I stopped by FL and was surprised that you had to scan something out of the ad to start you intentional participation in the Great Turkey Giveaway.
This started Sept. 30 and runs through November 24. Each week runs Weds-Tuesday.

Overview of this found on website:

Shop 6 of 8 weeks.
Present your Free Turkey Card( found in the sales ad) and
personal MVP Card to enroll.
Spend $45 per visit with your personal MVP Card.
Earn 6 different weekly Electronic Turkey Credits (on your cash register receipt) and receive $20 off your next shopping order electronically at the cash register.

Food Lion:: Current Promotions :: Free Turkey (http://foodlion.com/FreeTurkey)

I also wonder if the $45 is before coupons? Anyone know? Also, I wonder if the $20 has to be on groceries or can it be on non-food? I am sure prepaid phonecards, GC and alcohol are prohibited, we will have to email corporate I guess.

I'm interested in knowing if the $45 is from your pre-coupon total? Anyone know?

Their promotions have always been based on the total before coupons, at least in my area. :o)

Does anyone know if you can get more than 1 point per week? There are only 2 weeks left and I have 3 points. I REALLY want to get that $20 cert! Thanks in advance!

It doesn't look like it - it says "Earn six different weekly Electronic Turkey Credits" so it sounds like you have to get one each week - sorry!

You could always ask your store manager though, you never know - s/he might be willing to help you out somehow.

You guys are lucky........its always been after coupons in my area. You have to actually pay over $45 for your order.

Needless to say, I've never ever gotten a free turkey or ham at eastertime at food lion before!

I wish they would go back to giving out those little slips like the catalinas instead of printing the credits on the receipts. Has anyone had problems with not getting the credit when you are suppose to? I should have more turkey credits than I have been given, and it was agreed, the credit was due, but not given. I have had the same problem when they did the milk deal. I was then told to contact the toll free number on the receipt to get the matter fixed. I've tried numerous times to call, and keep getting a busy signal. Any suggestions?

I have to agree with you. I know that I missed out on numerious credits for both the milk and present turkey credits! For some reason my receipt will say one week 3 credits and the next 2! Can't seem to figure out the system. I also have found that I only get credit when the oop is over the amount, and not the before coupon amount. Look forward to advise from others.

It's good to know I'm not alone! Even the store manager said I should have been given the credits even if using coupons! I am a single parent of two teens, and unemployed, so I have to stretch my food budget as far as I can. That $20 sure will be a huge help when, not if but WHEN I get this matter resolved. It might mean me taking every single receipt to the manager and demanding he correct the matter, but if that's what I have to do, it's what I will have to do!

Same here. I noticed on my receipt where I was opted in to the Turkey Promo but i've yet to receive any credits. Of course all of my totals are way below the $45 mark but thats after all coupons. If it is before coupons like everyone has stated I should have at least 3-4 credits. All of my receipts say 0 credits :shrug7: Guess I will take it up with customer service.
