We live in a very small town and our grocery store and gas station rarely sell out of their Sunday papers. I know that they just cut off the top 1 inch or so from the paper (including date and price) to return it to the distributor (I assume for reimbursement). Has anyone had any luck obtaining extra papers at a discounted price or free late on Sunday (when they know they won't sell more)?

There's a sticky on this forum about Dumpster Diving you should read. Aside from recycle bins, there are many suggestions about getting newspapers at a discount or even free on Monday morning.

In our town it is illegal to dumpster dive. :rolleyes24: You might want to check first. A couple of summers when copper and scrap metal prices soared, they really cracked down on it (as in arresting people) because most stores/companies around here don't want the liability of some one being in their dumpster. Also, the stores around here say they have to give the newspapers back w/ coupons in them or they don't get "credit" for the ones not sold. :shrug7:
My best places for extra coupons:
*my friends and family or neighbors who don't coupon
*I "co-op" coupons w/ my friends around here. ( It's great to share what you can't use.)
* Check out trading forum on here.
* Buy them from a reputable coupon clipping service. (You also might want to check out some of the posts on here about reasons not to buy through Ebay.)
I hope this helps!
