CVS - Where Are Clearance Items Located In Store?

Sorry if the answer is in another thread but I could not find it.

Where are the clearance items located?

1. Normal shelf space with clearance tag
2. End caps
3. Clearance section in store
4. somehwere else

if #3, are these typically located in a specific place or random

#2. In my store, the clearance items are on an end cap-- the side near the wall instead of the main walkway.

It depends on the store and how it's set up. At 2 of mine, they have an endcap (sometimes 2) located on the right side of the store near the toothpaste aisle. It's dedicated to clearance items. When they clearance out seasonal stuff (eg Christmas, summer items) they usually leave that in the seasonal section up front and just mark that it's now clearanced. I have also seen clearance stickers in the aisles, but once it gets past 50% off it gets moved to the dedicated clearance section.

Then you have some stores that don't even have clearance sections :(

It depends on the store. At a few stores I find clearance stuff hidden in a back corner, while at other stores there is a table set up right when you walk in. So you just have to learn the store and know where to look at each store. If you don't see anything take a walk around the outter most edge of the entire store and I'm sure you'll run into the clearance area.

Sometimes it is still on the shelf too.

Yep...depends on the store, and even on how they want to set up their clearance items at the time. One store keeps everything in it's place to clearance it (and usually doesn't even mark it as clearanced), but sometimes they throw it back next to the pharmacy, sometimes they put it on a table at the front. It's like an Easter egg hunt, only blind (that's if they don't mark it as clearance).

A majority of clearance I find is either on the normal shelf with a yellow sticker or located on a shelf or two in the seasonal aisle. If its something they desparately want to get rid of, they put a cart or table in front of the register. I find lots of seasonal items are put in the front, esp when the go 75-90% off.
