I'm still not sure how to interpret this. Excludes means it's not a part of, so I spend $25, ok minimum handled, now I give you my coupons.

I think it could be interpreted either way.

hummm, my ad says nothing about not being able to use coupons. It states: Save $10* when you spend $25 or more on these participating products in a single transaction using your Albertsons Preferred Savings Card between 10/14/09 and 10/20/09. * Coupon will print at register. The of course it lists what is on sale w/ some item pictures. The whole thing doesn't say 1 word about not being able to use coupons on the $25 initially spent.

Not sure this will help, but wanted to put my 2cents in. :) my ad in Upland reads coupon will print at check out. Limit 1 offer per customer. See coupon for exclusions and limitations. See store for details. Minimum purchase requirement excludes manufacturer and store coupons.

*Update I just talked to my store manager and he told me it must be $25.00 after all coupons*:sad:

The "Minimum purchase requirement excludes manufacturer and store coupons" is definitely up for interpretation and is going to be one of those YMMV deals. They have used this wording a few times in the past couple months worth of ads and so far the deals have still worked as long as you met the minimum purchase requirement, $25 in this case. The "play on words" will come in to play if/when your planned out purchase does not yield the expected $10 OYNO catalina (ex. certain qualifiers not being programmed in correctly for the deal). If you think about it, whenever a store has a promo and the "expected" catalina does not print, they always have one reason or another to blame it on YOUR USE of coupons. :rolleyes24:

FWIW, I interpret this deal to mean that it is a $25 minimum purchase, excluding coupons, to be before coupons and store coupons. After all, if they are getting reimbursed by the manufacturer's for each coupon + 8¢, wouldn't that be considered part of your "method of payment."? KWIM? :wink7: :my2cents:

BTW-about the "Minimum purchase requirement excludes manufacturer and store coupons I think you hit it on the nose, Joanne. A friend did the buy 20 items get 5.00 oyno in albies ad 9/30-10/6. She got 20.44 in qualified items, 7 joint juices, Nabisco deal, and a couple other things. She used tons of coupons including 2 10.00/oyno (joint juice & 1 5.00/buy 7 get 5 joint juice. Her total was 12.50 and no 5.00 oyno cat printed. Of course your right, Ocean Brez, customer service blamed it on the coupons.
If it continues like this I think I'll compensate items I need, but never have coupons for. This time around, Whole turkey breast is 1.99lb (my sister has a wonderful recipe-so tender it melts in your mouth-no need for a knife), Eat Smart cut veggies 12oz @ 2.29 BOGO, Precious string cheese is 2.99 and there's a 1.00/1 q. For future deals, culinary brand has some great dips for 3.99-check your avenue for coupons (great for the up coming Holiday's). Can you tell I'm trying to make myself feel better:)

Whenever I do promos (and rebates) with a minimum purchase requirement, I like to throw in extras (milk, bread, eggs, cereal, MEAT, etc.) the first time around so that my OOP is still around the minimum purchase requirement after coupons. Once I know the deal is working on the items that I bought, then I go for it again minus the extra items.

If we could all post our different scenario deals here that work for us, then we could help each other out. :encourage19:

If so, it looks like it is on the SHELF not sale price and BEFORE coupons. That would be amazing! Anyway to confirm it other than going shopping?

There are other stores (I think other Albertson's in different regions even) that when they have the same catalina sales as us here in so cal the deal is based on the shelf not sale price. I've never seen that to be the case here in so cal, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. I would LOVE to see this based on the shelf price. :giggle1:

You are right dirtbikemom2007. The deals do vary by region and although it doesn't always make sense or seem fair to us considering that Acme and most So-Cal Albertsons stores are owned by SuperValu, our regions store deals do go by the sale prices listed. :rolleyes24:

I went to my Albies in So. Cal today and bought $25.3 worth of the GM products then used $8.50 in coupons on those products, I had other things I needed to purchase too so my total after coupons was $42.30. I got the $10 GM cat, the $3 pillsbury cat and a $10 Joint Juice cat (bought 7 and used 2 BOGO coupons plus a free cat I found in the store!).

I went to my Albies here in Summerlin to try it out. I bought for $25 participating GM products, used coupons in the amount $8.95, and the catalina printer spit out the $10 coupon. I had nothing other than the $25 GM products when I checked out.

Hi Phin,
That's what I was thinking why the cat didn't spit out for the deal my friend did a few weeks ago when her total after q's was below the 20.00 requirement.
Now I'm wondering if one of the products she purchased wasn't programmed in the computer to trigger the cat once it hit the 20.00 mark since kori (http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/members/kori-12384.html) did the deal in Vegas and after q's her total was under the 25.00 mark and she got the cat.
Vegas ad had the same wording on q's as ours so we may be in luck.

I did this deal with coupons and everything and the 10 printed.

Anyway want to warn anyone doing the fruit snack my store tag as 2.49 but rang up 2.19 glad I got something over.I didn't even know I would have screw my deal. If I would have gone with barely $25 mark I would have not met the mark.

Its good trip. My store no Joint juice as usual........ta da....

I got 5 pillbury $8.30 they are not 3/$5 . They are 3/4.98 so I figured last time it did the same when thing advertised 3/5 but it cost each individual 1.66 instead of 1.67.
5 fruit snack $10.95 I thought $12.45 which I am glad I got the broth to cover.
3 broth $6

8.3+10.95+6= $25.25-$14 in coupons paid oop$ 11.25 got back $10 cat-$3.50 cat-$3 cat

My scenario not good I will have to redo my scenario.

I would d o the other two cat differently. I will get 4 fruit snack and 3 pillburry since I make the most used of coupons.

Anyway good trip no fuss from the cashier they don't even care about the coupons. I guess I am doing at night time crews are more better than day time ones.

I haven't tried rolling mine yet (going to try it today) but it has been reported in the NW Albertsons and Acme forum that it is rolling without problems. :BigHand:

It sounds like you have all gotten some fabulous deals but I still don't catch on! :sad:
Does anyone know what the lowest OOP I can spend is to get back the most CATS? I used up my food budget so have to borrow from another budget so desperate to spend as little OOP to get some groceries and CATS!

If you don't have any catalinas to start with, then your OOP for your first deal will be a bit higher based on what you buy and what coupons you have available to use. Once you get your first $10 GM catalina and start rolling it, then your OOP will gradually decrease.

Since I didn't have any catalinas to start with, my OOP for the promo was $18.95 after coupons. If you factor in that I earned a $10 GM catalina, a $3.50 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks catalina and a $3 Pillbury catalina, then that is $16.50 in catalinas that I now have to "roll" over from my first deal into the promo again or to just use towards other food items.

If you really need the stuff, then this is a great promo to take advantage of and stock up with. If your budgets a bit tight though, then you will need to take that into consideration too. Hope this answers your questions and I will try to post my deal breakdowns for you and others a bit later when I come back from the stores. :smile:

Are the nature valley nut clusters working for this promo? Anyone know the price? I have $1.60/1 Q's still that would be great for this promo.

Also, Ocean Brez: why didn't you buy the same 5 BC fruit for $1.99 each? would have made your oops lower?

I usually bring DD4 along on my trips to the grocery store and so I let her pick the snacks that she wants to get. :wink7: The cashiers usually freak out when they see that one of the boxes is open and then giggle when they find at that it was DDs "treat" for being good in the store. :giggle2:

ETA: I also meant to add that I had already planned out my "promo" transactions ahead of time, down to the penny, to insure that I did not come up short of the $25 minimum requirement. If I had decided to go with just the $1.99 BC Fruit snacks (the fruit shapes were the only ones for this price) and kept the rest of the items that I had purchased the same, then I would have come up short for the deal and would have not earned another $10 GM catalina. Better to be over then under KWIM?
