I think I've been had by FoodTown. I went there for the first time over the weekend and found that they had some great deals on cereal. Unfortunately, I didn't have my coupons with me. I went back in the middle of the week to get some more cereal, this time with some coupons in hand. When I went to check out, I handed the cashier the coupons that I had. Most of them were Internet coupons that I had printed out from some of the sites referenced here in HCW. She said that she would have to check with a manager to see if they accepted them. I told her that was fine, I would wait. She called the manager over and he promptly told me that they didn't accept internet coupons because they wouldn't get re-imbursed for them. What??!!! :confused71: I didn't have time to argue with him and I didn't know their coupon policy on Internet coupons, so I just took my stuff and left.
Does anyone know what FoodTown's policy on accepting internet coupons is? I want to know so next time I can at least go in semi-knowledgable when they tell me "We won't get re-imbursed for them".

I shop at the store on Rollingbrook & Main in Baytown. I have trouble using them every time I go there, but they reluctantly do take them. The even have a sign on their door saying "let your printer save you money" or something to that effect - it's because on their website, they actually have coupons to print out on there! Crazy, I know! I do not know their official policy, but the same scenario that you describe happens to me every time - manager has to inspect them, etc - I guess I've just been lucky!

My mom was having this problem with them, she called I believe and they told her they DO take them! now when she has a problem she tells them "so and so" said it was fine, and they allow it every time! I would definatly call or write!

the foodtown i occasionally shop at in houston (Antoine & Pinemont) will only allow a total of TWO IP coupons at a time, and they won't let me do multiple transactions. that's two total IP coupons, not two of each one!

Dear Ms. XXX,
Thank you for your email. I apologize for the problems you're have at our store with internet coupons. While we have no written policy, I can tell you what our policy is. We accept manufacture's coupons and internet coupons. From the way it sounds, we need to do a better job at training our checkers to recognize and accept legitimate internet coupons. I am sorry for the problem and will contact the store and managers today to counsel each checker on proper coupon acceptance.

I don't know what it is, but my cashiers scrutinize any coupon I ever use at Food Town. I've been told that 3 of a kind is the limit, but unfortunately, I've never used an internet coupon there before. I think I'll print a copy of their web site where it says "Save more when you shop at Food Town - print online coupons." They can't encourage us to print them if they're not going to let us use them.

I went to the Pearland Foodtown today and noticed that they had a sign up saying get your ads at Food Town Houston Grocery Stores (http://foodtownshopper.com) and print internet coupons from the site. I know this store has refused to take IPs before so I did not have any with me. Next time, I will take a photograph of the sign and keep it in my cell phone fore reference and show that to them if they refuse to take the IPs
