale for $1.25 each, so if you got them for a dollar you got lucky. As for why the cat didn't print out for your most recent purchase, it could be because:
1. The shelf price for one of the soups was less than 2.50. I've heard that some stores have the shelf price at 2.09. If that was the case, after purchasing 4 your total would not be over 10.
2. If you did the transaction shortly after midnight. I've read that many people have problems with cats printing at this time. Apparently the catalina machine reboots/runs some sort of internal process around midnight and while it is doing that it doesn't print cats. I've heard of people waiting around and sure enough 10 minutes later it prints there cat.

Hope that helped!

I used four of the 40˘ / 3 coupons.

I received:

• Four of the $1.00 off OYNO Catalina coupons
• One of the $2.00 off OYNO Catalina coupons

$7.20 = $0.60 x 12 Swanson broth
$3.20 = 40˘ / 2, doubled x four coupons
===============================
$4.00

$4.00
$6.00 = in OYNO Catalina coupons
===============================
$2.00 = money maker (more Dr Pepper pour moi)

I do not use chicken broth.

This most excellent deal allows me to donate it to the local food pantry.

Try the recipe on the back of the Pumkin Spice mix. It is sooooo good! And so easy!!!

I couldn't find Pumpkin in my store! I can get another cake pan with the coupons I got today too...well the Wilton cake pan I got a couple days ago sure was a hit...I found my cat sleeping in it! :sick77:That's what I get for leaving it on the kitchen chair...Who wants some GingerButt Cookies? :giggle2:

Was doing back to back (6) Swanson Chicken Broth and (4) Cream Soups, but had other items also with the first order. When cashier went to ring up my second order, she told me she would not be able to take off any coupons (if they were the same that I used on the first order) if I was using the same GE Advantage card-only allowed to double (2) like coupons a day on each AC. I told her to forget it then and I left. She has been at GE forever and she has always been nasty and very over observant on coupons. I should have gone to the sco, but wanted to use up a $3 onyo and I didn'
t feel like waiting for a cashier to "assist" me with redeeming it.
Anyone else have this happen to them?

At my store it's 4 like coupons per day per person. They do watch and they will say something to people at my store that try to use more than 4. I've never had it happen because I've never tried but I've seen other people be told that.

Wow, This has never happened to me. There would be no way for me to do the Heinz deal last week if they did that (10 Ketchup). And I purchased 11 Breyers yesterday and used 11 of the same Qs. Hmmm. Did you go to cs and get a copy of their coupon policy? I would!

Anyone in Pittsburgh find the Pumpkin Spice cookie mix? GE Waterworks only had gingerbread, and I couldn't find either pumpkin or gingerbread at the Market District Shadyside store.

The Waterfront in Homestead had it as of about two days ago - there were about two cases of Pumkin and about 3 cases of GB in the lobby to the left right before you walk in the store area. I think the ATM is to the left of them.

I'd really question what they say about the limit of coupons you can use per tran let alone per day. I've had problems in the past with employees giving me wrong info just so they could "shoo me on my way". I've called corporate customer service who in turn calls the store and I find out that the employees were just outright WRONG. You'll get some pretty outrageously wrong info from them.

My Giant Eagle told me that I was only able to use one like coupon per day (ie: they would double the first Barilla pasta coupon, but wouldn't double the other 4 I had)

I called corporate to ask them about it, and got a snippy call from the manager of my GE about how this has been the corporate policy forever and that she had the memo there that said they couldn't double any more.

Fast forward to two weeks later and corporate called me, apologized and said that they had explained to management that they were wrong. She did say that some GE's are privately owned and can pretty much do what they want but mine was just following a really old memo.

A phone call to corporate couldn't harm anything.

Quick report, slow week for me at GE and did not order coupons for anything. I was just there today for basics and wanted to share some quick math for anybody in my same boat (no coupons ordered).

The Swanson deal ended up like this:
Buy 12 at 60 cents a piece to equal $7.20
Receive one $2 Cat and 4 $1 cats to equal $6
Total oop is $1.20 or 10 cents a piece

Too late for me to order coupons, no mm for me but 10 cents is a great deals even w/o coupons.

I forgot to post that when I posted the rebate. I thought people who had already gotten some deals from the sale might be able to use their receipts to get it. I didn't buy anything this week that qualified.

At one of the stores, there was a small cardboard display case with the Stove Top - which had a tearpad of buy 4, get 1 free.

So this week with 4/$5, I was able to get 4+1 for $5. (It was 1 per customer per transaction) I was completely out of Stove Top so this was a good deal. Hoping for coupons soon though.

If you do this deal, there is also a q in the new issue of All You for Butterball turkey. Buy 5 6 oz. Stove Top Stuffing or 12 oz. Heinz Gravy & save $2 on a Butterball turkey. Might be good to hold the B4G1F coupon till all the pre-Thanksgiving sales begin, since all those things plus turkey will go on sale again.

5 cream of chicken @ $1.25 shelf price ($6.25) / $4 sale
4 cream of mushroom @ $1.15 shelf price (4.60) / $3.20 sale
= $7.20 - $2 cat = $5.20
(4) $0.40/2 = $3.20
= $0.35 can

BTW - Kids Cuisine is on sale 5/$10 and there's $1/2 coupons out there = $1.50ea.

A few weeks ago I printed $1.00/2 Campbells Cream Soup- I have 6

I also have 2 .40/3 Swanson broth-

my plan is:

12 Cream of chicken (1.25) $15 shelf price, $9.60 sale price
6 Swanson broth (1.09) $6.54 shelf price, $3.60 sale price

minus 6 $1 Q's and 2- .80 Swanson Q's= $5.60 and get back $6 in cats!

What is the max anyone had done on the swasons deal at one time?

I have no (ok I have 3) coupons but want to get as many as I can. I also need to try to get 30 of the cookie mixes, and 30 warm delights plus pans.

Should I just do
12 broth and 4 cookies at a time?

BUT I also have 4 $8 cats to use. UGH! Why do I wait till the last min. every week?

FunnyFace
10-28-2009, 11:18:40 PM
I haven't done the Swanson yet either. If you need to use your cats you can absolutely do more than 4 cookies at a time. I did 8 cookies and 12 Delights including the pans without a hitch.

Went to the Waterfront GE after work this evening and I was surprised that there wasn't even much of a back-up on the Homestead Bridge; found the pumpkin spice cookie mix right where you said it was! Bought four packages plus four warm delights, got one more cake pan and one more cookie sheet, plus 2 $1.00 cats! Meanwhile, I sent my husband to get 12 more cans of Swanson Broth, and he couldn't believe that he got $6 back in cats...he thought they made a mistake!

Thanks so much for your reply, Jen, and also for all the helpful information you provide in your posts. :thanks7:

Well I had marathon shopping day, 7 Fields, Cranberry, Good Wexford, Crappy wexford, Camp Horn (hahahaha read my I feel bad thread) back to 7 fields then over to Gibsonia. I have who knows how may $2 cats and $1 swason cats then the $1 cat for 2 Warm Delights on top of it all. Not to mention the ones they will owe me from the camp Horn fiasco!

7 fields had a few Ginger bread cookies left but no pans, wexford had a little of both but very few pans. Had I known the Warm delights were giving a cat I would have clipped all of my coupons for those. Oh well LAL.

Stacey,
I can't remember if you are in my area or not. I always remember that kelkilgel is, but get confused if anyone else is in Dover area or if it's Canton.
If you are in Dover, they just got another shipment of the Pumpkin Spice and Gingerbread. They were totally out on Monday, but last night had boxes in the middle of a main aisle.
