View Full Version : A good experience at Walgreens

I don't shop much at Wags, but saw a bunch of RRs that I wanted, so I decided to go last night. I wasn't expecting to see anything I wanted in stock, and when I got there and looked, I was right. Everything was sold out. I was on my way to the front of the store to leave, when a worker asked if she could help me find anything. I told her that everything I had intended on buying was out of stock. She looked at my list and went on a searching mission. She found all but one thing, the Oral B toothbrushes.
Then she told me to follow her to the cosmetics counter and she would ring me up there. I told her I had multiple transactions, and she said "No, problem." We chatted while she completed my purchases. She was very nice.
I walked out to my car satisfied with a Wags trip. (I read so many horror stories about them, it makes me not want to even try to shop there.) I started pulling out of the parking lot when I saw the same worker running towards me! I stopped and rolled my window down and she said "Maam, I found some toothbrushes. I know you said you were coming back later tonight, so I put a few under my counter in cosmetics for you. Just look for me when you come back and I'll get them for you." I was shocked. What a nice person!
I wish I would've looked at her nametag. I'm still going to go online and comment on her. I wish all stores, not just Wags, had employees like her.
Just wanted to share a good Wags story.

That's a great story. On my receipts the person's name who waits on you is on the top.

That's so great to hear! I'm probably jinxing myself saying this, but I've had nothing but good Walgreens experiences, though I'm fairly new to shopping there. I'm sure my own horror stories will come with time! Still, it's nice to hear how helpful she was. It seems she went above and beyond for you.

That IS a great story! Thanks for sharing that. It's good to hear the positive ones.
I had a GREAT experience (similar to yours) at a Randalls a few days ago. The cashier was the nicest person and went out of her way to help me get my transaction right (to get the best deal).

Thanks for sharing! So often all we get to hear are the 'horror' stories, it's great to see someone being recognized for doing good! :BigHand:
If you really want to thank the cashier who did great for you, mention them by name if you get one of the Survey Receipts (the ones that print out a toll free # and list a website to go to). If an employee is mentioned by name (in a positive way, lol :wink7:) they are entered in a drawing to win a GC from Walgreens. They also receive a 'star' to wear on their uniform / nametag, showing that they've been personally recognized as giving great customer service. Something else you might want to consider would be to go to the store mgr, tell them that you are 'new' to Walgreens, and that with the service you received from that cashier you'll be coming back. As OP stated, the cashier's name is on the top of the receipt, and their identification # is there as well.
May all your visits go this well in the future!

That's a great experience. When using coupons, I usually only have negative experiences there. When I don't have coupons, it usually just is an average experience.

Yay!!!
I'm not sure what it is, I had quit doing WAG for a long time, but started going a few weeks ago again. They are so pleasant and helpful, it's like I've entered the Twilight Zone! LOL!

That is a great story :) I love when employees go out of their way to help a customer out, even though this should be the norm it sadly isn't anymore. I am glad you had a great experience! :)

Q) Why, for the love of all that is good, are advertised items not where they are normally found on the shelf?
It is a major pain in the butt.
An endcap display would be nice (I encounter them from time to time).
Those endcaps should be constantly restocked and monitored.

The horror stories far out way the good experience stories by a factor of ...
ONE GAZILLION !!!!

Meanwhile they still ask for our opinion on their receipts.
Hey, buddy, Walgreens is consistently running a '2' out of a '5.'
Meaning there is major room for improvement.
Q) How many times do we have to tell you?

I have two Walgreens within nearby reach from my house. One is very very accomodating and the other is very un-accomodating (limiting one RR per transaction, not accepting coupons because they say "limit one per purchase, etc.). Needless to say Walgreens experiences are all dependent on the store management. Same for pretty much any store. The goal is to find these good stores and remain very loyal to them. In a relatively short period of time, I've forged a good relationship with two supermarkets, one CVS, one RiteAid and one Walgreens. They see me regularly and usually are very nice and accomodating! I realize I am luckier than many.
