Where's Smartsource?

The last couple of weeks I have had problems with partial Smart Source inserts. The inserts have been missing the back or middle sections. I had been thinking that people were maybe stealing them, but now it's also happening to my newspaper that I get delivered to my house. I keep contacting Orlando Sentinel and they say they will deliver the missing ones to my house and always just bring one *sigh*. Anyone else having this problem?

I had the same problem with one of my smartsource a few weeks ago - the oe with electrasol and johnsons $2 coupons - I bought 10 papers, luckily it was just 1 that had the back half of the coupons missing but they were the best coupons. I thought that someone took them but maybe not....

The Chicago Trib that comes to my house was also missing some - don't remember all that were missing, but definitely electrasol, Johnson's, and light bulbs. There were several others too.

I would call the newspaper circulation department. It is not unheard of for the carrier to "keep" the inserts from Home delivery subscriptions.

I get Orlando Sentinel and Daytona Beach News Journal and find the regional difference make it hard to figure out what is going to be in each. I am to the point that if it has any SS and/or Red Plum in it, I have gotten the inserts. Really weird thing is that I actually got some inserts in the DB paper a couple of weeks ago that were from Omaha Neb. How crazy is that!

yea this weekend i bought 2 papers and one smart source ended up not having part of the insert to it. Like the colgate coupons along with others

That's exactly the portion that was missing for me this weekend, from the colgate coupons to the end of the insert. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what they say.

Sorry if this is the wrong location, but I need help finding the smart source insert in NYC - I only have seen Red plum.

Newsday - smartsource & RP (mostly $1/2)
Daily News - RP
Post - smartsource (often 50c/1) and a coupon or two that other parts of the country gets
NYTimes - smartsource & RP - often has different coupons, sometimes even not out anywhere else.
Spanish papers - Hoy, El Dario usually have both but I found the inserts thinning.

each will have a variety of coupons - check them before you buy the papers if you're looking for a specific coupon.

There are tons of papers thrown out in NY every Sunday night...you should have too much trouble finding them.

Sorry if this has already been discussed. I've been really busy and don't have time to read everything, but can someone tell me where the smartsource q's are lately. I haven't gotten any in my paper in a few weeks.Thanks:wavehi:

They haven't been missing here. Maybe your paper just stopped carrying them. Maybe you could call the paper and ask them?

Anyone here in the York, PA area that get the York Sunday news? For the last 2 weeks there has been no Smartsource insert in my paper. Today at Giant and Weis I check several other copies and those were also missing the Smartsource insert (not sure about last week since I didn't go out to check). The Baltimore Sun had it and so did the Harrisburg paper, but not the York one.

Does anyone know if the York Sunday News will no longer be carrying the Smartsource inserts? If this is true I need to cancel my subscription. I tried to call then today but just got a recorded message so I will try to call tomorrow to speak to someone.

I've been wondering the same thing! I'm actually stressed over it. I had to spend $40 this week ordering coupons because of it! Did you find out anything?

I talked to someone in customer service this morning. As of right now, smartsource has decided to pull their inserts from the York Sunday News. The CSR said this has been made permanent yet and the inserts could come back, but she was not sure about it. She was not allowed to tell me any details other than that. She said lots of people have been calling and asking about the inserts.

I decided to wait 2-3 more weeks and if the Smartsource inserts don't return by then I will cancel my subscription. I will just buy the Harrisburg or Baltimore paper for my inserts, even though they cost a little more.

Looks like I will have to start trading again for coupons I need. I use to dumpster dive to get extra inserts, but I can't do that if the inserts aren't in the paper anymore, can I?

If you look on the spine of the inserts, it will meniton what papers it is supplied to. If you buy another paper that you know does have it, you can check to see if it was supposed to be in yours. I noticed mine were missing from the St. Pete times this week. (1/24)

Does anyone know if tomorrow's St. Pete Times - Manatee or Sarasota - is going to have the SmartSource insert this time?????

I hope someone finds out b/c I had a standing 200 paper order with them, just for the coupons. I called on Tuesday & they said they'd get back to me. Haven't herd a thing. I told them that I'm only buying it fo the advertising (coupons) & if that was the main motivator of selling the papers, they would be loosing a 200 paper order instantly if they didn't start putting them back in. I know for a fact that the papers my driver supplied was equal to 1/2 of what he put in boxes & stores. 200 for me, 200 for everyone else. You can't tell me that wouldn't hurt their sales. I've had this standing (pre-paid) order in for almost 2 years now (got them from boxes before I met the driver & made the arrangement) so it really sucks that they would do this.

I guess if they don't fix it, I'll be buying the Gainesivlle Sun. More $ but more inserts.

I was told buy who I get mine from that they are renegotiating their contract. I have been getting some but not a lot from St. Pete times until the fix it. Tampa Tribune for me. Weird thing is I went to Superwalmart today and I usually buy 10 or so Tampa and they had their paper shelves put up and it didn't look like they ran out, but that they didn't get them today. I went to a different Superwalmart and they said they didn't sell the paper. Weird!

I bought 4 Bradenton Herald today since the St. Pete Times has not had the SS inserts for the past 3 weeks.

None of the 4 Bradenton Herald's had the SS inserts. I also bought 1 St. Pete Times just to see if they've resolved their issue...and it didn't have it either.

Did anyone else's Brad. Herald have SS? How about the Sarasota Herald??

I got them last week but not the week before and then not yesterday. Luckily my mom got me a couple from another county and I'll see her this weekend. Manatee county has no good coupon sources anymore.

We are having the same problem in PA. I get 5 different papers for our area just for the coupons and only 1 is carrying the SS insert. This has been going on since the beginning of the year. The only paper that carries the SS insert in my area is actually for the next state over!
