Uh oh......seriously, where am I going to put it all?

And that is the problem. I can't keep much more stuff and haven't any freezer space. Apple sauce season is upon us so I need freezer space too.

Good thing DH loves to drive to the food pantry.

The $2/4 price is good until 12/31 I believe. I know it is at least until some time in December. That's why I decided to hold off today.

So are we all assuming the DND coupons will be doubled and not stopped by the cashier? I wasn't sure how to make my list since sometimes they go through and sometimes don't. It was causing a HUGE price difference when trying out my own list.

Supergirl9801
10-13-2009, 03:25:59 PM
Well..you could either use sco or look for the notably named "jedi" cashier..usually young men who don't really seem to care and just push through any kind of coupons you give them :hysterical:.

I personally think it's ridiculous that some stores are manually overriding the doubling..but that's just my $.02 which probablly isn't even worth that right now considering our economy..ha!

BTW here's a link (http://bricks.coupons.com/Start.asp?tqnm=qjftcvm7318641&bt=vi&o=58525&ci=1&c=GM&p=v1TdWKo2)for $1/1 Total!

Ack! What happened to my scenario from yesterday? Here it is again, I think...

Triple dip
6 pillsbury crescent rolls 2.99 shelf/1.67 sale
3 bc fruit snacks 2.50 (just assuming knock down price b/c they've been 2.50 forever!)
= 25.44 shelf/17.50 sale
- 3.00 (3 x .50 doubled crescents)
- 2.40 (3 x .40 doubled bc fruit snacks)
= 12.10 oop, earn 10.00 GM cat, 4.00 pillsbury cat, and 1.50 bc fruit snacks cat

Roll the exact transaction for .60 or less using the 10.00 and 1.50 cats.

There are a ton of coupons for this deal on coupons dot com, including a .75/1 Total that I didn't see anyone mention? Also a .40/1 BC fruit snacks. Most, if not all, of the GM ones are dnd, so be careful.

I believe you can get extra prints of these on pillsbury dot com and smartsource dot com too. This is going to be a CRAZY week!!!!

There is a Gold Medal flour coupon at http://www.eatbetteramerica.com coupons/ (http://www.eatbetteramerica.com/coupons/). I remembered that the coupon was available last year at this site during the fall GM Catalina promotion and sure enough, it's there again. You hardly ever find coupons for flour! There are other coupons too, but if you already printed them from another GM site, you probably cannot print them again.

Not to put a damper on a great sale but just a word of caution as I recently had my pantry infested with granary weevils/beetles and lost all my pasta, rice, flour and spent 4 days emptying and inspecting every item in the pantry. Be careful when bringing in all these GM grain products. Segregate them to avoid having the same problem.

I have always had a very full pantry(25+ years) and never had any bug problems. I think our food storage system is failing as poorly as our food safety system has. Pantry pests are almost never the fault of the home residence, but rather the food warehouses. Since this is the beginning of the fall and most of these items have been warehoused thru the summer, summer is the time these pantry pests thrive.

On the other hand, it is very nice of GM to run their sales at a time I can replenish what I lost. However I will inspect each item and put them in plastic containers unless consuming immediately.

Someone on another board did them this week and they got the cat. Technically the cat started on the 11th. If I were you, I'd give it a shot. Worst thing happens is you make a return.

I had an infestation years ago. The standards that the Food and Drug Adminstration have allow for a very small percentage of vermin in food. The problem then becomes when it is still alive.

For a long time afterwards, I was putting every new grain product I bought in my freezer for a while which worked to kill the bugs if there are any. I haven't thought of that in years.

I just had to post this..I came home from work last night (Wednesday) and I have never, ever received an Acme sale ad before Friday (sometimes not till Saturday) and guess what was in my mailbox? The Acme ad already yeah!

I am just thinking about scenarios as I play with my kids and do my chores lol. I am taking this opportunity to fill my fridge/freezer with healthy stuff..already pulled 10 coupons each for progresso broth, Valley Steamers, Yoplait.

I am just being paranoid..is anyone positive it will double? I'd like to do a big order of $50 sp tomorrow morning but don't want to lose $10 in cats.

Yeah for early ads in the mailbox! I think that happened to me once:)

I would be careful doubling up. We only ever really know once someone tries it. And even then I hesitate b/c if there ends up being a problem with one item throwing the whole transaction off, it just makes it that much harder to go to CS/call Catalina. KWIM?

I was thinking of trying this too, this time, if it does indeed work for this deal. It becomes tiring and time consuming to do so many transactions. (but well worth it) Even though my store is cooperative towards my multiple deals, I do not want to overdo it! Sometimes I do quite a bit of transactions. In the past I was always afraid to try this also even when people said it worked! The problem is, I guess there is nothing that you can do about it, if only one prints instead of two, as CS will most likely say it is one per transaction or that I did not buy enough?

The reason I want to do $50 worth is in case I did $25 and the cats don't prnt, then cs says "well you only spent $15 not $25. ". At least if you do $50 sp then you will have $25 in sp and cs will give you the $10. Ahhhh, so stressful trying to decide what to do lol. I guess I will be the guinea pig tomorrow.

I just did this deal today on my lunch break and the Catalina did not print! The supervisor said they have not been since the deal started yesterday. Has anyone else had any problems? This is my little grocery store not a chain so I don't know if it was the Catalina company's problem or the grocery store's. I was thankful that didn't say it didn't print because I used coupons anyway. The just gave me $10 in cash, which is sad because they won't get reimbursed. I think I'll wait until tomorrow to try it again.

I noticed promotion tags on the honey nut clusters today when I was in getting another oatmeal deal!! I forget what shelf prices is thought. I think the shelf price on fruit snacks is $2.50. They have been on value buy for a long time.

What store are you trying this at? It is only supposed to work at SuperValue stores.

The Pillsbury cat is/was running at Genuardi's/Safeway too, so you never really know. If the store advertised the cat, it's possible.

I really would like to know what the shelf price on the betty crocker fruit snacks are, does anyone know, or can you post this tomorrow before I head out...Thanks!

The shelf prices vary from store to store or location. To be sure of what your stores prices are you can check online at acmemarkets.com, by searching the online store. The shelf prices listed here are a guide, but my store is usually cheaper across the board. I have had to readjust my deals and buy extra for the catalina to print.

Just got back from stopping in on the way home from work. These were only 2.19 shelf price at my store in central NJ, so not as good a deal as some of the other items, even with the .50/1 IPs. Works out to be ~ .67 each after cat and coupons.

Since I'm relatively new at being a die-hard couponer this is going to be my first foray into the ACME Catalina deals. I have a TON of coupons for all the items in this deal. I even went over to my parents house to print out more coupons.

Any advice for a newbie about working out the best deals? Most of IP's say DND so I'm digging through my coupon boxes for the insert Q's, hoping some of those will double.

Thanks in advance.

Coupons for the deals this week can be found on:
Coupons (http://www.coupons.com)
Home is Calling ? Deliciously Easy Recipes to Warm Your Home from Pillsbury.com (http://www.pillsbury.com)
Recipes & Cookbooks ? Food, Cooking Recipes from BettyCrocker.Com (http://www.bettycrocker.com)

All three sites have the granola bar and progresso soup coupons. The values may differ between sites. But all three sites let me print the coupons twice. I now have two $1.10/3 Progresso Soups and four $1/3 Progresso Soups.

Any advice for a newbie about working out the best deals? Most of IP's say DND so I'm digging through my coupon boxes for the insert Q's, hoping some of those will double.

The Progresso Soup IPs are a dollar or more, so those ones wouldn't double regularly anyways. Just using those IPs you can get some inexpensive soup. If you print all 3 available coupons twice you will have enough coupons to do the deal twice.

If your soup shelf price is $2.79 each:

FIRST ROUND:
15.00 (9 at 3/$5 )(PSP $2.79 x 9 = $25.11)
3.20 (2 -- $1.10/3 IPs & 1 -- $1/3 IP)
--------
11.80 OOP get $10 back

SECOND ROUND:
15.00 (9 at 3/$5 )(PSP $2.79 x 9 = $25.11)
3.00 (3 -- $1/3 IPs)
--------
12.00
10.00 (catalina from previous deal)
--------
2.00 OOP get $10 back

If your soup shelf price is $2.59 or $2.69 each:

FIRST ROUND:
16.67 (10 at 3/$5.00) (PSP $2.59 x 10 = $25.90)
3.20 (2 -- $1.10/3 IPs & 1 -- $1/3 IP)
--------
13.47 OOP get $10 back

SECOND ROUND:
16.67 (10 at 3/$5.00) (PSP $2.59 x 10 = $25.90)
3.00 (3 -- $1/3 IPs)
--------
13.67
10.00 (catalina from previous deal)
--------
3.67 OOP get $10 back

In my opinion, just focus initally on the items you really want and will use. It can be fun to get things for free or moneymakers, but we don't eat cereal and I hate to waste my time/energy even if I do make money on something I really don't want..even if you can donate it, still it's a lot of time and work to do the deals.

For me, we eat veggies daily for dinner and soup regularly..also yogurt and rolls so I will start with those items. Then, if I have time to do more trips I'll do the warm delights, fruit snacks, etc.

Also check this thread daily..people are really awesome about sharing their trips and scenarios!

Edited to add: I bought the wrong veggies..the $3.29 were "select" preminum cuts..so that was it. ARGHAAGAHGHGGAH. LOL

I DO NOT THINK THIS DOUBLES

I had over $50 sp which was easy since the sale price/sp same for yogurt, progresso. I had a major snaffu with oop expense as 7 of my veggies rang up $3.29 not $1.99. I don't *think* I bought the wrong ones as they matched the ad.

Anyway...got $10 cat but not $20

4 yoplus digestive
4 yogurt w/ fiber
3 progresso broth (reg didn't try low sodium)
8 valley fresh steamers

Sp should have been $52.32. After coupons, my oop was about $34. OUCH. Will take receipt to cs and try to get the $9 or so refunded for the veggies since I can't likely return them. Man, should have cost $15 or so after cats so this hurts.

Yes I agree with sticking to what you want the most first.
I am still trying to perfect my cat deals. I always seem to mess them up.
Also compare the pre sale price to sale price for the best deals.
Like the BC brownie mix is 1.49 cheaper with the sale but the pillsbury pie crust is only .49 cheaper on sale.

Oy vay, rough start for me. First of all, the chex mix was knock down priced to 3/$5, and that was one of my sure bets for a MM.

I did my first transaction of 4 Fiber One Cereal and 2 Total Cereals to get the lowest OOP. I used .75/1 Q's for all of them and a $2 Discover Q to bring my total down to $1 OOP!!! Get the Cat.

Transaction 2 was a disaster. I was going for the $50/$20. My items total after Q's was much less then $10, so I thought I'd combine. First problem was that not all the Warm Delights are included. I now know Dark Choc Raspberry and the new Morning Blueberry thing are not included. My total OOP should have been $1.XX even with $50 of items after the $10!

The SCO attendant suspended the order and was able to find the Warm Delight problem for me. BUT...if this deal doubles there's no way of knowing now because of my error on the order. Once I finished, and swapped for qualifying items, we were now at the attendants station. Her CAT machine was off, and though she was very pleasent- she insistend any CATS due me would have printed before she suspened the transaction.

I didn't realised the mistake in that logic til I walked out already, so I'll call CAT and try to recover the other $10. So that would have been $20 CATS for $1.XX OOP! I got:

2 Gold Medal Best for Bread Flour
10 Warm Delights
2 Cinn Toast Crunch
2 Golden Grahams

If anyone gets it to double, without messing there order up as I did...please let us know! My 180 coupons I ordered haven't come in yet, so I need to work fast to use them all up when they come. Oy!

Happy Shopping!

To the person who was asking if the IPs that say dnd will double... if the cashier just scans them, yes, they will double. If you get a cashier who considers themselves the coupon police, they will manually enter the coupons and they will not double. I find it strange that GM/Pillsbury releases insert coupons with NO dnd language, but their IPs say dnd. Anyway, it really just depends.

Also thanks to the person who confirmed the triple dip.

I didn't get my ad yesterday in the mail (wah!), but I need to go tonight for some things. I like to look at it, I'm a visual person lol. I'll probably end up going back once I get all my deals/coupons in order.

Ok...here's what you can do. You did the deal today right?? So go back to the store and return them. If they don't give it back to you as full price then act horrified/shocked and tell them they have your coupons and will get credit for them...if they refuse to refund you the full amount then demand they return your coupons to you. I've had to do this a couple times recently at my acme and that's what happened. It's a pain...but better than losing out. You may even want to call ahead of time and tell them the scenario and see which way they'll play it..that way if they do make you get your coupons back..they can start fishing for them b/f you get there and you don't waste all day standing around. Just don't back down and you should get your stuff back! I've been there done that....remember too if you forget your calculator..most cell phones have one in their "tools". That's what I use!

Another good tip for cat deals is to ring everything up first, and then have them scan your card. That way you can make sure you hit the 25.00 mark.

If you have The Sneaky Chef cookbook, she has lots of good uses for Total cereal:)

4 progresso broth (3 reduced sodium chicken, 1 chicken)
4 fiber one original
2 total original
8 crescent rolls (6 regular, 2 butter)

so something must not be coded if others are making this work. my totals on shelf prices were over $60 (in error, stupid me! :rolleyes24:) There were major catalina machine troubles (it jammed) and then I tried to go the whole "why dont you double the dnd coupon routine". they did end up giving me the extra $10. with all the confusion they didn't realize I had already gotten one.

My store had no beef broth on the shelf - but manager "went in the back" and brought me a case of 12. The chicken broth is ringing 2.00 but the beef was 1.50.
Double check at your store & adjust math accordingly.

Come on someone report if this deal works on $50 SP..giving 2 $10 cats...pretty please!!!
I tried to do it twice in one transaction and it did NOT work. I added up everything carefully, so it should have. I didn't say anything because the total after coupons was $17 and change. Should I call the catalina company? Is it really supposed to be on the shelf price?

It's definately on shelf price. I've done many transactions already. The problem is this deal doesn't double, which is how it usually is. But since it was reported elsewhere that this deal doubles ($50/20) we were just trying it out.

So, I'll second the confirmation- this deal does not double folks, sorry.:shrug7:

I bought over $50 of warm delights and bc cookie mix and it did not give $20 back. I did buy the correct items, as I used them in other orders and did get a CAT. So there you have it folks. Of course, anyone can make a mistake and not know it, but since I'm the second person to try and fail...I think this dream has died.

Correction: I had a tansaction with Cinn Toast Crunch, BC Cookie Mix and Warm Delights totaling $27 not print. The following transaction did print though...

I'm waiting to call Catalina until tomorrow so that they can look at the transaction and make the call while I am on the phone, otherwise I never hear the verdict. I'm going to ask about getting the seconf $10 Cat from the doubled orders, since I did buy the amount required. But I won't double the order again, since it's not working.

Ok one last scenario:
2 Tostinos 4.99
2 Cinn Toast Crunch 4.99
3 Warm Delights 2.39
Total Retail 27.13 Sale 16.58
Use 2*.35/1 Tostinos
1*$1/2 GM Cereal IP
3*.50/1 Warm Delights
1*$1 Discover Q
1*$10 CAT
18¢ OOP

Or do this:
2*.35/1 Tostinos
2*.55/1 Cinn Toast Crunch IP
3*.50/1 Warm Delights
1*$1 Discover Q

9.98+ tax should out you right at $10 I imagine.

I heard on another board the fiber one cereal was not working on presale price so that could be the problem?

I tried to double dip and it didn't work for me. :shrug7: I bought the following:

4 progresso broth (3 reduced sodium chicken, 1 chicken)
4 fiber one original
2 total original
8 crescent rolls (6 regular, 2 butter)

so something must not be coded if others are making this work. my totals on shelf prices were over $60 (in error, stupid me! :rolleyes24:) There were major catalina machine troubles (it jammed) and then I tried to go the whole "why dont you double the dnd coupon routine". they did end up giving me the extra $10. with all the confusion they didn't realize I had already gotten one.

This deal is really driving me crazy! Nothing seems to be working for me like I think it should (and I usually DO NOT have these problems with Acme!)

This morning (around 9:30), it DID double for me...I had 2 $10 cats in my hand after the one transaction. But when I tried again this afternoon, it DID NOT.

Then I had two transactions that only gave me the Pillsbury $4 cats, not the $10...I guess I need to triple-check my math, but I'm thinking something isn't coded right. Did anyone get the round crescent rolls? Wondering if that's why it didn't work...that's probably my luck since I was trying to be lazy and not have to roll up the other crescents when I make them! :giggle2:

From what I understand it did double at one point. It no longer does, however.

As for the crescent rolls, are you talking about these: 180000735? (I think on the package they are abbreviated to 187350) then yes, they are included and work. I bought a package of those this morning. They have a shelf of $2.99.

Grrr, knockdown prices and differing online prices screwed me up!:banghead:

I'm in Chester County PA, if you want to know our shelf prices....

The Yoplus and Fiber One yogurt were Knockdown price of $2.50, so I had to buy an extra one. Also, the Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll Grands SP $3.99 did not ring up on sale, and of course I didn't notice until I had put my coupons in. They dug my q's out, but one of them went missing (???) another GRRR.

So I did 2 transactions:

Prog broth $2 - $1 (.50IP) = $1
3 Fiber One 3*4.49sp = 13.47 3*2 = $6 - 4.5 (.75 IP) - $1.5 (online listed as 4.99sp)
2 Total 2*5.29sp = 10.58 2*2=4 - 3(.75IP) =$1
Total Retail = $26.05 Total OOP = $2.50 got $10 cat

2nd transaction
5 Prog broth $2 *5 = 10 - 5 (.50IP) = $5
2 Fiber one cereal 2*4.49sp = 8.98 2*2 = 4-3 (.75 IP) = $1
3 Yoplus yogurt $2.50*3 = 7.50 - 3($1IP) = $4.5

Total Retail 26.48 Total OOP should have been $10.50 BUT when I paid with $10 cat, my total was negative ($.10), so I threw in a butter and my total was $1.67.

Which cinnamon roll should I have purchased, just the regular ones, not the Grands? But I think their shelf was $2.99. Maybe I will just stick with the crescent rolls to get my double dip.

For any who don't have Catalina on speed dial...
1-888-8-COUPON (8766).Option 3 is for consumers.

My understanding is that they can look at your transaction the following day. If you call the same day they can take the info for later. I also believe they're closed on Sundays.

I am going to restrain myself from calling until the following down now so that I can speak with the CS about my transaction to assure that it's processed as it should be.

They don't work. I got them even though they weren't tagged thinking it was just an error on the stores part...but they didn't ring up on sale and looking closer at the ad...it's only the 8ct cinn rolls for 2.99sp that are part of it. Oh well....at least the $.75/2 q's still work for them and you still get the $4 cat when you buy 6.

I can also confirm the 16 oz Total works, the full size BC warm delights work...I too noticed the size for the minis and noted the only flavor at my store that was that size was some kind of blueberry cobbler thing. Not my cup of tea so :shrug7:. Also obviously the GG veggies in cooking pouches, GG Steamers, and the Gold Medal Flour all worked for me too!

Just an FYI

The Gogurts are also on roll back and ring up at $2.50.

Don't you just love shopping when you can buy 12 boxes of cereal and they pay you to take them out of the store? :hysterical:

Thankfully I paired the 4 Gogurts up with 6 crescent rolls and still made the cut. But I was stressing a bit. LOL!

Wasn't me! I haven't even gone yet, was going to go tomorrow. Maybe I'll just go to Lantana or Oxford.

Is Pillsbury pie crust on knock down = $2.50 @ everyones stores?

GG canned creamed corn, niblet corn, and "mexicorn" all worked yesterday. Never tried mexicorn - its corn w/ diced green & red peppers in it

What is the shelf price for the Progresso Broth?
TIA
$2.00 for chicken & it was $1.50 for beef @ my store. Take a box of the beef to CS to see if its that price at your store - amybe its just a glitch @ mine.:shrug7:

Best MM for me was 6 boxes of Total
12- 6*.75*2 IPs = 3 and get $10 cat
$7 MM and healthy cereal

My store did not have the fight Total, but if they did you could get 5 and use 5 .75/1 IPs, pay 2.50 and get $10 cat, a 7.50 MM

Usually only the sugray cereals can be had cheaply. Now I'm getting paid nicely to take home some healthy stuff.

I love Mexicorn! I've been shopping @ Giant for years and they never have it. I'll have to grab some when I stop by the Phoenixville ACME to see the Oscar Mayer mobile tomorrow.

We use it in a Mexican Beef Pie with Jiffy Muffin mix, tomato paste and ground beef. It's so good!

Yeah, I had to ask & it was in the back. I havent seen any since - bet I got the only case (12 boxes) they had. :shrug7: There were only about a dozen boxes of chicken on the shelf
IDK - broth shortage?
Why oh why dont I get a survey thingy when I need one?????????

If you have a Giant Pa near you -
Swanson cans of broth are .60 each
buy 3 = 1.80
minus .40 doubled = 1.00
get $1 cat back
they only double one like Q per trans. but its still a good deal
...and no, I'm not really bathing in broth - I just use alot in the cold months :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Order that had wrong Warm Delights and got postponed and taken to attendants station (with CAT Machine OFF!) did't show the changes done at the second register. This was a 'doubled' order. No second cat.

Can someone confirm the 2 $10 oyno for purchasing $50 of working items? Also, I went today but forgot to check - Does ACME carry the Pillsbury Crescents non perforated sheets and the Grands Honey Butter biscuits. If so, has anyone purchased these and had them work? I have some $1/2 coupons for each of these that I'd like to use. Also, has anyone tried buying the orange rolls? I know the ad specifies cinnamon, so not sure if the orange would work.

BTW - Don't think this is anything new, but today I got 4 Gushers, 4 reg Cinnamon rolls and 2 reg crescents. $15 oop a/c and got the $10, $2.50 and $4 oyno.

SP $25.xx
Sale price $15

After coupons $9.50..throw in a filler and pay with $10 cat and get back $10 cat and $4 cat so $4.50 mm

1 BC build a bug fruit snacks (used .40/1 IP)
2 Total Whole Grain 16oz (used two .75/1 IP)
2 BC warm delights hot fudge brownie (used two .50/1)

7 Simply Choc Chip Cookies 3.99 2.50
Shelf 27.93 Sale 17.50- 7*$1/1 Q= 10.50 Get $4 and $10 $3.50 MM

3 Tostitoes 4.99 3.79
4 BC Warm D minis 2.79 1.67
Shelf 26.13 Sale 18.04
-.35*3 and .50*4= 11.94 This store has 'tax blessing' and keeps taking off $1.95- so my total (if I hadn't made some oops) would have been -.01 plus tax!

The BC Cookie mix seems like my best bet, along with the Warm Delights if you can find them since the shelf to sale ratio is so high and we have good coupons to match. Also, the Simply's are simply divine!

My store only had one of the Simply Pillsbury Cookies on the shelf tonight. Bummer.

My teenaged cashier this evening was polite, efficent and happy for me when I spent 3.XX OOP, Got 2 $10 Cats back and a lot of groceries.

3 Total
2 BC Cookie Mix (CC,PB)
3 Warm Delight
Used a $2.50Cat from BC deal yesterday & various coupons. $2.00OOP

4 BC Cookie Mix (CC, PB)
2 High Fiber Soups
2 GoGurts (didn't really want these but they're for my son)
1 Simply PB Cookie
1 Green Giant Peas Steamer

Used $10 Cat from prior order & coupons. $1.30OOP

Right now I have $30 in Cats remaining in my wallet and a boat load of groceries. My pantry, garage and cabinets are bursting.

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of you. This forum has been a big help to me and I feel way more confident in doing these CAT deals going forward. Hooray for HCW & for ACME!

I don't know but I'll find out. I just did a trade for 3¢ a coupon to get 49 coupons for 7 offers, since I make $4-6 (due to tax blessing) on each order. My chocolate chip expires Jan and the Peanut Butter in December. Worst case scenerio I bake them all up and find a use for them. But I have a chest freezer (it's still new enough that I get excited saying that!:BigHand:), so space is not an issue. I had good luck with all of the catalinas printing, but I am exhausted LOL. I planned 8 transactions at home and paper clipped the coupons together for each different transaction. When I got to the store almost all of the shelf prices were lower when compared to the prices for the online store based on my zip code. I had to redo all of the scenarios in the store. Thank goodness I had extra coupons and a calculator. It was tiring to have to do them all over again, but well worth it! They were also out of some things. I guess in the long run, it is good news that the prices are lower in my store across the board! Just wanted to share to always double check everything! I am going back today for another small round of orders.

The WG Total in my store was not in the aisle, but was on an endcap so I thought they would be > $5 based on input from this board. Good thing I scanned everything first before scanning the Acme card. I only had 5 and noticed I was way short of $25. They rang up 3.99 each. The 01.6 oz on the shelf had a shelf price of 4.29 so thewe must have been on knockdown or something. I grabbed 2 more and used 7 .75/1 IPs. Paid 3.50 and made 6.50.

Also really enjoyed "buying" 6 cereals, using 2 $1/3 coupons and "paying" with a $10 cat, getting another in return. What a deal! My brother's family is going to love me - most of the cereal will be going there, as my kids are not big cereal eaters.

My ACME does not seem to carry the simply pillsbury cookies (it's a small store) so I'm sending my husband to the ACME by work to look for them at his bigger store. He's actually not protesting - I guess he has enjoyed enough free ACME food, that he's willing to participate!

Just to clarify...

If I were to buy 2 pie crusts for $2.50 each and use a $.50 coupon, I would have $4.50 towards my turkey?
$5.00 - $.50 (doubled amount)?

Also, if I were to use a $1.00 coupon then my amount towards turkey would be $5.00?

I have about $240 so far, and I don't know how many trips, I have to go through my receipts, I bring my mom to do deals with me and she has over $200 on her card. I saw some couple get their free turkey in one order, he spent like $350 some dollars and only had one cart of food, some people just have more money then brains, I can't imagine spending that much in one trip, even my mom who isn't a savvy shopper knew they could have saved $100 just by going to shoprite........LOL

EXACTLY...so it's actually more advantageous to use $1/1 coupons vs. $.50/1 coupons.....event though they double for us and make no difference in what we pay OOP...the full $1 goes towards your turkey total...vs. the $.50 q would only credit $.50!!!

Has anyone purchased any of the Diego & Dora Yoplait? I usually get those during the GM deals, but the tags all say 2/5 as reg price, it used to say 3.69. I'm thinking shelf prices aren't working on those this time around, but wanted to double check.

I haven't bought the kids yogurt but I have bought the Fiber One yogurt and their shelf price is usually 3.49 but they too had the knock down price of 2/5.00, I scanned them first before my super card and they did ring up 2.50 each!!

I did put together a deal though using:

(3) Fiber One yogurts
(6) crescent rolls
that puts you at 25.44
sale 17.50
then minus (3) 1.35 q's for yogurt (home mailers)
and (3) .50/2 rolls
10.45 total
so .45 OOP

Get 10.00 GM and 4.00 Pillsbury back!!

Yes we truly are spoiled!!
Too much knock down stuff, the yogurts and the bugles are especially frustrating.
Oh well still making out really great though.
I have spent less than 5.00 and have 307.00 worth of food and 155.00 toward my free turkey!!

So annoyed at the Avondale Acme. I got a bunch of stuff to do three deals, and when I went to SCO they snagged my coupons and then said that they wouldn't double any of the printable ones. That is in their right to do, but I just walked away from all of the transactions since EVERY coupon I had was a printable. I don't know if I'm going to be able to get to the store before Thursday!!!! I had to share with someone that understood or cared, because none of my IRL friends would even know what I was talking about.
I guess I will live......but life would be better with some Simply cookie dough....

I gave one of my $10 OYNO to my friend so he could grab some soup, then I took my other $10 OYNO and went to do a deal and something went wrong (Catalina is gonna send me a new one) and I lost that one. So I printed up some new Total and fiber one IPs thinking I could go as low as 2.50 oop and the stinking self-checkout guy un-doubled my Qs.

So I completely understand but can't complain as I've still made more money off of Acme then I've actually spent oop this year.

PS I'm loving those Simply cookies, no corn syrup, no trans fat, tastes pretty good for free.

IKWYM!! There's one lady at my store who likes to give me a hard time about doubling DND IP's...tells me I'm supposed to bring my coupons to the SCO cashier so they can manually DND them....haa :hysterical:. First of all....I think it goes against their own policy to do that and I WILL NOT complete a transaction there if they try to pull that crap on me again. Luckily this time she let it go through. She did at first also tell me I could use Walgreen's RR's there. So I was really :hectic1:. She said her SM told her they don't get reimbursed for those since they are "Walgreens" coupons...I went through the whole "their MFQ's not store q's..blah blah" with her...she went and asked her SM again and he said I could do it today while he waited to hear back about it. I also called catalina to see if they knew...they just :shrug7:. I wish MF's would make this stuff clearer than mud to everyone...I don't know why this has to be all so difficult on all ends.

I'm seriously thinking we should all just start complaining to corporate headquarters...I think if they advertise that they double all MFQ's up to $.99 then ALL should be doubled...regardless of what the coupon says. Everyone knows it's the stores that cover the cost of the "doubled" portion of doubled coupons anyway right..so I just don't get it.

This happened to me yesterday for the first time since I have been hitting acme every week during for well over a year doing these deals and using SCO. I guess the attendant knew about the coupons, as he came up suddenly to inform me. It was odd that this was never brought up before since he has known me for a long time. At least it was my last of many coupons and transactions for the day! He just kept the last one from doubling.

I brought up nicely about how the store advertises doubles, but does not do it? He took me up to CS to ask someone on duty. The person on duty was a senior employee or maybe a shift supv. She started saying that the mfgs will not pay double. The manufacturers never have paid double! She danced around it and I did not want to argue, and draw alot of attention. I said just said it seems to go against the fact that you advertise doubling. I mentioned that coupons given in the store usually say this, and not for coupons that you bring into the store on your own. I just said fine nicely, and let it go. She said that if that what the manufacturer wants regarding this product, we must follow the rules.

AFAIK, in most cases, the DND is included on coupons by the request of the retailer. I am just guessing, but I think that the DND may have been placed on the IP'S to entice the stores to accept them. It was not that long ago that many or most stores would not take internet printables. I contacted coupons.com about it, and they just gave me a stock answer about how to get the stores to accept their coupons in general. It is a bit insulting when your very clear question is ignored.

Finally, it is odd that the coupons are coded to double anyway. I am glad that they double automatically. We just have to dance around this and hope that we have good luck when we choose a check out lane.

I called Customer Service and complained. I explained the whole "mf's just don't wan the store to expect double payment when the turn them in yada yada yada" and they sent it somewhere....then a guy called back from Glenn Mills PA and said no go as far as he knows. He has sent it up the ladder but he doesn't think it will change the answer. Said it was some kind of federal guidelines they had to follow. @@ Like milk coupons couldn't be free ones. Whatever. I explained then how come some had 9's and some had 5's? Didn't he think the MF's were smarter than that, and they knew 5 barcodes doubled and 9's didn't? He said they would call back if he heard something from the higher ups but he doubted it. :shrug7: I tried.

I feel your pain! I had such a terrible time at Avondale during the $15/30 GM promo back at the end of the summer that I've quit going there. I instead drive down to Lantana or Pike Creek. They both seem to have a lot of young, friendly cashiers who are impressed with your coupons and low OOPs rather than distraught about it.

I did have two CATs not print today, though, at Pike Creek. The red light was on on the machine, but I didn't see it until after my transaction was done and I asked the cashier if anything had printed. She tried to fix it, but to no avail. I didn't have time to go to SC, so I'm planning on calling the Catalina company instead. I have never had to do this before (I'm pretty new to this!), so I'm wondering if someone can tell me about how long it takes for a transaction to get in their system? Is it best to wait that amount of time before calling? Anything else I should know calling for the first time? Thank you!

Help!

First time in a long time I used SCO and forgot to make sure the cat machine was working.

Half way through my self scanning I noticed the cat machine was off (no green light). So many people behind me that I finished the transaction and paid.

Here's the dilemma...the store had the small size Total tagged as part of the deal so I just picked up two Totals and four Cheerios without thinking.

It was over the $25.00 mark, now I am wondering if I should call cat people or just chalk it as a mistake on both parties.

Thank you

KEC, Catalina will have the info in their sytem real time. They will know if the Cats printed or not.
MJB, Catalina will know that you did not buy the correct product. Since the store made the mistake of mis-labelling, they should be the one to amek it right. Ask them for a Cat or ask them to re-ring it.

My understanding is Catalina CS can see your transaction the day after. So I'd call tomorrow so you can get a verdict while you wait. Then you get to wait forever for them to mail it, then get it and see that they sent an expired one, call again, wait again, get a new one and use it fast since it expires in two days!....oh wait, that was me!

Amazingly enough, this went through at the self-check with no problems:

6 Pillsbury Simply... $2.50/$3.99 (marked on the shelf at $3.99 - heh!)
1 Chex Mix $1.67/$1.67 (knockdown price)
$16.67/25.61
used 6 $0.55/1 Simply... doubled (some insert and some IP)
and 1 $0.50/1 Chex Mix (IP)
paid $9.07 OOP

Got the $10 GM cat and the $4 Pillsbury cat.

I had a much healthier transaction planned that involved Progresso broth, frozen veggies and Yoplait Kids, but they were out of broth :rolleyes24:. Oh well.

Came home to a notice that DS1's class is having a bake sale on Friday - so I guess I just solved the problem of what to do with several dozen cookies!

Ha, that sounds like my friends/mom. I un-shunned Acme because of the $30/15 (I hear deals like that will come again some day, is this true!?) deal. I did $1500 worth and got paid $140.:hysterical:

My understanding is Catalina CS can see your transaction the day after. So I'd call tomorrow so you can get a verdict while you wait. Then you get to wait forever for them to mail it, then get it and see that they sent an expired one, call again, wait again, get a new one and use it fast since it expires in two days!....oh wait, that was me!

It's not always that bad, but the wait is getting outrageous.:shrug7:
Thanks, Lianne. I called today and they took down all of the information and then just said someone would review it and send the CAT out in the next couple of weeks. Is that similar to your experience? She said she couldn't tell me then and there if I would be getting the CAT or not, but she did give me a reference number if I wanted to call back and check the status in a few days. It wasn't quite what I expected, but I guess we'll see if it works. I hope so!

FYI: My BC fruit snacks were marked as knockdown for 2/$5 on the shelf, but on my receipt they rang up as 3.29 with .79 value buy savings... I was at Pike Creek Acme in DE.

Some times this is my experiance. I'll call on the same day as the transaction and get that reply. The problem is I never get a resolution (they tell me they'll call and don't) and I may forget and my concern is that I'll loose out somehow.

I was told on those times that they couldn't see the transaction until the next day- so would review it like you said, I want to say it was some kind of upload thing that happened on the stores end....:shrug7:

When I waited until the next day this time they could pull up my transaction and look at the UPC's I purchased. We were able to sort through all my mistakes and the stores while I was on the phone.

It even said if the cat printed or not. Technology is something huh?

Btw, I believe there is a daily update thing that happens with the Cat machine. I wonder if this is the time that the days transactions are transmitted to Catalina.

I remember reading somewhere that those kinds of fantastic cats come every 3 months on average. If that's so...it puts mid-November as the "magic" time for another great cat. I've got my fingers crossed!!

Aww....hehe. How old's Chris? I find it so precious when my almost 8 yr old gets excited like that for me. He was telling the SCO attendant one day about how I paid $0 twice! I thought it was adorable but I wished he's stop.:hysterical:
Chris is 11 and in the 6th grade. He's a good kid and put last nights hall in the basment. Little does he know that some of that will be donated to the school for Thanksgiving baskets and he will be halling it again:whistle67:.
