Also, on Meijermealbox.com there's a new Swansons $1/2 coupon, it does not state the size?
I have .50/1 Nestle Morsels, which will be on sale for $1.99, so a good deal. Local paper had $1/2, but I ordered better ones from a clipping service.

Hey Kristine...
I did not include the Swanson's as "technically" I am not sure that we are supposed to use it. It has something like Swanson Aesptic Broth on it. I had not one clue what that meant, so I googled it. The word Aesptic has to do with the type of paper box that it is stored in. So I wondered if it would work on the cans?
Just playing it safe... lol. But, it may very well work.

I'm looking at the ad (sorry--I'm way untechnically minded. I'll have to work at scanning and posting--if my hubby will help me!). I'm thinking the Campbell's soup deal might work on the "cream of" soups, too, b/c the cans say "condensed" on them and the ad is for "buy any 5 cans of Campbell's condensed soup and 1 package of pepperidge farm bread," get a Q for $5.00 OYNO. That would make a really great deal! (and more useful for me, since we rarely eat the canned chicken or veggie type soups.)
Here's my plan: Buy 5 "cream of" soups at $.65 each = $3.25 + $2.49 (pepperidge farm bread) = $5.74 - $2.00 ($1.00/2 IP twice) = $3.74 - $1.00/4campbell's cans MB Q = $2.74 & get $5.00 OYNO = $2.26 MM !!! (I can't find a Pepp.Farm Q--has anyone else seen one???)

super excited... I have been super super stocking up ... I have like 90 of the prego/pepperidge farms bread/ pharm cheese tear pads. I haven't seen the ad yet so I am hoping this is the week :) My trading buddies won't know what to do with me once I no longer am looking for a prego fix :)
evil grin ... now where oh where am I going to put all that prego sauce :) We don't eat the bread though ... too greasy I like homemade better... too much butter stuff for my liking.

10-10-2009, 10:02:48 PM
Totally sad... Prego isn't on sale at any of the stores I frequent just the normal $1.69 price... guess I hold out and keep stockpiling them.... also it looks like it is the loaf bread for pepperidge farms as the deal is pictured with a stack of grilled cheese sandwichs... so I don't think the garlic bread TP's would work either for those that have them...

I received a mailer from Kroger last week that had a MQ for $2.00 off Pepp. Farm when you buy two Prego. Works out well since Prego is on sale as well.
There was a .40/1 Pepperidge Farm coupon in my 10.04.09 SS. If you don't need to buy Prego (or don't have that coupon) then using this coupon is the best deal.
.65 x 5 = 3.25 less $1 MB -$1.60 (2 MQ) = $.65
2.49 x 1 = 2.49 less $0.80 (1MQ) = $1.69
Total $2.34 (39 cents per item) oop- and get $5 OYNO
There is $1/2 MB coupon for the garlic bread - this would make your total $3.03 (43cents per item)

Okay, so given that the Pepperidge Farm deal is only for sandwich bread, it isn't all bad (assuming you will eat the bread!)
Here are some scenarios:
Buy 6 Creams at $0.65 each, less 3x $1.00/2 coupons (IP)
Buy 1 bread at $2.49 less ??? coupon
=$0.65*6-$3.00+$2.49= $3.39 get cat for $5.00 so MM
OR
Buy 6 creams at $0.65 each, less 3x $0.25/2 Campbell's Great for Cooking Q
Buy 1 bread at $2.49 less ??? coupon
=$0.65*6-$0.25-$0.25 (doubled)-$0.25-$0.25 (doubled) -$0.25 +$2.49=$5.49 get cat for $5.00 so $0.49 OOP

Jill, it really is a good deal. The TC store was out of the right kind of bread, so they substituted the oatmeal variety (yummy!).
Here were my deals:
Trans 1
5 cream soups 3.25, used 1/4 mbq and 25/4 mfq
bread 2.49
paid $4.69, got $5 cat
Trans 2-4
5 cream soups 3.25, used 1/4 mbq and 25/4 mfq
bread 2.49
2 cans spaghettios .49, used 40/2 mfq
used $5 cat, paid .07 oop each trans
Trans 5-8
5 cans kids soup $4.95, used 1/4 mbq and 2x 40/2 mfq
bread 2.49
used $5 cat, paid .64 oop each trans.

bag of tootsie rolls 2.00 (my addiction)
bottle of Manschiewitz (sp?) wine, on ad for $3.99 $1 MIR

Can you break down what you purchased?
Sure. The deal is buy $15 in any John Frieda, Curel, Biore or Jergens products and get a $5 oyno coupon, one per transaction.
I bought 5 stylers (3 Heat Defeat sprays and 2 Spiral Style gel sprays) and realized after I got home I only needed to buy 4. In my head I was calculating at the AFTER coupon price. That's what I get for deciding on the fly to do the deal.
All JF is 20% off.
5 x 4.71 ea = 23.55 (Normally 5.89 ea)
- $5 ($1/1 from Sunday insert)
= 18.55 or 3.71 ea after qs and $5 oyno
What I SHOULD have done was
4 x 4.71 = 18.84
- $4 ($1/1 from Sunday insert)
= 14.84 or 2.46 ea after qs and $5 oyno
Oh, my heart hurts reading the scenario I did and the one I should have done.
All the Biore are 20% off also. I don't know prices, but the $3/1
Biore Skin Preservation product, any - 10-11-09 SS might make for a decent deal?

I tried the link and it didn't pull up the coupon for me initially. Give it a minute or so and it will appear in the window on the right. Thanks!!

What I SHOULD have done was
4 x 4.71 = 18.84
- $5 ($1/1 from Sunday insert)
= 13.84 or 1.77 ea after qs and $5 oyno
It would actually only be $4 off not $5. But still a good deal :)

There was one for kid's soup............did you need that one? The one that was for any condensed soup expired and was replaced with the cream soup and kids soup. There is also a select harvest coupon.

Do you guys like to use the self checkout or just the register? I always freak out over going to the register because the checkout people usually give you a hard time on coupons. Yet the self-checkout is always spazzing because I "have too many coupons"!

I did not try this, but I would say probably not...the select isn't condensed...no water needs to be added. BUT...I don't know for sure.

I've been to Meijer twice this week to try to do this deal and they've been out of bread! Anyone else finding this? Today, the cashier said the PF guy comes 2x a week and he's not coming back again and he left none in stock...!!! URGH! I'm in Coldwater. Anyone know if Angola has a good stock of bread? Might be worth a short drive...

I never do self-checkout unless I only have one or two manufacturers coupons. Otherwise I always hold up the machine and wait forever for a cashier to come over - and they are usually very busy and annoyed at me. So, I just go to a regular line (not usually express) and watch the cashier very closely as they scan each item.

Neither of my Meijer stores have had the bread in stock either. In both cases, I explained to the cashier that I had the soups but no bread. The cashier called the manager over, and then both managers handed me a $5 OYNO handwritten catalina!
Wow, thanks!

I don't know if you all know this already or not, but ...
I thought my store was out of the right PF bread as well, but discovered the "Farm Soft" varieties (whole wheat for sure) were not shelf tagged as part of the deal, but most certainly worked on Tuesday when I tried it. They were further down the aisle than the "regular" PF bread. They're the same size in ounces and the same regular price. I don't know if everyone knows they're included as the tagged shelf at our store was barren, but the Farm Soft stuff was overflowing.
Hopefully that works for some of you ... :<3:

I had a first today regarding mealbox coupons. I print my couponing info on loose leaf paper in my printer cause I have a bunch of it.
The cashier did not want to take my mealbox coupon because he said it was copied on a copy machine. I really don't think a copy machine would have loose leaf paper in it.
I believe he was annoyed with me anyways because I started my order on a lane that the catalina machine was not working and requested he cancel my order so I could move to another lane. :rolleyes24:
Just a heads up, they seem to really be scrutinizing coupons, even if you can print them from Meijer.com.

I did the soup and bread today, plenty of PF hardly any soups at all left and the sign by the bread said "PF SANDWICH BREAD ONLY for the catalina deal" so I took several to checkout because to me any sliced bread is sandwich bread. I had the super nice cashier who said he had not even heard of the deal and hoped the bread I bought would work which it did. He is such a sweat heart he said "I am going to watch your total on these mealbox q's as they don't always seem to deduct the amount". After I left I realized what they probably meant by the sign is that customers were purchasing other kinds of PF loaves thinking they were getting the $5. I was soooooo glad I printed the mealbox before they pulled it. Unless they restock there won't be any cream soups left anyway.

I believe they put up the clarification because people were unsure of whether the frozen PF garlic bread would work. It doesn't. However, the PF Cinnamon bread is working for the deal, and I don't think that anyone would use that on sandwich - just toast. I think a more accurate clarification would've been "SHELF STABLE BREAD ONLY". In any case, the cinnamon raison bread is $3.59 (GR, MI). Not on sale, but it works for the $5 cat.

We had the sign that said PF Sandwich bread too.
But at the bottom of the page someone had written "ANY Variety". :BigHand:
Only a few kinds were $2.49 and the rest was $3.19 to $3.49 a loaf.

FYI: Meijer in Hamilton and Fairfield OH was stocked this morning! Hamilton is good on Cream of chicken soup (check the middle isle for a display) and Hamilton has some on an endcap (but not as many).

I spent my day Saturday making my list, checking it twice...
This was my FIRST big Meijer coupon trip since August. Yikes! (I used to go weekly. Without fail. Rain or shine. What happened? I think... homeschooling.)
So I read on here that the cinnamon bread was working for the Pepperidge Farm deal. So I was feeling pretty cool to know that, when I grabbed one of the THREE loaves of PF bread left in the entire store. I needed the soup anyway and had luckily found some on a cart they had rolled out and just left sitting in the aisle.
I get up to the self-checkout (which I always like to use), scan all my stuff, carefully do my coupons (of course ONE of the MB coupons did not come off my total, and I told the manager this... he was helping with my coupons b/c they were trying to get me checked out, so that they could empty out the money... This did not help my state of mind, these people standing around waiting on me... He tells me it did come off, and by that point I am like, whatever).
So we pay the bill, and I glance to the machine to see what is printing, and there is a sign taped on it that says "This machine not working".
We had all three kids with us, it was getting late, I figured customer service would argue with me because the cinnamon bread isn't pictured in the ad, and there was a line, so I totally just had to make myself get over it and head for the car.
I had to share this with you guys, where someone would understand my frustration and disappointment. Dh listened to me explain it on the way home, but I'm sure he's thinking, "Good Lord woman, enough about coupons and cats!" :rolleyes24:

I TOTALLY understand! I cancelled a transaction in the middle of checkout last week because I happened to glance at the catalina machine and saw the red light flashing. The cashier was annoyed and thought I was nuts.
On another trip, my 0.50/3 Kleenex would only give me a total of 0.89 off rather than the $1 because the register was programmed to limit the coupon to the cost of one item even though I had to buy 3 to use the coupon. The cashier told me she couldn't do anything about it and I wasn't in the mood to argue ober 0.11 so I just got over it and came home.
I hate the checkouts at Meijer! Meijer however always has the best deals on groceries around here.

Certain tropical fish are 5/$5, but I believe the regular price is around $2-3 a piece. That is a great deal if you have a tank. We had one in storage, so we pulled it out and got it stocked with 11 new fish and replacement equipment for less than $20.
I know we got tetras and guppies. There may have been others, but we started with those.
