I tried twice today to use the Glade, buy a holder get the refill free Blinkie and it would not work.

The first time I was told "you used a coupon on the holder, so you cant use a coupon for the refill also"

The second time I was told "we dont accept these, we wont get paid for them"

Both times the coupon beeped "item not on file"

Any ideas?

Same thing happened to me with the Halls Refresh .50/1 tearpad coupons. I read somewhere that it is because these coupons start with a '9'. Apparently, coupons that start with a '9' beep at drugstores like Wags, RA etc. Did your blinkie start with a '9'? In my case, they verified that I bought the right Halls product and put the coupon through manually. HTH!

I have to laugh at this b/c Walgreens has blinkie machines (at least at the stores in my area)

Yep, I try to avoid coupons that start with a 9 at the drug stores, WM & WinnDixie b/c of beeping. Somehow the register isn't programmed to read them. I dont see what the deal is b/c one of my local mom/pop stores the register takes 9's, no beeps, but the cashier has to hit a button after the q is scanned (guess to verify value?)

our stores take blinkies since they have blinkie machines. They have the $1/1 Kelloggs blinkies on froot loops and apple jacks. These are on sale for 1.75 so they were .75 after the blinkies. Coupons scanned as expected.

This happened to me just this afternoon with this coupon. The pad of coupons were attatched to display board right at the Refreshers. :shrug7: The beauty advisor knew the display was there and just manually put in 50¢ manufacturer coupon value. :giggle2:
The blinkie Glade coupon beeped asking her for the value of the item -- which this week is $2.50 so that is what she entered and it went right through.:BigHand:

I had no problems using 12 of the blinkies today. Beeped asked how much, but that was it.

I used three Glade blinkies with no problem today. Have no clue what number they started with. My mom said that she got them at Kmart if that helps.

It worked out for the better... I used the blinkies at Target tonight with no problem.. for a HUGE Glade money maker... so sorry Wags.. your ignorance towards your own policy cost you my money.

I went to Walgreens today and used a coupon for the Glade candle tin ($1.50, from inside that tin) & used a coupon for the free refill blinkie. It beeped and the cashier said that coupon exceeded the amount. I mentioned the 'fill in the price' box on the back and she pushed it through at $2.50. They were nice, gave me no problems today.

I've been using these coupons for months (not blinkies, from magazines) and they ALWAYS beep. These are free coupons so they should beep and ask for a price. There are a very few stores that they might not beep at but it is to be expected.

They did NOT beep because a price was needed. They beeped "item not on file"

My Glade coupon did not beep, mine starts with a 5. My Froot Loop coupon starts with a 9 and it beeped as did the Hall's Refresh. Yep, that was a fun transaction. :giggle2:

My Glade blinkie came from K Mart and starts with a 5 and they have only beeped for the price input. Once price was entered, smooth sailing.

Well I went through the line at one register, and was told by the cashier there was no way they could take them, yet behind me 2 feet away at the other register the manager was happily accepting them for my sister. Go figure.
The same cashier, same transaction also yelled at me for "stealing the coupons out of the tins", so I showed her that I had a stack of my own in my coupon envelope and told her that I didn't need to steal them. LOL, she was really mad when I opened the second tin in front of her and 2 coupons fell out of it :giggle2:
Just goes to show you that it's not so much the coupon all the time. But as far as that goes I've had plenty of cashiers plenty of times smash up my stuff and treat me like dirt before I started using coupons, and I was paying full price for this stuff lol. I think it is more of a people thing than a coupon thing, just now they have (in their minds anyway) a reason and excuse for it. And then there are times when the cashier goes above and beyond to be nice to me too. The world is full of people, some will love me, some will hate me, at the end of the day I go home and hold my DS and DD, and know that they are the only judges of me I care to impress anyway :)

Yeah if they start with a 9 they'll beep and say "not on file" for some reason Wags registers don't like "9" coupons. However...they still need to take it...it's a valid coupon....just b/c their register doesn't "like it" means diddly...show them the .50/1 Halls q that's on the tearpad hanging right in their isle for proof if they need it. Silly cashiers!!

How can wags say they don't take it when they have them in their stores?? That is soooo silly! Next time walk the friendly cashier over to a blinky machine and educate him/her.
