So, I had my $39 in RR, and had all of my Ragus and Skippy's all lined up to do 3 transactions, and get my $24 in RR back, and have a great shopping trip.

The kind young woman cashier said to me, "I'm sorry, you can't use any of these." I asked why, and she said, "Today is the 13th".

All of my RR expired on the 12th, I THOUGHT TODAY WAS THE 12TH!!!!

I truly thought today was the 12th, and I was so embarrassed, the store manager had to come over and void my transaction. I can't believe I let $40 worth of food go right out the window. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes. $39 in RR expired!

I know that things could be worse in life, but I blew it big time. Don't let this happen to you!!! Mark that calendar, I wish I had.

This has happened to me before. Especially with Catalina's that I get from Superfresh because I don't shop there often so it is easy for me to lose track of those. I just had a $4RR expire and (2) $1 Superfresh Catalina's.
Try not to get yourself too upset. I know it is easier said than done. There will be more amazing sales waiting for you.
We are human and we learn from our mistakes. I will let you in on a big mistake I made. I purchased $40 of the same coupon (200) in hopes of getting an abundance of this certain necessary product.
Well needless to say I didn't meet the deadline before the coupons expired. And I still had 100+ remaining. I had to throw all of them away. I will never get that many ever again.

:hug29:

Couponmom, that is terrible. I guess it stings, because we can really stretch our dollars into so much food, and times are tough lately, so it really is a necessity, not just a hobby. Well, I'm sure it won't be the last time, but hopefully not for a long time!

Sorry, OP. I now keep a running list on my Blackberry, along with reminders on the calendar app. Also, I keep mine in my wallet in chronological order by expiration date......... can you tell I've let a few expire in my time? Big hugs to you. I know it stinks, but hopefully another big deal will come along and you'll be able to earn some more RRs. Don't be so hard on yourself, we all make mistakes from time to time.

i feel your pain! I had a $5RR expire a few months ago and Saturday night around 8pm I realized that I had $15RRs expiring that night. Since I have been under the weather, my poor husband had to go. He argued and complained, but he still went. I gave him different coupons, RRs and a game plan. He walked into the house all smiles because he only spent $6.99 oop and got back $6RR (WHAT!) poor thing, he got cvs and wags confused and thought the dr.peppers were 3/$11:) He did pick up the fusion razor and dentek flossers and a few other goodies(for him) I just had to take a deep breath and not be upset...at least I had the chance to waste my RRs and not let them expire.
OP-I send hugs to you

:sorry22: that is a huge bummer... :hug7: Now, go try to do something fun to try to forget it happened:fall2: and make it a challenge to spend as little out of pocket to get back up there  and don't forget that :encourage17:

(((hugs))) I've let a few RR's here and there exp b/c I hardly shop Wags...made me sick to my stomach to realize they expired.

eta -- I started writing the amounts on a calander that I keep on my desk next to the computer that I use to keep track of my ECBs too. Makes it much easier to see at a glance whats about to expire.

Oh that is a great idea!

And thanks to all who offered the hugs and the condolences! It was just one of those days, but I can laugh about it now. It's a lesson learned, but it looks like I am not the only one that has had to learn it. Hugs to all!

No discussion of using expired RRs. WAG policy is that they do not accept expired coupons - 1 day or 1 year. Posting to the contrary on HCW will result in your post being deleted and infraction points may be issued.
TIA.

I would completely cry as well but you will make that amount back..think of all the overage you are getting using coupons for free items. Wish I could hug you!

Don't feel so bad, that happened to me previously with a $10 RR that was left in a sack. It was a month expired when I found it. I now make sure I put them in my wallet, so I get to spend them asap. I don't wait till they're about to expire since I don't make a lot of trips now. I feel your pain. You can make up for the loss in future deals, don't worry too much about it.

Aww..that just hurts!
Being forgetful happens when life is coming at you fast!
I would much prefer to choose being forgetful over the really stupid financial mistakes I've made, however! LOL!

i go to the car, take my rr's (out of bag or purse) and put them behind the other ones...that way the ones on top are the ones that expire the quickest...make a habit of looking thru them at least once a week so you dont forget anything...saturday night is a good time as sales start on sunday and the RR give you two weeks to use so more than likely you will have ones on sunday that expire...

I almost did the same thing this week. I had 21.00 in RR expiring on the 15th, which I planned on using this Sunday. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm glad I caught it before I lost it all but, I have to say, don't let it ruin your day. Think of all which you have gotten for FREE or the profits you made on a RR item you used a coupon for when purchasing. You will accumulate more in no time! That's the beauty of knowing the skills you now know. Remember when you didn't have a clue how to do any of the couponing you do now?

BIG HUGS AND LOTS OF LOVE!! I have let $6 expire. But, I think I would have cried at almost $40. I now try to spend within a week of gaining. I'm so sorry that happened to you!

So sorry this happened to you! I thought I had lost almost $80 in RR's last week and I was sick for about two hours!!!! This is a great week to shop at Walgreens - lots of MM's. Hope you can build up some RR's this week without too much oop. Take Care!
