Disclaimer: I found all of these at my awesome CVS which often has stuff marked down that no other store does. I stopped by another one and none of the items were marked down, let alone 90%, but I don't think I have EVER seen anything on clearance at the second store so YMMV. Most of this was found in the clearance endcap and seasonal clearance section, but I found a few items still on the shelves unmarked, especially the mascaras.

Blade Panther deodorant body spray 4 oz $0.46
-$2/2 Blade products (current RIB)
=$1.08 MM

Doglicious Rawhides 8pk $0.19

Friskies Party Mix cat treats 2.1 oz $0.24

Pedigree MarroBone 6 oz $0.19
-$1/1 (9/27 and 10/4 RP)
=$0.81 MM

Clairol Nice n Easy Mahogany Brown 118E $0.79 (only a few boxes, I think these are very shade specific)
-$1/1 (9/27 P&G)
=$0.21 MM

L'Oreal Preference Dream Blonde #100 $1.49
-$2/1 9/20 SS)
=$0.51 MM

Maybelline Voluminous Lipstick Berry Desirable 180 $0.89

Maybelline waterproof Lineworks liquid eyeliner Brown 452 $0.72
-$1/1 (eye product tearpad found at CVS makeup section, $1/1 eye product 10/11 RP)
=$0.28 MM

Physicians Formula Plump Potion Mascara Ultra Black 2206 (only shade that worked, pink box) $0.99
-$2 off shimmer strips or plump mascara tearpad found at CVS makeup section, $1/any PF cosmetic 8/9SS
=$1.01 MM or free

Sally Hansen 4 in 1 Nail Treatment (blue box) $1.34
-various amounts in database 9/13 SS
= 0.34 after coupon - not free but it was originally 13.49 so a good deal

Schick Quattro Midnight razor 0.89
I didn't find any quattro coupons that weren't for Titanium. The bonus pack was also clearanced.

Scotch Mail Cutter $0.74
-$1/1 cutter product (8/9 RP)

Purina Tidy Cats 10 lb bag cat litter $0.29
-$1/1 (10/4 RP)

My receipt for above says I saved $123.91. With all the coupon overage, I got all of that for about $1!! I did have some beeps but everything legitimately matched and the cashier (who is also awesome) pushed them through.

My other purchase:

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara in 401 Extreme Blackout and 402 Black Velvet $1.09

EOB Vanilla Cupcake Lipgloss $0.29

Maybelline Volume Express turbo boost 7x mascara Very Black 251 (only shade that worked) $0.74
-$1/1 see above

NYC Mosaic Powder Desert Bloom (only shade that worked) $0.48
- supposedly $3/1 any NYC in October All You

Maybelline gift pack? Set of eyeshadow, liner, mascara and makeup remover $1.49
-$1/1 above coupons...awesome deal!! It's in a clear bag with a black top. Picture of a model in background and says defined length in green in upper right corner UPC 4155404727

Sally Hansen Natural Butter Lip Shimmer - the 2 shades rang up different
$0.10 and $0.59 Aura and Impulse
-$1/1 any lip product (9/13 RP)

As Seen on TV Save a Blade razor sharpener $0.99

I love CVS :) I got multiple quantities of the above for about $8 OOP TOTAL, and I only used $2 ECB and didn't have coupons on hand for the second purchase. I can provide UPCs and possibly pictures upon request.

I'm trying to remember what else I saw but didn't purchase...Nexcare sanitizer and lip treatment, NYC lip plumping gloss, CVS probiotics, sorry, I did all of this after working a 12 hour shift and my mind is blanking. Happy hunting!

The razor thing doesn't work. I spent ecb's on it when it first came out and was very disapointed :(

Congrats!! Super deals!

I went into my CVS today, and found nothing!

They had no clearance, looked like they took all the clearance stuff and hid it somewhere.

I asked my assistant mgr. once about the difference in store clearances and he said the only thing he can guess is that stores that are doing well are allowed to clearance their stuff and ones that don't have good sales are not. The lawn chairs that some people got for $.99 never even got marked 50% off here. In fact I was told that they had been instructed to send them back instead of marking them down.

:BigHand:Holy smokes - well, I am really hoping that when I get to my CVS tomorrow, that I can find some of these great deals. I am super new to this and I have been really studying the forums and reading everything I can get my eyes on. I have a ton of coupons from clipping like crazy these past couple weeks, so we shall see. Can't thank all of you enough for your input.

Wait, I just remembered why I can't get these same bargains by using Qs with clearance items. My store marks out the UCP so the cashier has to enter the amount as general merchandise. Plus, they look at me like "you've got to be kidding" when I give them a $1 Q for $.29 item! 90% off is pretty awesome, but my bargain instinct always tries to get it for free!! LOL!

LOL!My store pushes them through on the clearance items. They even let me have the overage (which applies to other merchandise in the same transaction. I can't get change back for coupons!).

They do check to make sure the coupon matches the item, which isn't a problem. I match them up carefully myself before I check out.

90% of the stuff I find on clearance isn't anything I want for myself. It's great stuff for donating. It's fun to get free stuff for donating. It's a win-win situation (for me and the shelters). I can't afford to buy it, and they need the stuff. :giggle2:

I have been refused on using my coupons for the cheap clearance items, most are black marked thru the UPC and have to be keyed in, a couple trips. When they do allow me to, they adjust them down to the item price. Which is fine to me. But, I feel I should be able to use them. They are coupons on the exact items. What is the rules for this situation?

What is the rules for this situation? There are no official rules anywhere that I'm aware of. As far as I know, it's strictly up to an individual manager whether they will take coupons for clearance items, and if they do, whether they adjust them down or not.

I have shopped at stores that will not allow you to use a coupon on items marked through on the barcode. Most of the stores ring it up as a taxable item and adjust the coupon to the price of the product, have never gotten overage.
Today I was told by a cashier at my regular store that they can no longer accept coupons for their clearance items because the register beeps since it's put in as a taxable item and they have been instructed that if a coupon beeps they are not to accept it (she said that they have experienced a lot of coupon fraud). I'm going to talk to the store manager to get her take on this before I get upset. I get a LOT of items from clearance and it would be a pity to no longer be able to use coupons on them.
It seems to me that quite a few stores have gotten strickter on their policy because of coupon fraud. It's too bad that it's ruining it for those of us that use them correctly.

My store posted a sign saying per corporate they could not accept coupons on clearance items. I am a Business major with a minor in marketing so I sent an email to cs and asked them WHY? I told them that they put items on clearance to get rid of them and make room for other merchandise. They get re-imbursed for the coupon. I am more likely to purchase an item if I can use a coupon. From a marketing stand point it makes more sense to allow me to use the coupon and get rid of the merchandise than to leave it sitting on the shelf. The new GM of my store called and told me that I could use a coupon on anything I wanted as long it was for that item. I sweetly asked him "So you are going to take down that sign that says I can't use coupons on clearance items?" He said " yes ma'am, as soon as we hang up the phone." He also asked me to come to him if I have any problems/concerns in the future. He said he was going to have to have a meeting with the district manager and fill out five pages of paperwork due to my email so if I would please come to him in the future he would take care of any concerns I might have. As a pp said it might be YMMV but that email to cs lit a fire under the new gm at my store. I try not to complain very often but that made no sense to me from a business stand point.
