Long story short, I purchased 2 of the regular Gillette Fusion Razors that didnt qualify for the RR. :hectic1: I did not realize this until after I got home. I used the 4.00 Q for each transaction but would like to exchange these and get the Fusion MVP so I can get my RR.

I have exchanged items at Walgreens in the past and NOT gotten credit for my coupon. These are big money coupons and I dont want to lose them. Aren't they supposed to refund me my oop and the amount of my coupon?? :shrug7:

Any suggestions to be sure I dont lose my credit for my coupon???
Thank you!!!:thanks7:

They should refund the total purchase price, regardless if you used a Q or not, so the full price of $8.99+ tax. Then, just use the cash to buy 2 of the MVP razors, and get your RR.

I just returned 5 Febreze candles to Ralph's because they smelled horrible(pet odor eliminater.) I had my receipt, which showed I used a $2 coupon on each candle. Since, the store can't give me back my Qs, they have to refund me the full price of each candle.

YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary).

+

I would say the clock has ticked.

+

Two situations …

#1) You act right at the moment of the transaction.

#2) You act hours or day(s) after the transaction.

+

With the help of the store manager, situation #1 has the best outcome.

+

Permittez-moi to go into a recent (Tuesday, 10/13/2009) personal experience at Walgreens involving a RR item.

• Robitussin DM To Go, 2 pack, $2.49.

RR for $2.50 did not print.

Q) Say what???

So we got hold of the store manager (he has the authority to make miracles).

+

He could have:

#1) Canceled the whole transaction, which would have allowed him to return the manufacturer’s coupon.

#2) Refunded the troublesome item which would force him to keep the manufacturer’s coupon and just refund the price minus the dollar amount of the coupon ($1.00 off).

+

My store manager went for the refund and re-ring.

Re-ring generated the precious $2.50 RR.

+

So, the longer the problem 'cooks' the less the chance of a favorable outcome for the customer.

Still, an understanding manager might side with the customer if they have the receipt and the unopened product.

+

Bonne chance (Good luck!)

Thanks for the responses!! I'm heading to Walgreens in the morning, hopefully if the manager realizes I am only wanting to exchange and not just return the items (therefore not trying to work the system) maybe then he will be flexible. Wish me luck! Guess all I can do is try.

I am fairly new to couponing. This has defintily been a learning experieince. I will keep better track of my RRs as soon as I check out from now on. This just happened to be maybe my 2nd or 3rd couponing experience with Wags and I got soo excited to show my hubby my awesome deals, LOL (all thanks to everyone here at HCW of course) :thanks7:

I got thinking after I posted.... what if I wanted to return an item and didnt have the receipt?? ( I have mine, but what if I tell them I don't?) Do they accept returns without receipts? Maybe then I could guarantee getting the full amount back?? If it was a dollar or 2 I wouldnt mind much, just chalk it up to a lesson learned, but 8.00 in coupons is a lot!

Any thoughts??
Thanks so much!:thanks7:

It is Walgreens policy to refund the full amount, unless the order can be canceled and the coupon returned. Like the above poster said, you can only do that in a certain time frame though. Past that, they refund full amount. That is unless you have been deemed a problem customer who does this to make money, which is not the case here, so you should have no trouble.

If they give you a hassle, I would remind them that they are still getting paid the $4 coupon amount from the manufacturer, so to refund you less than the full amount would be making Walgreens come out ahead with your coupon.

I feel your pain, and good luck getting it straightened out. I did the same thing, but figured out my mistake before leaving the store. We got the correct razor (same price), he did a return for the original razor so now the register is showing I have an amount due to me. Then he rang the new one, which brought my balance down to $0 and wala, RR prints!

Walgreens has some great deals going on but that also means lots of RR's to print. I learned myself from my own mistakes to watch that cat machine like a hawk to make sure that everything that is supposed to print does.

I have got to do something drastic so that I do not miss out on any RRs at the checkout.

For now, I plan on having index cards, each one having a number on it, from 1 to 6 (the numbers will be as big as the index card so all can see).

At the checkout I will pull the index card that has the number of RRs that I should be getting at the checkout.

I will put is at the bottom of my stack of to redeem RRs and / or coupons.

+

The time to correct a RR problem is then and there at the checkout, not the next day or shopping trip.

Thank you everyone!!!!!

So, I went to Walgreens and I was armed with everyones advice, rehearsing in my head what I'd have to say so I didnt lose my coupons. I am happy to report that all my worrying was for nothing. In less than 3 minutes, I went into Wags and was able to exchange the razors and get my RR's without question. The coupon never became an issue at all. :BigHand:

As a matter of fact, the manager was so nice and helpful, I feel like I want to praise her to her boss somehow. Is their anywhere in the store or online that is appropriate to do so??

I think I'm gonna steal your idea Terry, thanks for sharing!!

I love HCW!!!!
Thanks again!!:wavehi:
